  1. I've just downloaded this too, but only the free version so far. Was that 72 videos you got then? Sounds useful. Test is booked for Nov 3rd and I'll start preparing in earnest next week. I've been driving for a good few years, so hopefully much of it will be familar, but I know I'll need to read up on the highway code. How much has car driving experience helped others with learning to ride? If you upgrade to the £2.49 version it gives you the hazard perception videos and you just tap your phone screen instead of clicking a mouse. The graphics arent 100% as they are older videos (can tell by the cars in the vids) but it must have helped as when it came to doing it on the theory test computer at the test centre i got 70 out of 75. The new videos are computer generated and not real live videos
  2. took a cancellation today instead of 3 weeks time. Passed 1st time (thankfully) downloaded an app on my phone called motoTest from the play store in the samsung shop. £2.49 got you all the questions and some hazard perception videos (72 i think) A week of doing the Q&A and i was straight through no hassle. The place in Glasgow wasnt quite as strict, just asked to make sure your phone was off.
  3. I bought a YBR 125 after i passed my CBT. Bought all the correct gear, no point spending a grand on a bike and £300 on the stuff that keeps you safe. I got my YBR 17k miles, years MOT, just had £480 spent on it. Crash and drop free. Ive done around 300 miles so far on it and i love it £880 all in i paid. They go for around £900-1000 up in scotland so hopefully with a wee bit of cleaning and a fresh MOT i will get my £880 back when i go for my big bike test.
  4. has anyone any experiences of doing their module 2 test at the hamilton test centre as opposed to shieldhall?
  5. i only did my CBT yesterday but i had all my own gear minus trousers (i had heavy duty work trousers on) the other guy on my test rocked up in a pair of ripped jeans, a hoody and chewed up boots. had to wear the 'store gear' he said he was stinking when he took it all back off
  6. I passed my CBT yesterday. There was 4 of us in the waiting room, turned out 2 people waiting were there as they weren't of a good enough standard for the road ride on the 1st attempt. The 3rd guy would be the guy with me all day and it turned out he had already passed a CBT, ridden a bike for a year etc. I bought a YBR125 and literally got a quick once round my housing block the day before with my dad who has ridden for 40+ years. Felt like i was comparing myself to him a lot as he got everything perfect almost each time, although he did manage to slam the front brakes a few times mid corner which sent him all over the place. I managed not to stall once on my CBT, the instructor (personally) i felt didnt teach me enough about using the clutch at low speeds and also for cornering by not fully extending the clutch out as a few times i flung the bike wide at corners on the off road side (their track wasn't great, slight gradient and also very tight compared to the streets) I really fluffed the figure of 8. the other guy zoomed ahead did it in one. Instructor never told me really how best to do it and to this day i still haven't really got a clue, although i managed it eventually i think it was luck i got it. Road ride was really good, instructor was good and very precise over the radio and he made us feel comfortable. only twice did he need to tell us off, guy with me cut infront of someone at a roundabout and i was too far left on a roundabout going straight on. Both of us passed and i genuinely think we both did well, i have done 150 miles on my wee YBR since yesterday and loving it, although you sure as hell notice the bad drivers. Going to get some make shift cones and go to a car park and practice
  7. I got the axcess 2 helmet for £199.00 last week on a website - firecrest. They have a store about 5 minutes from me and the woman in there did a full fitting for me. An excellent price for that helmet. it should have been nearer £300.00
  8. well done i am booked in for mines in 2 weeks time I'm currently working in bridge of weir, maybe see you scoot by
