My run of equipment failures continues and this time it's a second Keis Ultraflex jacket which gave up on me last week when I was touring the highlands. Left glove stopped working mid-ride. Plugged the left glove into the right hand socket and all fine so had to be the jacket.
Contacted Keis support who said take it back to the retailer. Went into Sportsbikeshop Birmingham where the manager said it would have to go back under warranty. When he saw that it was my second Keis jacket failure since December he just got another one from stock as an advanced replacement and he would worry about the warranty. Superb service from SBS. I do have a concern about heated clothing and in two years I had 2 x pairs of Gerbing gloves fail just outside warranty and my first Keis jacker failed out of the box. Let's hope this one doesn't present any problems.
Gerbing failures are always, always the connector. Now mines out of warranty, I’ve just bought a couple of their extension cables from their website and use those to do the repairs myself (on the jacket, at least).
Glad you got it sorted, but yeh, the connectors are truly woeful (for Gerbing, anyway).

I’ve had a moment of madness and bought a £300 seat from Wunderlich.
So I received the seat… and it is rock effing hard. It’s certainly thicker than the stock seat but it might as well be a length of 4x2. Absolutely solid slab of a seat.
“Comfort” my arse. I think I’d have more comfort sitting on the tank.- 2

Although i have zero faith in the abrasion resistance above 20mph.

I bought a couple of Spada hoodies from SBS when they were on sale a few weeks back. I really like them, and no, the hood doesn't act like a sail. (And that's on a naked!).

Too true. Right now I'm kind of scratching my head to find out what the police actually do. Chase killers maybe which is a good thing but all the stuff that affects ordinary people - burglaries, mugging, anti social behaviour generally just gets ignored.
Yeh… but your exhaust is a bit noisy, mate. Piss taker.
Too right that they dispatch a meat wagon with 15 rozzers inside to pull you over and fine you. -
Of all the problems facing the UK today, noisy exhausts on 0.1% of the vehicles on the roads doesn’t seem like a priority to me.
I’d rather they focused on stopping the ***** stealing bikes, first.

Booked a 6-dayer into France/Belgium/Germany/Luxembourg/Switzerland.
Have to do a factory visit in Strasbourg so thought i'd ,ake a trip out of it on the M1000R. My arse is aching just thinking about sitting on that seat for prolonged periods. Any cushion recommendations? Bought some memory foam and a cheap air cushion from amazon.

Sportsbikeshop is selling off all of its old stock, like you l couldn't find a decent fit. They only have odd sizes left now, hopefully they'll get some new stock in when they've cleaned out the older stuff.
I think the new stuff is up there already mate. (And cheaper than the Bull-it website).

While at the MCn Bike show, i had a nose at the Bull-It Jeans stand. Having previously purchased their jeans for summer riding, i found i could get the right fit; they were either too long, too baggy, too tight or too short etc. However, they have just launched a new range, which they claimed fit like traditional jeans, and i have to say, the fit is now absolutely spot on.
I went with the Grey, slim-fit Jean.
Definitely worth a look if you're in the market for something more casual in the summer months.

All i know is every off i've had i've been fortunate enough to have worn armor, and my pointy bits have always come out unscathed (excluding fingers).
The fact that it just exists within the clothing, and isn't some additional faffery to put on makes me question why anyone would consider taking it out.

What do you plan on putting on there, a nice 30 litre roll?
Yeh by overlander 30ltr bag.
Last time i did this trip on the S100R, the bag swung under the bike and ended up getting wedged in the back wheel

Expensive, but i thoroughly recommend the Lone Rider Overlander Bags. Your front wheel will fall off before these bags will.

Insurance doesn’t pay out in cash, so there will be no issue doing a bank transfer.
If not, tell him to do one.

That chain is giving me anxiety.

Also, finally got the bracket to hold the brake fluid reservoir, so was able to do away with the bar end mirrors.

So, @Joe85 did you have a good blap about?
I did indeed mate. This bike is insane, it really is.
Certainly too much for me to really make any use of. It does wheelie for days, though. Effortlessly.

What a day for a ride. Sunshine, 17deg.
Perfect.

If I thought I could get away with it, I’d have absolutely no issues with lying to insurance company so the outcome favours me.
They can get f**ked.

You can hire a van from B&Q for £42; a small price to pay to avoid a larger fine from the rozzers.

I don’t need 99.9% of the shit I own, but if I didn’t have them, I’d have to talk to the Mrs!
