  4. They are twisty. And bumpy, with sheer drops and death stalking you at every turn. But other than that, they're ok.
  5. Oh, and what were we gonna change Frankie's subtitle thing to, techno? "I'm lost", or "I get lost a lot", i can't quite remember!

  14. Planning a ride out on Sunday the 4th July. The initial idea is to take in some nice scenic roads up to or around Newcastle, have lunch then come back. Simples! Route (provisional): Meet somewhere near/in Kendal, possibly the petrol station on A6 Shap Road, heading north to Carlisle on A6. Take A69 to Newcastle, have lunch. Heading back along the A69 but turning off to Alston, then over Harside top, down into Penrith, then probably to Devils then home. Google maps reckons about 2 1/2 hours to newcastle, so I was thinking a meet up about 10am, to be in newcastle for lunch. Ish. Anyone interested, post below!
  15. Just been for a ride to Carlisle for the 500 mile service on my new bike ('59 Suzuki GSX650F), and a nice ride back through the sunny Lake District. All I can say is now that I have free reign over the full rev range, I am very impressed by the bike and now that I've had it for 2 months I can honestly say i'm glad I bought it. The torque is fantastic, it will pull from under 2k rpm in 6th gear without struggling, and it is very smooth, comfy and is still doing 200 miles to a tank. I know there are plenty more powerful bikes out there, but this feels like a big step up from the bandit 6 in terms of power and handling, and I enjoyed every minute of the ride today, even going over Shap, which is possibly the worlds most boring and sh*te covered road! Bring on summer now, got lots of riding to be doing!!!
