  3. We fancied a long ride but without returning same day so we opted for Berwick upon tweed. a 200 mile trip. Mostly to prepare for the nc500 where we have to ride for 430 to before we can start it. not much to some, but new to us. Anyway, we had an amazing trip, rode awesome and didnt ache too much after.. Stopped at the Angel of the north on the way. We avoided motorway where possible but the A1 near Scotland is actually really nice..

  4. Well its now official I am the owner of an R1200RT Pick it up on Tuesday I went to look at it yesterday and put a deposit down pending a test ride today and comparing it to the FJR its so much better in everyway! It feels lighter despite being heavier it handles effortlessly and soaks up the crap roads as if you are floating on a carpet! As a result I had to have it

  5. Ragged the titts off it. Yesterday, but still. Way prefer to it the new car which, whilst fun for a car, is less fun even than a 125.

  8. I bought a Kawasaki Z650 after a break from biking of about 20 years. I’m 60 now and I thought a bike would be a bit of fun again occasionally on nice days. Actually it has been more than I ever imagined. Being a sad widower, my main interest really is sailing a boat I keep in North West Scotland. I am using my bike to travel between Yorkshire and my boat. I have to admit that I enjoy riding the bike as much as I enjoy sailing my boat. That wasn’t expected. So apologies for my ramblings. But I’m thinking now of upgrading to a new Ducati Monster. Wondering if that is a bit over the top? I won’t ride it any quicker than my Z650 … I suppose I’ve always hankered after a Ducati and the Monster seems the most appropriate? … I have to say there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Z650 and although it isn’t a touring bike it copes fine with some luggage. I will attach a pic of my bike loaded when I recently left Portavadie. Which is where I keep my boat. … and if you are wondering. Yes I am in my boat in Scotland today. And yes it is raining. … not sure what my question is exactly, think it is should I buy a Ducati Monster?

  11. Good evening. I have a holiday beer in hand after much meandering around Lakeland fells today. A short walk of seven miles with 3000 feet of ascent. A bit wearing as most ascent and descent was on steep or tricky to negotiate ground. Still, the views were pretty good.

  13. Put 400 miles on the Himalayan ... Rotherham to Aylesbury ... then Aylesbury to Rotherham. Neither route direct but via Jacks Hill Cafe on the way down. 2 sausage, fried slice and beans, cup of tea (shark fin) ... sat in a cafe .... great !!! Spent an hour at Chiltern Railways doing sander stuff ... so fuel and brekkie were on work and a grand day out ....

  25. Okay in principle but what happens when you have people who can't park for toffee or those bellends that need to take up 2 spaces. There needs to be some serious brainstorming to actually make it viable, and the people that are trying to push this through so quickly have no common sense to see the pitfalls in front of them. I am all for saving the planet but this is not the right way to go about it.

  26. Even I look at that pic of my 650 at Portavadie and think what’s wrong with that … after taking it I went for a piss and another boat owner said he wished he was going for the ride on my bike! While we were both pissing lol

  29. Yes I think you should try one, and maybe a few others, the 950 multistrada may be a better match for the distance stuff.

  34. The problem with WD40 is it can attack certain plastics and make them brittle, on the model railway forums we advise newbies to avoid it like the plague as it causes damage to locos and rolling stock

  36. I have just bought the cbr600 f sport from a dealer, priced @ 2495 with 24000 on the clocks. Only 4 owners from new and full service history. The bike store is going to service it, put a full not on it and give me 3 months warranty. I think this is a bargain. And they are going to deliver it to my house. Winner winner chicken dinner

  39. Not knowing your route, I'm assuming you're transiting through France, have a look at Logis Hotels, traditional establishments in towns and villages www.logishotels.com/en/ alternatively plan your route and google accommodation in the town or village you want to stay, simple really.

  43. I used to work for a automobile manufacturer & took a minor role in a specific capacity resolving issues on the periphery of their new all electric vehicle launch. In a meeting I heard the following exchange: Person A : “What is the predicted solution for charging vis-à-vis multiple occupancy dwellings e.g. flats” Person B : “Any early adopters affording this vehicle will not be living in a bloody flat” I choked on my luke warm coffee & ginger nut biscuit, no one else blinked an eye!! That was 3 1/2 years ago … wonder if the attitude has changed?

  45. Added a servo buddy to improve the acoustics of the bike. Decided to give it a whirl to test it out and ended up discovering an absolutely stonking biking route through Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. Miles and miles of country lanes with almost flawless tarmac and beautiful scenery to boot.
