  1. I go through this quite often! Although my parents are quite tech savvy; it's with other people who want help just because they know I'm a Programmer.. It gets tiresome explaining the same thing for the 6'th time.
  2. Thanks for the advice above. The thing which gets me is that it will start with a booster pack attached... Also: The bike is run about 1-2 times a month. P.S - I changed the plugs etc + full oil change only a couple of days ago (the problem existed before this though).
  3. Hi, the bike is a Honda CBF1000. The bike turns over but wont start and then begins to click..(it shows voltage however). I replaced the battery with a brand new one today and the same still happens! However, when I attach a booster pack to it, it starts! The voltage is showing 12.68v and I charged the battery properly before installation etc etc.. any ideas? Thanks.
  4. How do you mean, sorry? When I apply the brakes, it brakes as it should, quite well still..
  5. My bikes front calipers seem to be staying open... i.e. When I try and spin the wheel it is very tight! I have taken both the front calipers off and removed the pistons and gave it all a clean. However.. this didn't fix it! I could push the pistons back in with my finger so I doubt it has to do with a seized caliper piston... any ideas what it could be and what I should do? I would appreciate it greatly, thanks. P.S - The bike is a GSX750F 02
  6. I have balanced some wheels before, which went fine. I would find the heavy spot and place the correct amount of weight opposite it until the wheel would not turn in any position. However, I am now having an issue with a current wheel and tyre.. I find the heavy spot and place weights opposite, only to find that a new heavy spot is formed in a random place and adding or decreasing the weight does not fix this.. at some positions the wheel will hold still, while moving at others.. I just cant seem to figure out why? I probably haven't explained it amazingly, but hopefully someone may know what I mean and what the issue is and how to rectify it. Thanks.
  7. The bike is a GSX750F 2002 Model. Here is what happened during the last 2 days (before this the bike was fine). I had an oil leak so I jet washed the front of the engine to remove all the oil and I found the oil leak, it was on the oil drain tube . I fixed this by using JB Weld. 2 Days ago I was riding and I filled the bike up with petrol, riding home that day I heard the bike sound strange (beefier) it sounded borderline harley. The bike was also losing performance power and when I dropped the gear down the bike cut out... It started up after a few tick overs, and I continued my way home normally. Today the bike did the same, but it happened 5 times on the way home (the last time I had to use a booster pack as the battery had fulled drained due to the engine constantly ticking over and not starting). To get the bike started again I would have to put full choke on and keep my finger on the starter switch. I have no idea what the issue could be... I have checked the bike battery while revving to 3k, and I get 13.70 volts. It is currently sat in the garage and will happily idle.. as well as rev healthy, it is strange.. Thanks for any info!
  8. I had a look at their website and the video of what the Doncaster store looks like - wow it is huge! I think I might give these a visit.. I might make a day from it Do you know of any more around Doncaster by any chance? Cheers!
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. I will be sending them back as I tried it on again today and the jacket definitely too tight.. The only down side is I do not know of any large leather clothing stockists. I live near Hull and the shops I know off only carry a limited amount.. does anyone know of any close? Oh, one last thing: On jackets, does the arm length vary on the size or are they set length's? Cheers.
  10. Hi, I have been wanting to get a 2 piece leather set (so I can wear the jacket + leather and jacket + kevlar jeans when appropriate). I had ordered a set which should have fitted me.. but.. they didnt The jacket fits fine around the chest etc.. but the arms are about an inch short.. (is it true the arms length does not vary depending on the jacket size?) Would the jacket 'stretch' out a little in time or would this not happen in the arm area? This is such a pain Thanks. Edit: The jacket also felt uncomfortable under my armpits, as if they were digging up. Oh, I am also 6'1 if this helps any? Perhaps taller rider = harder fit to find? I dont know :/
  11. Yeah, it is an aftermarket can. How would I know if it needed re-jetting? and how easy would this be? and how would I know which size jets etc? Thanks.
  12. Apologies for missing out some essential info. I am in a lecture at the moment, mind was a bit numb . Suzuki GSX750F Filter - Stock Exhust blow - I'm actually not too sure! Its about 2cm across (the joint) and probably only the width of a hairline.
  13. Hey guys, any clues on this? If I start at 0mph and go to 70 (lets say entering a motorway) if I give it hard rev's its all fine.. however, when I am doing about 30-40mph and have it drop down one gear ready for a fast pull away, the motorbike hesitates quite a bit until I put the gear up and lay off the rev's a little.. I do have a slight gap where my End can is and I can see all the black deposits which has been leaking out over time, could this be the issue, or something else? Thanks.
  14. The choke lever goes all the way back, how can I check if it is getting stuck? Also, how do I balance the carbs? Never touched the carbs on this bike before.. and the only carbs I ever cleaned was a 125 and that was not messing with floats or the screws etc. Cheers.
