  1. The scariest near miss I've had was not on a bike but a rented 50cc scooter on holiday, coming back from the beach 2 up with my wife on the back coming round a downhill right hander the road was covered in sand and the from wheel went, not much I could do, I just concentrated on trying to keep it upright and luckily it found some grip just in time. My bike at the time was a 1600 softail and I nearly came a cropper on a moped
  2. The bike sold this afternoon, bank transfer into current account now moved to savings account. Thanks Everyone
  3. I have a couple of people coming to look at the Enfield, if someone buys it what's the best way to take payment?
  4. I'm selling my Enfied, I've had it a couple of years, it's 2014 and has 10,800 miles on it new MOT and new gel battery, it has electric start as well as a kick start. Good looking naked bike and ideal as a commuter bike. £2,300
  5. After much thought I have decided to sell my Enfield, I bought it mainly to go to the gym after they closed the bus stop near me, it's a great little bike for nipping about town but I don't do that anymore. My previous bike was a Harley and although I'm unlikely to be able to afford one of those again I may buy a copy. Am I allowed to advertise my bike for sale on here?
  6. Good news it passed this morning, bad news it's only done 140 miles since the last MOT
  7. I picked up the battery this afternoon, I've fitted it and taken the bike for a run,the MOT is booked for tomorrow morning, I have checked the lights tyres and brakes so it should be OK. It was good to get out on it for a short run, I went to Lyndhurst but spun round at the start of the village, solid traffic with too many caravans.
  8. It's not just damp, if any socket looks slightly heated or burnt it could be that.
  9. My daughter had this in her kitchen and only when I went and was able to check the resistance to earth with my test set (I used to do this as part of my work) I traced the fault to some bad wiring behind the kitchen units. I disconnected that part of the circuit leaving 1 socket not working and it was all ok until I replaced her kitchen and rewired the socket. But without a test set it's very hard to locate the fault. As others have said the first thing to do is swap the RCD's over to try and confirm it is a fault on the circuit and not a faulty RCD.
  10. It could be almost anything, you have to disconnect everything apart from the fridge freezer which has to be on, if it doesn't trip keep adding one at a time until it does. The problem is it's not always the last thing that has the fault. Most likely things are those that have water and electricity kettle immersion heater washing machine dishwasher etc. It may pay to call in a sparkly they have equipment to test the RCD and the resistance of appliances.
  11. I got to check today and the battery is Donald I had a problem locating a new battery but I've got one now, it's AGM but it won't be here until after I leave for a short break with the caravan so it will be a week before the bike is back on the road
  12. I've thought about it and I'm keeping it for now
  13. I thought AGM batteries needed a different charging setting.
