  1. The RAC use bike trailers normally but if not they are always recovered safely on a loader from experience and like I said with small companies you never know what service you can get from one region to the next........ sos are a huge national company, specialists in bike transportation, not just breakdown, and are used by a lot of the insurers. they have nationwide coverage with their own vans and personnel , and don't subcontract the work out, so its very consistent. the RAC on the other hand do use third party local firms , and as such the service can vary Still not rated as highly a breakdown specialist as the AA and RAC according to Defaqto ratings, and any company that is in close dealings with meddlers such as Green Flag and Britannia don't rate highly in my book......every company uses 3rd parties for certain areas (Such as recovery) but unlike most AA and RAC will have one of their guys look at it first where the rest will just send out any one.

  3. Autoaid are similar to firms like Green Flag and rely heavily on 3rd party garages and recovery companies so the level of service differs so much from area to area it's like playing Russian roulette with yourself and your family's cover. I'm working for the RAC but the AA offer's a similar service where there's a high level of training and support and you get what you pay for........Been a member for 8 years with the RAC and worked for them for 6 months and can't recommend them enough. Don't let price be a factor when it comes to your cover, as most AA and RAC sales agents are very flexible on pricing and can come close to if not match the cheaper snake oil sellers.
  4. gonna have to be chest or helmet mount for me .............seen a good one on ebay for cheap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201055652992? ... 1423.l2649
  5. Yeah it's gotta go on the helmet........just figuring out hoe
  6. £50 for the chance to capture all those great biking moments, no need to pay £250 for a GoPro? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PR2Koj ... e=youtu.be First ride and review
  7. It's a fair wedge dude but the reward is priceless and one of the most important things I've ever achieved and when you pass I'm sure you'll feel the same way
  8. I have to admit I like to see them trotting around, but if I had a horse I'd spend the time galloping through the fields picturing a imaginary posse trying to hunt me down..but that's just me I'd never take those skittish monsters on the road with the amount of cheese eaters driving their cages like drunk babies.
  9. That is just a beautiful bike! Yours? Just amazing detail work and condition!
  10. Ok I'm back on a bike after a 16 month break where I went from a 750cc Triumph Trident rat to a new Superlow, and what a difference! I was used to the top heavy unbalanced Triumph which even with new bars and a yoke conversion handled poor to ok. I picked the bike up in the pouring rain having not even test ridden it, just one sit on in the show room but even from just that you can feel the balance and low centre of gravity along with a great riding position. The first thing you notice is the sound and vibration that just runs through you and I was hooked......great handling in the wet and responsive breaks (2014 has ABS now) there is something so unique about the the engine and its industrial gear change which is just beautiful! It doesn't hang around even with a weighty fellow on like myself and you'll soon find yourself hitting the max if you so wish, but for around town and cruising it is relaxing and joy to filter with too. Down sides, on the second day I lost the neutral light for 24hrs and its not far into a lean before you feel and hear a peg scrape, to quote my friend who I was following on a ride to Weston-s-Mare "I was expecting to look over my shoulder and see you sliding down the road after that metal on asphalt noise" but you soon make use of the grunt and power a bit more round the corners with less scrapes and I've stiffened the suspension to accommodate my fat ass and have a bit more clearance. Overall I love the bike and how confident it makes me feel at low speeds and the growl when you nail it...... not a slow bike but also not to everyone's taste
  11. Hey! New on here and looking for folk to ride with in the Bristol area. who's up for it?
