  1. Yay, 'Busa and a Kwak! I'll be on the back of Fozzie's bike - see you in the morning. Hope you can make it too Mister Rickaaaay!
  2. I think this will make Fozzie very happy! My 125 isn't so healthy these days though to join in, and I sometimes scream too much on the back of his bike ... Nah was just being silly, I do like how sexy and ugly they are at the same time, but that would be *quite* the jump from a CBF125 ...and I love Kwaks too much! Maybe a green 300 or an ER6-F some day. Doubt it'll be any day soon though. We just moved to our first house, new job and saving for a wedding! ...we don't do things by halves!
  3. Bah, I need to do my test and get a big bike! Too much to save for atm! Though I'd probably take it easy and catch up when everyone is done eating their butties and drinking tea anyway! I'll get one of these I reckon...
  4. Hiya, Said I'd check in when I got back but couldn't get enough signal on my phone (no internet in the house yet!) - I've just gone to work to use their internet. Really glad I went today to show our support and on behalf of Chris who couldn't get the time off work (both recently started new jobs with no holiday as we have to take it at Christmas - but mine can be more flexible). Was nice to be able to say goodbye to the lovely guy I wish I'd met in person - and to give Cat and co all a hug and have a chat before heading home in the fog. Beautiful service, and love that the priest is a hardcore biker too. Great send off, amazing turnout, and lovely to see lots of forum members there too. See you all soon I hope x PS - Still crazy embarrassed I was sat next to Owen and didn't actually recognise him with his hair cut!!! Only I could manage that! Sorry lovely!!!!
  5. I'll see you all there - Fozzie can't get out of work unfortunately. I don't have any holiday left but I've done them a whole lot of favours so far, now it's my turn (and luckily they're very nice people and understanding). Won't be on Ermintrude/Erminturd though as she's in need of repair! Will be nice to see all who are going, but so sad as to why x
  6. Lil donation from moo cos I already donated to Aaron's charity today. Well done Bob! x
  7. Pass The Bomb is a fantastic, simple and fun board game...unless you suggest your dad plays it forgetting that he lost his arm to an IRA bomb... *oops*!!! (I genuinely don't see him as any different to anyone else, hence the major hiccup!)
  8. This! My dad rented to DSS for 10 years. The woman ended up squatting for a number of months, completely f***ing destroyed the place!!! Kids were well known scrotes who helped with the graffitti and holes in walls & stairs, destroyed tiles and shower, kitchen was a mess with cupboard doors ripped off, surfaces burnt and discoloured and damaged, only a few lightbulbs working in the house, place was a filthy dump. He got the kitchen & bathroom re-fitted, holes filled in, new carpets everywhere etc etc, still sold for a profit but left in such a state. Also, I worked for his inventory business for 5 or 6 months as a clerk, and I saw a good few grim check-outs (most were ok with minor defects & cleaning issues). If you rent, get yourself a thorough inventory done by a reputable company (you get what you pay for, check their sample reports before to make sure they are thorough and take photos) - they will usually do mid-term inspections cheap for you, and get the same company to do the check-out report if you can. All damage will be thoroughly noted - and yes, that included things like knife-marks (if more than fair wear and tear) and burns on worktops, bicycle tyre marks on curtains, missing items, acid marks on sinks, soiled mattresses, broken windows, oil trodden on carpets etc. Tenants don't always have to pay the full price to replace some larger damaged items (e.g - burn mark on carpet, tear on sofa), but they have to pay towards it at least, and obv allows for fair wear and tear. At the end of the day the tenants should look after the property they rent, and have to have it professionally cleaned if you paid for that when they moved in etc - all noted on the inventory. And if they really do trash the place, you will have a full report and photographic evidence to back you up if you take them to court. I look forward to not having to rent anymore, and to never have to deal with the TDS again. Have mostly had awful landlords/estate agents in the past who try to fleece you for every penny. My dad has come in handy for this in the past luckily! Good luck with whatever decision you make Mr Fro! I'd recommend my dad's inventory company (http://www.smart-inventory.co.uk), but you're a bit far away from London & Kent for his little electric Smart car!

  10. No. No. Nooooooooooooooo. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Oh god this is just awful. Really feeling for everyone who knew him, Cat's family - and sending lots of love to Maia in particular. Never met in person and really gutted not to have now, but chatted on here and facebook, he was a big part of TMBF, someone I always really enjoyed reading posts from - so passionate about biking, genuine and funny. Was only giving him dental advice the other day!! Was so chuffed for him when he passed his test and got his lovely black Kwak. So unbelievably sad. Such a loss to everyone, seemed like such a genuinely lovely guy. So not fair. I'm not the best for words, don't know what to say - I will never forget him, and just feel for those who knew him so much x
  11. Hahaha, nah, still totally in love with bikes and biking too - like most I've packed it in possibly for the winter for now cos of the weather getting all miserable, and also cos I'm not fond of her rattling getting worse. May pop out for a ride with or on the back of the Fozzle Fazer on a nice day to see more of the area we're mooving to! Will pick it up again and get my full license sorted next year . Still thrilled every time we get a bike/scooter riding patient or find out it's a common interest with a stranger (when in the Smart dealership yesterday I chatted to a guy about our cars then bikes for about half an hour ). Still love em, still turn my head every time I hear one approaching, guessing what it might be before I see it (Fozzles is the amazing at this!). Ermintrude is currently tucked away safely between some bigger buddies in Fozzie's dad's garage til we moove to our new home...she looks happy here ...
  12. Pretty much!!! I can't even explain to you how much I love Berty!!! (Don't worry, I don't normally address my car by its name!). It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I see it...I can't wait to get the Christmas decos in there in December!! Gutted I have to dye my hair a different colour to the blue as I have job interviews next week - tho tbf I always dye my hair red for Christmas ! He got a clean bill of health on the first MOT today *yay*! I pretty much just rode to a doctor's appointment since I passed my test because there's no parking - bike still runs fine, I still had fun, cut out on the way there cos I didn't have much petrol - probably mostly evaporated haha! Fozzles is gonna hopefully sort my engine/clutch issues out over the winter in our new garage *with power* (aka his new little piece of heaven!) so I can ride Ermintrude again next year when the weather brightens and warms up. But tbh....I just really want a bigger bike. We moove next week too...I'll have all the fun roads to enjoy a bigger bikey on. Will defo do mod 1 and 2 next year no matter what...and see how it goes on buying a bigger bike as lots of expensive stuff happening next year - but can always borrow Fozzie's ! And looking possible I could get a job with better pay, which would be awesome and defo help with saving! Not really been on the forum much cos I haven't been on the bike in ages, don't feel like I have much to contribute! - missed you guys though!
  13. this is a very good point see the two bollards laid on the deck? circled red I took these out with my legs! shin protectors worked Holy sh*t, when did this happen?!!?! Hope you're alright - I haven't been on the forum in a while...you'll probably tell me it was 5+ years ago or something though! The trainers do look cool, but it's winter anyway, could do with a bit more protection surely?
  14. Oh shite, sorry GOG - Fozzie just pointed out your posted this *TWO DAYS AGO*! I thought it was today - might be quicker and easier tagging me in cow stuff on Facebook like everyone else (half my photos are me tagged as cows, I swear!)...my presence on TMBF tends to be a bit patchy so I can easily miss stuff like this!
  15. I do this thing called work in the week. It's a bit pants, I wouldn't recommend it ! I don't even get to use a computer there, and I'll be effed if I'm using TMBF on my phone - pain in the arse! Where did ya find that GOG?! Love it! Did you have anything there?? We found this at Brighton Pier last year ... http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/10250228_1409658199302369_1711665396_n_zps5oughinp.jpg http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/10155832_1409662162635306_134632018_n_zps8dvquz5e.jpg
  16. Haha, I only skim-read it, assumed it was a DAS/CBT instructor or something
  17. Might be worth a go!!! You could be their best applicant for all you know! Could at least enquire if you're interested - and watch some motorbike school teaching vids on YouTube to get an idea of what to say to students etc. I think you'd find the words if you had a noob to train though .
  18. Good luck! You will be fine, just put yourself in the mindset that you *will* pass. And even if you don't, it isn't the end of the world - you can just book another and get a few more lessons in before it. Don't stress. And if you do make a mistake, don't let it frustrate you. I thought I'd failed half way through my test when the instructor asked me to pull over and I indicated and started to and asked him if he *really* meant he wanted me to pull over on double yellows! Apparently there were single yellows before it but I hadn't noticed, and he seemed a bit peeved...but I didn't let it wind me up and just carried on as normal. I had a *shocking* mock test before my actual car driving test - and the lesson before my test went well though I made some manoeuvre mistakes that would have failed me on the test. And on the actual day all was fine, in fact the 3 point turn I did was the most beautiful one I'd ever done! I failed my mod 1 by clipping the cone right at the end on the swerve avoidance - and I'd been riding for 2 years at that point - you're already doing better than me!
  19. So my hours are going to be cut shorter at work and I was looking for an extra job/different temporary job/agency job until we move, and came across this on Reed... http://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/motorcycle-lecturer/27849289#/jobs/temporary?location=sm26rw Requirements:- > Motorcycle Qualifications > Teaching Qualification > Enhanced DBS or be willing to complete one > Industry experience Hope this might help someone in need of a career change with the right qualifications .
  20. Wishing Fozzles a very Happy Burfday today! http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/Chris%20bday%20card%206%20-%20FINISHED_zps9kirmwo6.jpg We are celebrating by driving 4 hours home form his parent's house ! (We went out for a meal last night with his fam). My birthday treat is to try to be less annoying in the car ! Have a fab day lovely xxx
  21. It's never too late to party http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/Holstein-cows-dance-party-in-grassy-sunny-meadow_art_zps90hymt8y.jpg Thankyou! I may be driving Chris' car some of the way home on the mootorway today (we're travelling from Manchester to SW London!). Oh em GEEEEE!!!
  22. Aww, only just seen this!!! I was just about to say yay passed my driving test last week, and also yay I just got back £100 I paid a driving company in April that I've spent *SO LONG* fighting to get back ! I had a god awful first ever lesson with the company Drive Dynamics; it took 21 phonecalls, 7 emails and a 26 page document sent to Barclays for a long investigation, I have now finally received *all* my money back that I paid upfront for lessons! I thought at most I'd get 9 hours of lessons back, but I got the full amount - including the money for the first 1 hour lesson. I am so grateful to Barclays - the lovely personal banker who spent almost an hour with me, their disputes team and advice from Citizen's Advice Bureau. Cannot believe the dreadful customer service from this company. My advice would be to only go on recommendations from friends and family in the future for anyone else considering learning to drive. It's costly enough without being ripped off and ignored!
  23. Epic congrats!!!! Hope you get that license back asap so you can go bike shopping. What are you thinking of getting?
  24. Bit more useful advice from someone who learnt the hard way: never object fixate. Ever! If you do cock up a corner, keep looking into the apex/where you want the bike to go, don't panic and look ahead - because that is where your bike will go. Always look where you want to go. I was always told don't brake in a corner, but if you absolutely *must* then try and straighten your bike up. Glad you're enjoying learning new things, though don't believe everything you read/watch/hear unless from reliable sources Don't think I've read anyone mentioning Twist of the Wrist - the biker's bible! Wish I'd watched this when I started (this is the cut version without the dreadful acting!) - starts off with countersteering too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWgb0MtgNlo At 3mins is what I think I did. Also think I had may have had clutch in somewhat (don't hold clutch in on corners!). But I'm not certain/can't properly remember as I think I was concussed. Mentioning this to help you to not make mine, and many others' mistakes. Keep enjoying yourself it only gets better!
