  1. One more job to do. Now and again if I hit a bump in the rd and hi ish speeds the clutch can suddenly slip. It's an intermittent fault.
  2. The bike when I first got ithttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/05/eryvyqej.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/05/upyrygeg.jpg
  3. Sorry. Trying to up load but had a few problems[. thinking of selling it now. done less than 25k miles as well . engine is nice no smoke and quick IMG]http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/05/yza6u5am.jpg[/img]http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/05/apa8uqu6.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/05/9amunypu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/05/2a8y9atu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/05/6ygy7u7u.jpg
  4. Finely finished the old girl. Don't think it's to bad for a 30 year old bike. Was a sorry looking restricted jap market £170 garage find. Spent a few bob and sorted out loads of repairs but have enjoyed bringing it back to life. The hardest job was getting rid of the restriction. The predator exhaust was a real find and sounds great.
  5. I have polished the engine cases and rocker cover to a nice finish but keep having to clean as they are not protected. What's the best way to keep then clean.
  6. Brakes sorted. I stripped the caliper . Put in new seals, cleaned up the pistons. Used the right red grease, replaced the pads, used copper grease and all is well with a re bleed. Nice to know is wasn't to difficult a job in the end even for a non mechanic like me. Quite satisfying and money saving. Best check the fronts now
  7. Keep up the good work. I recently resurrected an old gsx 750. It's a labour of love and the jobs are endless but keep at it as its very rewarding
  8. Does anyone know if GS1000 4 in to 1 Harris pipe will fit my old GSX 750 Es. I have an exhaust in great condition but need the down pipes. There is one for sale not far from me.
  9. Going to have to find a drawing or spec sheet and see what's meant to go on the wheel axel spacers etc. it was a barn find and has been a labour of love and hate. Hate at the moment
  10. Both pistons have been cleaned and operate correctly now, one of them was stuck hence bad wear on one side. Both pistons have been set all the way back. It looks like the whole caliper is not aligned as the space for the disc is over to one side, strange
  11. I have overhauled the rear caliper on my gsx 750 es. 30 years of crud etc didn't help but now all ok after a good clean of the pistons and new seals and pads but I now have a weird problem. The caliper is not central to the disc and 1 side of the new pads won't go in as the is not enough space even with the pistons all the way back. Can anyone help or know why this has happens. When I changed the pads 1 side was right down to the steel and the other side was not to bad hence one piston was fitter out than the other but that should not be the problem as the pistons are all the way back
  12. Thanks all. Like you all say its running fine then leave it alone
  13. All sorted now. Replaced all the electrics and now running much better and fuel consumption is much better
  14. I have been offered some very good condition k an n air filters. They are 40 mm diameter. Does anyone know if they will fit my carbs
  15. Plugs were fine, I have replaced the fuel line as it didn't look to good but fitting the new what a pig. Suzuki could not have put the inlet in a more difficult place and angle. Didn't want to remove the air box and carbs just to get a new line on but managed to push and twist on a tight fitting injector type hose and got a ty wrap on it. Hope it's all sorted now as I have had enough getting the bike sorted out and just want to ride her knowing mechanically everything is done and sorted.
  16. Going to take them out tomorrow and have a look. Bike has a neta exhaust and standard new air filter, plugs, coils, ht leads and cdi are all new
  17. AS the title says I am going through juice really quickly. Did a run out sat to see if all was ok and on a full tank say £20s worth I was nearly at half a tank after only 45 miles. Bike runs well. No smoke etc.
  18. Megawatt, going to leave this job for winter now. I will contact you about the adapters later.the down pipes O/D is 32mm,the I/D is 29.5mm and the Harris collector is 43mm I/D and 45mm O/D. Not sure on the angles to I get started but it looks like it should be ok with a bit of adjustment
  19. Had a good run out and all seems well. That's it now for doing her up over summer. Going to lay the bike up over winter and get it re spayed, sort out the fork seals and get braided brake hoses and change the exhaust. Got a Harris pipe to fit but will need to chop the down pipes and get some adapters, going to leave this till winter as well now so I can take my time
  20. Oil leaks sorted (hopefully) topped up oil and going for a spin to see if all my work is ok. Going to replace the plastic screen over the clocks this weekend, got a piece of Perspex to cut and fit. Beats paying £50 for a new one. Just got to find the jig saw in the shed and fit a new headlight bulb
  21. Stupid question but were do I find the tank breather hole. Just had a thought, I covered the fuel cap in a fake carbon fibre stick on cover as it was looking poor. Have i caused the trouble. Also just realised I left the breather hose disconnected to the air box, will lift tank off again and re connect. The only hose points I can find on the tank are the fuel, the one behind it that conducts to the carbs and another on the other side that is connected to the fuel level unit. There is no pipe connected to this section
  22. Well I changed the breather pipe for something stronger and re routed it and changed the fuel pipe and re routed that as well. The fuel piick up point was a pig to fit as suzuki has placed it in the 1 place you can't get to without swearing. Took her for a blast down the motorway and had no cutout problems so hopefully cured. Dam rocker cover is leaking now, I spent hrs polishing it up and had a very small weep from 1 cam end but now its letting go badly so that's anther job for sat morning. Hopefully a bit of gasket sealer will do the job but hey doing up old bikes is never easy.
  23. I will get another piece of pipe and re route it. Hopefully this is the cure
