  1. Wow, not been on here for a while, saw the title and clicked and it was me that wrote it.
  2. I just moved here from London and don't know anyone, any decent routes or any of the roads. I just fancy going on a gentle rideout as the only bike I have left since leaving the SE is the CBF500 I used to commute on in London. Just as well really, not knowing the roads I'm almost back to noob status with regards to stability and handling. Any takers?
  3. I got 0% finance on an FZ1 eight years ago. It seems like a good idea but you're still chained to monthly payments. I had a six month bike to part-ex so my repayments were very low but it's still a commitment. As was previously mentioned, there's only one way to find out and if finance is your only option then 0% is better than anything else although with 0% you will be paying full retail price on the bike.
  4. The monthly repayment depends on the deposit.. and that starts from £99 minimum. Obviously the more deposit you can pay, the lower the monthly repayment. I would definitely look at my credit score before applying. applying for credit and being turned down has a major impact that lasts a fair few years. best to know where you stand before applying. I would also suggest applying with a decent deposit. Credit searches stay in your file for six months. Defaults and how you use credit lasts for up to seven years.
  5. If I haven't been riding it, the exhaust is cold. If I have been riding it, it'll be hot.
  6. The problem I've got is that the sump is cast as part of the engine and therefore doesn't come off. Tapping and helicoiling etc will introduce a load of swarf into the engine which means the whole lot has to come out. I was thinking of helicoiling it but I'm going to have a look at another commuter tonight and as the sump plug is just holding in with a lot of plumber's PTFE tape and appears to be oil-tight (for how long, I don't know) I was thinking about selling it but being honest about the stripped threads.
  7. Stripped the thread on my sump. f**k it.
  8. That's exactly how I felt about my 7R. I decided to cut my losses
  9. Damn, I need another bike. I would've come along on this one
  10. My Packard Bell laptop comes with an image backup thing. It all goes onto an external hard drive and takes about an hour.
  11. It isn't yet. Not until I've got another job. I'm still working but want to move from where I am.
  12. You'll have to get a go on mine. The problem now is that when I test-ride any others as a "main" bike, anything else in comparison will be brilliant.
  13. A lot of people don't put earplugs in far enough, they have to go right in.
  14. You could go the whole hog and change your bike.
  15. Good news that something is being done. Theft is one crime that makes my blood boil. Thieves get no respect from me; they are lower than the belly of a snake. Lower than fly shit.
  16. Put a sponge soaked in that sticky ink that comes out of Biros in your pocket and maybe a couple of mousetraps.
  17. Yeah home boy I'm thinking that'll work! But the cause is what I'm wondering! Brake fluid overheating and breaking down? Get back to work you douche!! You only changed it a month ago. You must have the most mollycoddled bike here.
  18. It might be happening now because your new coil has more oomph and so can produce enough power to do that. I'd look at getting it fixed quickly though or you may end up damaging your new coil.
  19. Looks like your plug caps are broken down. It's easy to fit some new ones that are not expensive.
  20. You're not alone but at least mine can open a browser (though she doesn't know what a browser is, she just knows it as Google) which I get her to type her problem in and click on the result that looks most like her problem. I get horribly frustrated and angry when trying to sort my parents' IT issues so I don't bother now.
  21. I would imagine that is different as they weren't actually killed. They just died a shit long time ago. Yes you're right. Bit of a silly question really but at least you know what vegan means, many don't! No, the animals died millions of years ago so not bothered. I'm vegan due to the cruel factory farming. Would you eat bacon if you knew the pig it came from had a happy, healthy life and was able to roam freely and be totally natural and piggy?
