  1. sad to say sold my victory hammer, getting parts for it was getting more and more difficult and expensive,so decided to buy a triumph america lt,had the bike about 2 months now, really pleased with it,parts are average price and abundant.only 2 things im going to change, need a smaller screen and the exhaust has to go sounds like a sewing machine, anyway heres a pic everything you see on the bike is how the bike comes as standard.
  2. people entering the motorway should adjust there speed, hence why its called a slip road, they slip into an available gap,i drive 100s of miles a day, everyday,my top speed is 56mph,you would be amazed at how may drivers can not join a motorway without causing me to slow down,or if i can move into lane 2 how many drivers then proceed to stay at the same speed as i am doing, leaving me no alternative but to slow down and try to get back into lane 1 which than causes drivers behind me to slow down.if you race down a slip round and i can not slow down or move out of your lane in time then your seriously injured or dead,a 44 ton truck takes some stopping at 56 mph,if they are in front of me as they are about to enter the motorway then i will always reduce my speed a little then flash them to let them join the motorway,if they are doing same speed as me and by the side of my truck then you are in the wrong and should slow down to get on behind me or if possible get up enough speed up to get in front without cutting me up or me smashing into the back
  3. my bike had the wrap on when i brought it,it started to rip in places,so thought i would replace it.in the end decided to clean the exhaust up instead, just a water and rust trap.took me hours to polish the exhaust back up to something like decent.still see in places where the wrap had been and no amount of polishing with polishing mops has removed it,just get some decent heat shields.
  4. thanks, they dont have them in stock but they will make me a pair seem a decent company

    exhaust stud

removed exhaust from my bike, all the nuts except for one came off the exhausts studs, one of the studs unscrewed with the nut attatched, can not get the nut off,any tips on how to get it off thanks
  8. Bet that sounds the nuts . sounds like a ww2 spitfire when you start it up
  9. had this bike a few months now,not everyones cup of tea but i do like it
  10. a friend of mine has a fazer 600,when he starts the bike the tickover is very uneven, but if he rides the bike and changes gear the bike revs up on its own, so any of you have any idea what we should be looking for to try and sort this problem out,it only started happening last week thanks for any advice
  11. there should have been a spacer that sits behind the pulley bearing as well as the one in front that was missing, seems who ever had the bike before me had removed the wheel and forgot to put it back on,so touch wood everything should be fine
  12. well i will see how things pan out when everything is put back together,if it happens again then i just dont know what else it could be,it was only the pulley side spacer that turned and only the pulley bearing that was bad,
  13. aint got a clue why it was turning, everything was put back as per the manual, back axle was torqued up to 80ft lb,i even measured the spacer with an electronic digital caliper and they are within the spec, will order a new one,i would expect problems on a older high mileage bike but not one that is only 3yrs old with just over 4000 miles on the clock, anyway thanks again for your help
  14. just another quick question,do you think it would be worth while changing the spacer/or as kawasaki call it the collar,as not sure if its in great condition as not got another one to compare it to,not sure how long it had been turning for so maybe could of wore down? so not giving a tight fit on the part where it touches the bearing,as always any advice always appreciated
  15. ok thank you both for your help
  16. no its the one that sits in the front of the pulley, between the frame and the pulley, axle goes through frame, then spacer then wheel, spacer sits on front of the pulley bearing, hope i have explained it better.there a 2 spacers one long one short, long spacer goes pulley side short spacer goes other side, both spacers touch the outer faces of the bearings on either side of the wheel
  17. had a grinding and clunking noise coming from the rear wheel,so checked bearings and it seems rear pulley bearing has had it,so going to replace all the bearings, pulley and rear wheel, now this may sound like a stupid question, should the pulley side wheel spacer turn with the wheel? as always thanks for any help
  18. went to this one, great day,but chaos getting off the car park, all for a good cause tho.

  21. But modern men and women have devised a new anti predator instict. rather then understanding animal sounds we have instead developed the ability to spot a 1 inch camera lense at 100 yards provided it is recording and pointed at us. you know what i mean. that sense that you are being observed but not by eyes but by a camera. so people can spot a 1 inch camera lens at 100 yards?,really, now my maths aint that good,100 yards is about 300 feet,(please correct if wrong) so by having a camera these people who have not seen me previously riding my bike with headlight on,hi vis motorcycle jacket, white helmet, can suddenly see me from 100 yards, now if you think it makes a difference to you than fine, but the facts are.other road users will not see your camera untill you are right next to them,if other road users like you suggest are aware of being watched by cameras, then why do so many get caught by average speed cameras on motorways,in bus lanes, speed cams, these are way bigger than a 1 inch helmet cam,the uk is supposed to be the most heavily monitored by cctv in europe so if people dont care what they do in front of those cameras they aint going to care about anyone wearing one on there head
  22. so you think your shiney new camera has altered the way other road users drive? or it has suddenly made your more visible to other road users? i drive a 12ft high white hgv and they still can not see me.they still try and drive and ride down my blind side, yes bikers are as bad for this as cyclist forever having cars pull out of side roads.nearly wiped out a young girl and her baby the other week, just pulled out right in front of me.i dont think your camera will make any difference, some people can drive, ride, some people can not,did you see how i included the word ride.yes some people should'nt be allowed on 2 wheels, some people should'nt be allowed to go out of there homes,if you think your helmet camera has made you safer then thats good.if you enjoy shoving your camera in others peoples faces as you ride passed them, dont be surprised if someone takes offence
  23. deep breaths and take your time, the mod1 aint a race, just relax and everything will be fine
  24. i did my mod1 at wolves, examiners are fine, they put you at ease, don't be afraid to ask them anything you're not sure about on the test, they will explain everything they want you to do,dont't forget your life savers going into and out of the mod1 test area
