    XJ600 issues

I cleaned up all the eartj connections and terminals and no more smoking cdi which is a good sign we put a tester on the battery while the bike was running it was showing just under 13 volts that's without the lights being on I heard that goes down not sure if that's ment to be reading roughly about that anyways I am replacing the coil tommorow hopefully it runs on 4 as normal blows no fuses and the cdi doesn't decide to smoke if all is well it should be fixed as for the meter showing what it showed do you think that because the coils down its showing the wrong reading ?

    XJ600 issues

Apoligies for my awful punctuality I have a meter there I will give it a check but this is the correct regulater rectifier off a running bike. But to be honest even after putting the new battery and rectifier on it was still blowing the ignition fuse and after the old cdi which I've replaced that started smoking its stopped blowing fuses and then stopped running on four cylinders so if I check the battery whilst the bike is on it should run no more than about 13 with the lights on if the reading is running higher I still have a charging problem ? And is it possible that one of the coil wires or both are fried ? Any idea why the smoke from the cdi ?

    XJ600 issues

Hello I have the XJ600 diversion 1992 model. Problem started I rode around 50. Miles liverpool to whitchurch and as I was arriving at my destination lucky or not so lucky the bike broke down and wouldent start so I rolled to a safe spot and pulled of the seat to see my battery was smoking basically fried that moment I assumed the battery was fried after a roadside recovery agent came out it was confirmed he then told me my rectifier was more than likely broken and blown a fuse so the ten amp fuse went in and it was working of his 12 amp pack he said to replace battery and rectifier and so I did and same issue kept blowing the fuse even with the new rectifier and battery on and then the cdi decided to smoke bike was switched off and the cdi was removed and replaced again to test the bike no longer blew fuses but was only running on 2 and 3 plugs 1 and 4 not arking I tested plugs in 2 and 3 with 1 and 4 plugs no plug issues just coils presuming due to lack of arking so I've ordered coils but I really truelly believe it won't fix the issue and help would be great because I am at a loose end I've had plenty of suggestions wire arking out somewhere the loom is fried the coils blew in the process of the break down anyone have any ideas at all would be apreciated very much.
  4. so after everything tested everything checked everything finaly found the solution inline four carb three was making it misfire we sprayed a touch of easy start into it and it fired like normal so the carb is being stripped the diapram was old and needed changing and the rest of the carb will be done and it should be right as rain this week
  5. I do indeed have a inline fuel filter fitted only recently fitted like how come ?
  6. so fitted the coils tonight seems to be riding well rode her for a good 2-3 hours yesterday then she started to gurble abit and wanted to cut out at the lights it is firing straight back up so i know the coils are fine i think that maybe the sparkplugs are abit old so i am going to replace those also it was firing on four and had a bit of a misfire as well so i am going to assume that the problem lies within the spark plugs or the carbs.
  7. No it definatly wasent the fuel buddy it was flowing freely I have got my coils ready to fit tonight
  8. And hear is the white block I was talking about http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewit ... 0614760391
  9. Cheers Matty I've bought Suzuki orignal coil pack rather than one of those chineese after market rubbish ones and the chineese ones has two slide on connectors that connect to the coil orange and white and the new coil suzuki one already has these connected the end of the Suzuki one has a white square male end where as the chineese junk had a slip in clip similar to indicator or infact the same I am wondering if I can cut of the white block and put on those slide in clips ?
  10. I tried the choke thing and it made no difference mate so I'm putting it down to carbs being blocked or coils hopefully
  11. It has bellmounts on mate yeah but it fires first time runs perfect for about 15 mins then starts to lose power and misfiring on cylinders like its finding it hard to get fuel through but when you stop it cuts out you then refire it maybe 5 mins later then it will run for a further half a mile then starts misfiring and the gradually comes to a hault presuming the coils have gained some heat somewhere along then line thus making it misfire but then again the carbs need a clean out I know that if the carbs where very bad if would have a different effect what would happen with the straight filters to your bike ?
  12. Cheers bought some tubing etc all is good now I rode her last night around 20 miles and now its misfiring on some cylinders we have concluded that it needs new Coils
  13. Cheers guys I know its a stupid question but usually on my bikes there located elsewhere cheers anyways
  14. Bit of a silly question but I. Come across a engine breather or at least I think that's what it is its on top of my engine head below the tank gs850 does it need a breather tube ?

    bleeding issue

okay so i summed up all my options the left caliper was finished so im going to sell it i converted my break into a single disk in the end the MC is for dual disk i know that so its been bled and its pretty solid but could be harder but i understand with it being the wrong bore size so i am going to put my after market one on which is for single calipers cant wait until its spot on MOT TAXED on wedensday and then ill be riding her i shall upload photos
