    STORAGE

no mate For all of the useful comments...thank you. My idea is similar to the lift top crate already highlighted. I only need the bike dimentions as the front wheel will be in a secure housing and no stand will be used.

    STORAGE

This may seem like a strange question. I'm looking at building a motorbike housing for production and aim to target the average bike you'd find in a dealership,no Harleys, Goldwings or big cruisers just sports, tourers and cross bikes. What would you say the max length, width, height from floor to top of mirrors and front wheel dimentions would be....thanks in anticipation.
  3. Bike barns are ok but don't weather that well and can look a little unsightly. The storage unit would tuck away neatly and is very durable.
  4. Plastic would have air vents. Bike wouldn't be supported inside of a normal style shed. Shed idea wouldn't work for the side on version.
  5. £500 was just a ball park figure. £300 may be more realistic
  6. Hi all. I am just awaiting confirmation on an idea that I have patented in order to start a business off. I have a small garden with no garage and my bike is stored under a cover all year round. My invention is a secure toughened plastic container just high enough long enough and wide enough to fit a bike in. This can fit into restricted spaces and the way it works is this. A base rather like a drawer slides out, the bike is wheeled onto the base and secured with padded retainers which can be adjusted to various wheel widths. The retainers secure the bike by its wheels then the base is pushed back into the container. The container door works rather like an overhead garage door. There are two models, one with the door at the end and one with the door at the front depending on the space you have available. The container is weather proof and can be secured to the ground. The beauty of this container is that it doesn't need to be as high or wide as conventional storage units thus saving valuable space in small gardens. Without working on all of the figures, if this was available to you for under £500 is it something that would interest you. Your thoughts are most welcome...Thanks
  7. I'm looking at purchasing a top box for my bandit 600,I need to get at least one helmet in there maybe two.Seen lots on ebay but it's a mine field...any advice (cheeper the better)
  8. I'm looking at spending £140 ish on two helmets.KBC's are quite reasonable on ebay as are AGV's.
  9. I understand what you are saying and you have a fair point.I have a friend who worked for a leading motorcyle accessories chain who have now gone out of business. He stated that one of the reasons was because of high mark ups on products. My priority is the safety of myself and my daughter who will be on the back of my bike on occasion. With the cashflow restrictions I have,I can not afford a quality helmet unless I buy online.Where I live there are two motorcycle dealers who sell accessories and both are out of my price bracket.
  10. I have just taken receipt of my new Bandit 600 having passed my test in Nov.I need to upgrade all of my gear and want to start with a helmet. My plan is to go to a dealer, try on a few makes and then order from the net as I don't have much to spend.Thinking of an AGV as there are a few in my price bracket but a friend of mine said KBC helmets are good and not too expensive, any thoughts?

  14. Nice one Phil, well done.Remember for your mod 2,ride your ride and not what you think the examiner wants you to do,relax and just think of it as another lesson....good luck!
  15. Mod 2 passed today....game on! thanks to everyone for the helpful advise. Now to sell the 125 and buy a real bike
  16. Only just got my test paper back from my instructor.Failed for leaving my lifesavers too late when exiting roundabouts on fourth exit on two counts. Can someone please confirm the routine to me.Approach roundabout in right lane having done a right lifesaver on approach.Looking right as I come on to the roundabout and stay tight to the roundabout. As I level with the last junction before the one I need to take do I signal left first or do a lifesaver before I signal. If I do a lifesaver first do I still do one as I exit.I was passing the junction before, indicated then did the lifesaver as I moved to the junction, examiner said that I had already committed myself before the lifesaver was complete HELP!
  17. Good one lol,he did tell me though if I lost him I would need to pull over in a safe place and wait for him.Going to practice every roundabout around the test routes for the next two weeks.
