  1. Thought I'd say It's an rs 125 and from what i have read, these bikes do not have fans? And i just got in from work b4, was coming home took me 15 mins and when moving the temp went to 98? It's as if it is some sort of blocked as the higher i rev it the faster it seems to get hotter.
  2. Yeah it is water cooled m8, It's an rs125. Might be this thermostat? How do i check if it is goosed or not?
  3. Last 2 days the temps on my bike have started going through the roof. When i warm my bike up in the morning i start it up then go make a brew then get on when it is over 60. But these last few days when i have come back to see if it is warm enough then tempo has been mid 90's I'm like wtf, i renewed the thermostat about 6 months ago but know these are temperamental to say the least so it could of gone again? How do i test to see if it is knackered and needs renewing again? And also the engine oil burns very quickly and i have to renew it often, i think an oil seal has gone in the engine so it burns engine oil miles quicker? I've been told that it will be fine just make sure it is at the correct levels. It is low now so I'm going to top it up once it has cooled down to cold again. I've also bled the water system by unscrewing the screw on the radiator and removing then putting back the screw on the water hose pipe. Didn't do much that though. Does anyone know what else could cause it? Thanks
  4. Hopefully m8 Thanks for the help all
  5. So it's probably just water hitting the engine? Or is it something more serious? As i just went for a spin then for half hour. And it was fine, didn't happen once...
  6. No it's in a garage m8, does get damp in there though. I can't really tell where it is coming from as by the time i take the tank off, the steam has gone????? Water levels are still full and the compression is exactly the same. I'll go for a spin now n see if it does it agin. I'll post back
  7. Any ideas anyone please?
  8. Yeah defiantly steam m8. Wasn't smoke. Weird thing is it didn't do it on the way home? Just starting off since it has been in the garage for 2 days not running before i went work this morning.... Could it be the gasket?
  9. Hi all. Getting fed up of all this of late. I went out about a week ago for a ride, after about 15 mind riding, steam started only a bit, coming out the side of my bike from under the tank. Now, was on the way to work this morning, and yet again it done it but this time there was quiet a bit of steam coming from under the tank? I checked the water level and it is full. Couldn't see where the steam was coming from as i had to pull over and check it out. The temps on my bike are totally normal. But don't forget, I've been having quiet a few starting problems and today was no exception. Could it be the head gasket on my engine? Of simply water running off the frame onto the engine? As it didn't do it at all coming home b4. Any idea would be great... Thanks
  10. I've sorted it somewhat. Just there is smoke billowing out where the 2 screws/bolts are missing. The smoke goes after riding so it ain't too bad. I'll lose power at top end i know. I'll buy a another standard end can for under 50 squid hopefully. And get this f**king cat sorted out once n for all. This bike will now be my last 12 f**king 5. Onwards n upwards now.
  11. Another problem, caused by me lol. I just went to take the can off my exhaust pipe. One screw came off stiff but ok and there is a thread bolt still there. But the other 2 bolts snapped off :S Is there a way to remove the broken bolts and put some more screws in? As it will just spin round now the end can seeing how the other 2 bolts are broke.. What an ass i am. And there is a cat in the exhaust. Just done what someone told me to do and prod down the pipe and it stopped. That's solved got to take it out now but now i have this problemo. Marvellous. Any help would be great thanks.
  12. Hi all Was coming home from a 30 min spin yeserday, when suddenly, the noise in 3rd gear only went really high pitched and a wheezing type of sound. I thought great, I'll have to f**king use me mountainbike to work now ffs Razz Anyway, my clutch cable snapped about 2 months ago and this was the exact noise my bike made, in 3rd gear again just before my cable went pop. So now I've just checked my engine oil and there is fucka ll in it hardly from what i can see. Definatly not at the levels it should be. I only toped the engine oil up whern i renewed my clutch. So i know know the wheezing noise is because of there not being enough engine oil in my bike. But how can the engine burn that much oil off in the matter of 2 months? Any help tips would be great Smile And where can i get an aprilia rs 125, fully serviced? And i mean the engine everything in the Manchester area? How much would it all cost? Thanks
  13. I think it was something to d with either my choke cable not being in the right position as i just moved the cable and seated it in a different position and now it 's working Or either it was something to do with my air filter as the sponge might of been the wrong way round or something mad like that. Anyway. I haven't ridden it yet but now it is idling normally and shoots past 7000 rpm as normal Thanks all... Mission accomplished
  14. It's weird because , i started it up before from cold and it ideled for like 10 seconds then cut out. There was loads of smoke to that's sounds like the choke is on? When removing the carb, i tried removing the chock cable off the carb but it wouldn't because it was stuck in the carb(the screw). So i tried the other way by removing the left hand switch off my handlebars, then removed the choke cable that way. When i put it back together there doesn't seem to be as much movement in the choke now? But there is no other way the choke cable can go into the switch. It's as if the choke is on that's why it keeps cutting out? Here's a pic of the micture screw i think where the problem lies? http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/7089/dsc00644.th.jpg Is this correct the way i have this mixture screw? With the washer and the o ring on the actual screw? Or do i have to put the o ring and the washer in the mixture screw hole in the carb first then put the actual mixture screw in? Does this mixture screw even have a washer and o ring?
  15. Bikes an rs 125, 28mm carb. Well, I've been getting spluttering at high revs of late. So i took it off my bike to go n try n clean the carb. As i was taking it apart, and a few removed jets later. A washer and o ring just fell out. I haven't the foggiest where it come out from. Checked the haynes and it looks like it has come from the mixture screw once i removed it. Anyway put it back together. Won't tick over at all now or even go over 7000 rpm. I've truly f*cked something up here. I have not done to much to it, just removed the screws. No bowls nothing. Any ideas as to how n get it to some sort of standard way again please? f*cked right off at,.
