  3. Did I ? Maybe I did say that but from what perspective ? Having said that , I'm not specifically recommending that anyone buy a new bike on finance . It could be a classic bike or just something you've got a hankering for .

  4. You've changed your tune chap - I buy bikes on finance and I recall you having strong words! I agree though. Just bought a BMW M4 (on finance obvs) - probably my last oil burner.

  7. I haven't given up all hope. yet. The Schloss know the situation but have not asked me anything about cancelling, Im not expecting them to unless or until they are approached for a booking for our week in which case I think its only fair to cancel at that point. Which I will do. Then there is the possibility of going to France, this might be the more likely outcome. A mad autoroute dash east from the Tunnel to the Vosges on the Sunday, 4 days there and then a slightly more relaxed ride back to Calais over 2 days. Perhaps returning to the Municipal site at Eperney for the overnight on the Friday. Something like that. I will find out the exact rules about Germany, if we can enter even if we cannot 'stay'. The Vosges are just across the Rhine from the Black Forest and it would be nice to visit for a day trip, so to speak. And revisit the south end of the B500 to the Swiss border. But all this depends on what happens over the next 8 weeks. It's beginning to get a little tight. But.. there is still hope. Changes especially once the School holidays begin, changes that will perhaps carry over to when the School holidays finish. All we can do is wait and see.

  12. It's part of the water pump it fits behind the impeller, I assume it's to prevent the coolant going into the engine block, but when it starts to fail there is a weep hole which allows fluid to vent to the outside as an indicator that something is amiss, like with mine which was split.

  17. It's very simple . Choose a well known brand such as EK , Regina or DID . The next bit is easy , the more you pay , the better the chain . For the sprockets just get JT .

  20. I think I have fixed it, didn't have a big enough diameter heatshrink so an alternative needed to be found, and believe it or not I used the neck of a balloon and the glue from a puncture repair kit. I have it all back together in the casing ready to be fitted back on the bike, I will do that in the morning and get it filled back up with fluids and take it for a test ride

  25. It's this rubber grommet type thing what has split, it fits inside a spring which is behind the impeller. The fix I have in mind is to use some heat shrink to bond over it, nothing to lose by trying

  26. No spares currently available for Xena, so for the time being I will keep my rides short and only for important duties. I did however replace the innertubes on my bicycle and washed it in the shower you gotta love having a wet room So at least if Xena is out of commission I still have some transport, trust this to happen since selling Bridget
