  1. if i remember rightly, chrissb6 was in the process of patenting the design of a trailer he made for the bike. not sure where he got to/what happened with it all but might be worth a pm or a chat!
  2. Turn the bars to the right to go round a left hand corner?
  3. I've had a similar problem to you before, do you have a long jacket? I used to do long rides and be bone dry apart from my stomach area, it was weird. the water was getting blown up between my trousers and jacket at the front either off the tank or straight up. either wear your trousers higher, or secure your jacket down at the front to stop the water being blown up it. or tuck a plastic bag or something into your waistband
  4. i always donate a few quid to this each year, unfortunately my 'tache is the weakest part of my facial hair. Ill put a picture up of my 7 month old beard later though so you can all have a good laugh!
  5. more like England will throw all of our budget and beg it to come to our country for "greater cultural enrichment and diversity" whilst all the other countries politely let us take the glory and snigger behind our backs.
  6. as a son who texts his mother from time to time... NEVER use the word "LOL" in a text. I don't care how young you are or how "cool" you think you are, the word "LOL" is not on! my mate had the best (or worst) text from his mum last year misusing the term lol. It read something along the lines of "Rich, really bad news, Grandpa passed away this morning. LOL x." LOL also stands for lots of love apparantly. Rich just thought his mum was really happy her stepdad had died and was being abit callous about it all! he had to sit her down and talk her through some of the more modern meanings of abbreviations so as not to upset anyone else in the future.
  7. if you think putting a jacket on is a bit of a faff, you have a whole new understanding of the word faff coming when you try to put on an all in one rain suit over leathers and boots. jacket looks nice though, refreshign to see some gear that isnt black!
  8. start a progressive weightlifting routine whilst you're still slightly above your target weight (stronglifts or starting strength are good places to start) then control your diet to take in 500 fewer calories than your body needs a day, and you'll lose fat and gain some muscle. edit: well done for losing the weight as well!
  9. damn, I always read your name as MealExme. wakes far more sense to have an alex in there somewhere! I think about food to much i think, minds always on the next meal Happy Birthday Alex!
  10. I like that you will soon be liking all of the suitably likeable posts. I would also like a dislike button
  11. I got my over trousers from a military surplus store, reasonably breathable and very waterproof for only about £25 i think. they also sell matching jackets but in either OG or black i didnt think id risk it. as cool as OG looks, it makes you damn near invisible on the bike.
  12. haha never seen the full version of this, only the first few bits! brilliant, cracks me up every time.
  13. closing into objective - gotta be in and out within 5 minutes to stand a good chance of getting away before the security turn up from the alarm being tripped. everyone ready? err, yep, sure guys, can we just wait here whilst i have a quick nap to get my NV working again? also every time you come into a lightpool you have to reset for another 5 minutes. quicker and easier to just drop £50 on these dont you think zod?
  14. I'd forgotten about this but it's a great idea! I've got quite a steep pitched roof and I've boarded out the "loft" to store all my junk so unfortunately it wouldn't work... Looks like I'll be dragging the other half round Maplin at the weekend. I'll let you know what I cobble together and how it pans out. The budget is going to be quite low and I'm keen to use as much crap that I already have as possible! a word of warning - wind up lamps never state how long you actually have to wind the damn things for. your missus will be there for the best part of 15 minutes winding the lamp up to get any decent amount of time out of it. I was staying at a camping place this weekend that provided wind up lanterns as a backup to candles. after winding furiously for 3 minutes to have the light die out in about 20 seconds i figured id just eat extra carrots for dinner to improve my night vision.
  15. Having flown in all classes before I'd you've never done it before its something you should. It's a completely different experience flying. If you can afford it do it on the way back to make the home trip blues slightly more manageable. If you don't want to spend 320 on an upgrade just think what you could spend it on when you're out there. The gold souks are incredible and the market places aren't anything like markets in England and you or the wife could easily spend 300 there on some nice treats to keep rather than the experience of flying posh Oh yeah, have a good trip you hard working lucky bast*rd!
