Having just got my first car with DLR's I am going to admit to doing this once or twice.
- My DLR's are bright enough that you think you have your headlights on.
- The switch for headlights is on the dash hidden behind your right arm.
- As you rightly say your dash lights stay on all day.
So yes now I have to think to put my lights on. All the normal clues to put lights on have been taken away.
Strangely for me it is not when it's getting dark or poor visibility, then I normally remember them then. It's when I get in the car off a night.

Simply put no you can't
Unless you're under instruction and insured for it

Need to fit a new indicator again for various reasons (fecking bike obeying the law of gravity).
Have got one of these
But it won't crimp small enough for the bullet connectors to stay on. I'm probably just being thick, but sometimes my beauty absorbs too much of my brain power.
The connectors that they crimp are poor! get the crimp set that @V650 recommends and buy some decent connectors like this type
https://www.automotiveconnectors.com/connector-terminals.html
you can then create crimps and connectors that are as good as or better than OEM
You can also buy decent superseal connectors and create a removable watertight connection
The possibilities are endless with a decent set
soldered joints can go brittle due to vibration

@husoi mentioned about a TMBF App thats available
Its not an app as such but uses the browser to create a shortcut that can be used like an app providing a direct link to the forum.
I have copied and pasted the information below from the Invision community website so you can "install" it if you so wish
There is also some info on Mobile notifications too
Invision community provides support for push notifications on mobile devices. This will allow you to get notifications on your phone, even when you do not have your browser open, to alert you of new content on followed items and more.
The following will show how to set this up on iOS and Android devices, on their default
On apple devices, when visiting the community, you can click on the "Share" icon at the bottom of the page to add this to your home page.
You will see "Add to Home Screen" at the bottom of the list
It will allow the user to change the name of the icon they will add to their home screen should they wish to do so, then will add it to the home screen as a native application, which you can then move around as you can with any other application
On android devices, when visiting the community you will be shown at the bottom of the page (chrome is used in this example) that you can add the application to your home page
If you do not see this, you can select the browser menu, where you can then find the option to add the application to your home page
Once selected, you will be prompted to add it, which will then show on your desktop. Of course you can move this around as you can with any other application.
Once this is added, if you wish to get push notifications, you will need to switch them on. Click on the item that has just been created to open your community (ensure you do it from the new application icon). Once in there go to the following location
Menu->Bell Icon->Notification Settings
At the bottom of the page, click to enable browser notifications under the "Push" section

I have a set of Clarke micrometers
Recommended by my brother who is a CNC machinist and he gets them calibrated for me if I need to through his work
surprisingly very accurate for the price!

unfortunately didn't work. It sounds like it's lazily trying to crank but just not getting there. Any ideas?
The battery is screwed from standing! Get a new one on it and it should be sorted

I have these
https://www.currys.co.uk/products/tplink-deco-x20-whole-home-wifi-system-triple-pack-10222658.html
On in the living room one upstairs and one in the garage
this gives me a good connection all through the house to the front garden and in to the back garden there is no dead spots within my boundary and it does extend further than that
The furthest each one is away from each other is 12 metres or so

Even with the V5C I don’t think Aprilla will be able to cut me a key though, right? Assume they’d need the code that came with the keys when new, which I won’t have.
Does this mean a new barallel?
With all the correct information and the right to ownership they can cut you a key and do the alarm and immobiliser if fitted too

Some bikes have a back torque limiter built in to the clutch
It's a cheaper slipper clutch really!
When the engine is spinning below a certain amount or revs it releases pressure on the clutch springs this works two fold by lightning the clutch action but also allowing the plates to slip on overrun preventing rear wheel lock up on down shifts
When above a certain rev range they make the clutch springs pull tighter on the plates and its this that causes the grabby clutch
This is a common problem on some Suzuki's and Kawasaki's so might be worth checking if you have one!
A solution to this on the suzuki TLs/r was to weld the clutch centre to stop it operating

Talking about Garmin, has anybody had the frustrating experience of trying to update a set of maps from garmin and being told it will take about 10 hours to download ?
Have any TomTom users had experiences like this ?
2-3 hours here!
It estimates it off your connection speed
Mine then proceeds and takes about 10 mins from start to finish

Serviced it today!
First one that BMW haven't done

Hi and welcome to the forum
Have you tried a new battery?
-
Yeah it might be worth doing although like others on here I always keep my last photocard licence and never send it back due to horror stories like this

Incidently, when they asked me yesterday if I had any evidence to prove I had done the test I asked if they had any evidence to prove I didn't
Touche
I have just checked my licence online in the hope that you could print it off as evidence but I don't think they would accept that

Sounds like its going the right way

Just a word about the Monimoto - make sure that where you live you have mobile signal. I went to buy one but they told me that living in an area with no mobile signal meant it wouldn't work.
It will wait till you have a signal plus it will work off the weakest of 2g signals
Pretty sure they all work off the GPRS network otherwise how would you be able to track it?
-
Fingers crossed you can get it sorted!
Let us know how you get on
-
hi @Blade929 welcome to the forum
That could well be the case!
There has been a lot of stories of this and unless you can prove otherwise they will say you never had it and you will have to sit your test again
Post a pic of the back of your licence

I have the the Monimoto tracker.
Pro's. I don't have to hard wire it to the bike, I can transfer it from bike to bike.
Con's, you have to subscribe to their or a sim, £36 per year, theirs covers all Europe. You have a little fob to attach to your person/keys.
I get a message every day to say it is working and the app has the battery signal/life etc. It uses lithium batteries, replace every two years.
It will ring and/ or send a text message if the bike is knocked or moved, I can start active tracking if it has been stolen along with the tracker key fob, it pings regular locations. (I had it on the 1290 when I had an accident - I had to laugh, I tracked the recovery driver and he was amused when I quizzed, him why he took the route he did when returning the bike along with the speed he was travelling).
As you are aware, there are many available, but I managed to get a promo code and it was less than £150 at the time. Had it for a couple of years now.
Although mine sends me a message every 15 days not every day! its user selectable
