  1. Take your time! Your'e the dealers' best friend for as long as the cash is still in your pocket! And it's a good feeling when you know you've got the bike you were looking for. So what about the Z1000SX? The MV TV 800?? Sounds like you're not into adv bikes, but you might look at the Tiger 900: the engine is at least as good as the MT09. How did you find the F900R.

    Ow do

Welcome in, and all the best with the new bike
  3. Ooops really should have read more before replying!
  4. You've got to decide why you're doing the trip - what's your main goal? Are there any other things you want to achieve? It might sound daft, but, ask yourself too why are you going by bike. For example, when I'm doing a bike trip on the bike, my only aim is to ride fun roads. So I steer clear of cities, big towns, and head for hills. I don't really care where I end up, as long as the tarmac is good. 200 miles is day is more than enough of that kind of riding. Others might want to go and see the Colisseum and visit the Uffizi and are happy to sit on motorways to do so; depending on your bike, 350 miles a day isn't that ambitious for that kind of riding. And then others are after a chilled time away from civilization; perhaps 50 or 100 miles a day is plenty for them. And then there are a few who want to travel as far as they can in the time available; who knows what they will cover in a day. Anyway, there are some numbers: pick your profile and you'll have a guideline to help you start planning.
  5. When did you get your Daytona, @smallfrowne??? Do we get to see pics?
  6. NC29 is an amazing bike, but it's a very fast machine. I'm not sure I'd recommend it to start out on. Electrics are known to be dodgy. They're a good bike if you're fond of spannering. Don't get the VanVan. You will be disappointed. It's not that it's a bad bike, but it's just not what you're looking for. I'd have thought you're better off going for something along the lines of an ER5 or an older SV650. If you're into supermotos, consider the DRZ400SM too - it's a surprising bike. Not fast on paper, but very fast when it's actually on the road.
  7. You too? I had a 2001. Fun machine.

    Hello

Wowzer. Amazing what you can learn on this site.
  9. Seems to me that MV are late to the adv party, and when they turn up they've come dressed as a Ducati. I mean, what's happened to all that motorcycle art thing they're meant to do?
  10. Happy birthday mate.
  11. Welcome in. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the CB500X.

    Hello

Yo??? What kind of word is that? Good grief youngsters today mutter mutter dribble.
  14. That's like the end of Cinderella, but written by bikers.
  15. I've put some on the MV. Keeps the fairings off the ground should it go over. Which has happened.
