  1. Hi, I've been looking at buying some Rukka gear because of the Gortex pro shell laminated bit i.e. unlike the membrane jackets this ones layers are if you like lamented together. Makes it lighter and it doesn't suck up water like my current Wolf Titanium stuff. Grateful for any info. Thanks Shirl
  2. Marky, thanks I will try that. So the long plastic / rubber bit, what is that for
  3. Hi, Yea I like it. Ive done over 12000 miles since March so its been well tested. Its my first bike though so nothing to compare it to.
  4. Hi have just got one of these nd am having trouble fitting it to the handle bar. Tried to attach a pic but apparently its too big. The is a u shape bit that goes around the handlebar and a long plastic/rubber bit that I assume slides onto the other bit. 2 problems here, its hard to get it on and even if I could seems to long. confused :-/ Shirl
  5. Hi Haven't got one yet but hoping to get one. Has anyone fitted one of these to an MT07, my electronic display is where you might expect to fit it? Cheers Shirl
  6. Cheers what happens at Ryas on Fridays, huts are ok but I prefer to have access to a loo
  7. Hi Guys Was thinking there must be some bike meets for Friday nights but aside from Ace I don't know where they are. Did Ace last week, was a good night but the horrid journey is off putting Shirl
  8. Passed test a couple of weeks ago, already a 1000 miles on this First big bike
  9. Second go at Mod 2 today and actually did it. So relieved! Didn't come naturally from CBT but 8 months on I have a shiny new licence and a shiny new MT 07 Moto Cage to collect next week
  10. Hi Thanks for your replies. Silly to have nerves really but saying it and dealing with them effectively isn't easy. As for the speed limits, one road I was on I had no idea so just guessed at 30 :-/ Off out for practice soon
  11. Disappointed, really hoped to get that one first time. Did it yesterday in Erith, told to head for Belvedere, couldn't see which exit I needed and when decided to leave roundabout didn't signal doh! oh and a minor for undue hesitance, gave way to a learner driver but gap big enough. Test nerves have a lot to answer for, I would never do that in real life :-/ Doing next time in Basildon. Any all advice on test techniques welcome, I don't want 7 flippin goes at this one will end up bankrupt. Shirl
  12. Hi all Am not going to say when test is as don't want the added pressure, so no asking Had first training for it today. I did mess up as was in wrong lane to where I was meant to go and switched. I know, I shouldn't have done that :-/ The only other thing I was doing wrong and have presumably always been doing wrong is when turning right at a roundabout I was ending up in left lane to early. He wanted me to stay in right lane longer. Any advice on this would be helpful Thanks Shirl
  13. Hi All I live in Essex but did mod 1 out of Erith, first one because it was all that was available and after that, well just because they are a nice bunch in there will be doing mod 2 there also but of course don't know much about the roads aside from the route to the test centre from the Dartford crossing Shirl
  14. Hi Everyone and thanks for all of your comments. Am ready to get on with it now, Mod 2 training at the weekend Shirl
  15. Have booked Mod 2 training Also found out I can do that test in Erith as well, yay, its better than Basildon
  16. At last! I only started mid December but managed to fail 6 times since then. Off I went to a hypnotherapist last night after deciding it was only my nerves that were causing the problem. I was relatively although not completely calm today. Took my time talked myself through my problem manoeuvres before pulling away and bingo! I got two minors both on speed. 49 on the emergency stop and 48 on the swerve. My swerve had been an issue so I was sitting there between the blue cones thinking "please let that have been fast enough" Relief doesen't cover it. I am having a rest before Mod 2 and am just going to ride around the nasty bits on test routes for 2 or 3 weeks 7th time lucky! Never give up!
  17. Hi Everyone I went out for a ride today and swerved around everything I could find lol. I'm not saying when the next one is I will just post when I pass the stupid thing
  18. Hi all Test number 5! failed! stinking cold and did well all the way through, no minor marks all perfect then in the last 20 seconds I messed up the swerve again. Speed was fine, just decapitated the cone. Examiner said I was a cone murderer ! He did laugh however when I shouted oh F **kin H*ll not again! Shirl
  19. Hi All Thanks for all of your advice. Have been out today practising again fingers crossed for tomorrow. Might need the 29 minutes to keep blowing nose :-/ knowing me bad weather and a cold will get me through lol
  20. Hi I did my CBT in June and have since done 8000 miles on a 125, a course with the firebikes and a bike safe course with police force all of which I have been fine with. Mod 1 first test, complete mess, missed observations on U turn and kicked hazard cone. second test, kicked the hazard cone. Realising this was an issue I did some further training on hazard bit. Third test got all way through with 1 minor (to wide on figure 8) got 47 on hazard avoidance so had to do it again. Did it again and for some weird reason I didn't attempt a swerve and rode right through the cones. Was pleased I hadn't kicked it though Test four, wobbled and put foot down on U turn. Carried on and nailed the rest, including two perfect flippin U turns :-/ Frustrating isn't the word, not to mention expensive. Clearly I can actually do each bit but get nervous about the little things that can go wrong such as putting foot down. On top of that I have a bad cold Any advice welcome. Shirl
  21. Sorry guys! by now you'll probably have gathered I failed yesterday, just about getting over it now :-/ I thought I had failed because I kicked the inner cone on the hazard avoidance ( I did that a lot in training, any tips? ) But as it turned out I had already failed as my second look on the U turn was too late. I've booked another for Christmas eve at a different test centre due to availability. I can't say I'm all that confident but will go for it, what will be and all that, If I fail again will have to look at some intensive training the day before or something. Its a pain as the cost is a lot when using a school and their bike .
  22. Well today is the day. I'm feeling okay at the moment test is at 1.38. Watch this space
  23. Hi I will be doing Mod 1 soon. I have some training this week and hope to do test next week. A couple of parts worry me. I'm not very strong and was hoping to get some advice on the manual handling bit. The other part that worries me probably unnecessary is the emergency stop and getting up to the required speed for it. Any advice welcome. Shirl
  24. Hi Going on my first ever ride out to this and have found someone to go with me anyone on here going? Shirl
