1. I did this for a whilst, my solution 2 bikes. A scooter Suzuki Bergman with large boot and top box. It could take my helmet and all in 1 bike suit and boots. Then another bike for playtime...
2. Dealing with cats or bikes to close is easy: Ride unsteady, Never constant speed, Look over shoulder at them and look even more unsteady, All natural actions of nervous rider. When I commuted on a scooter I used to play this game with touring bikes. Then at first set of bends I rode 5 days a week they could rarely keep up. Next straight guess what....
3. Stay in England claim 2 bubbles and book share twin rooms. I doubt anyone will be checking. Or leave booking till late and check your travel advise.
4. Grandad use to make for works family stopped him when one burnt through the shovel it was on and worked is easy through the flat roof... When it finally went out it had started on the top of the safe under the flat roof. It would of been funny had he not if been the bank manager. Seeing what I thought where Silo's I had assumed bust explosion...
5. Have had that weight as pillion on FZ6 - not to comfortable. TDM 900 - Didn't like twin vibration Triumph Trophy 1200 - She likes. A bit of shopping you can pick up a trophy for 1/2 the budget...
6. So today family chores done my daughter and I went for run on the bike. Having deliberately missed snacks at lunch I had cunning plan.. Eat out to save or what ever. So with my usual lack of planning: A Harvester: Oh yes we have just got a table available in side.. Can we have one outside No were not serving food outside.... I was waiting for the excuse of because of C19. Although it explains all the empty tables in the lovely fresh air, we made our excuses and left. The next only took pre-aranged bookings , the next not opening until 5th of August. Just finished choc ice at home... If they want saving they had better make it easier than that!
7. Stu I recon when you have sold 56 the price should go up £8..
8. For me allot of confusion is caused by the press needing so much clarification. The eat in take out with without masks sums it up... Why is it safe to not wear a mask because you are eating in? but taking out you need to wear a mask? Answer: Its not "safe" to eat in but you cannot eat in with mask on, taking mask of to eat increases risk and at moment that's not judged to significant. Also there are other factors cleaning between customers is not so easy to achieve at counter take out service compared with eat in. You cannot legislate for every situation....
9. It cannot be just me that sees big differences in approach/ application of rules between shop... Some I won't visit gain. ScrewFIx: Get out of car for click and collect order, 2 guys guy in car park they stop talking so they can hail "have you got mask? please put it on! (I am in car park, just stepped out of car)" "Now wait at point No 1 (still outside)" guy now radios into store to get permission for me to go in, then instructs me to go in, there where no customers inside (or out). I then had to wait as they went to shelf's to collect all the items for my prepaid and prepared order. Was subsequently asked for ID having supplied all codes references etc details from email. Toolstation: Guy sitting at desk at front door helping customer, find right product. after brief wait he asks is it pre-ordered, yes I give name, he excuses himself to customer. Less than a minute later hes back with bag, postcode check for ID he returns to the customer who had not pre-ordered.. Moles Country Store: initially 1 person from each household, so my misses was left dealing with 40kg of dog food since I was not allowed in and she had money. Have visited since and found the staff so politely instructive and patronising helpful I would not revisit. Local Shop: Step in put helmet on table then put mask, no problem. Why don't you just wear your helmet, its to hot, fair enough. Co-Op: Customers queuing outside as staff to busy to call them in. Shop allowed 8 customers inside, 2 customers inside. Sign says wait for staff so people waited for staff, not applying the thinking as one leaves one can walk in. Maybe they had previously visited Moles or Screwfix?? I cannot be the only one seeing this..

11. It's hard when you go for months with little contact. Then the same thing made 2 months not seeing each other and lockdown childs play. I have been fighting this for over a decade, I have the teen years left to run so I am sure there are more battles to come. It's a sad one as there are no winners, just occasional truces.
12. Some good has come out of C19... Eventually when I could again see my daughter after a couple of months, only whilst social distancing... My X told me my daughter could not go on car because of social distancing, I said what about bike... Afew days later and a little email ping pong, daughter was allowed in the car (with Windows open)... Then I was allowed to see my daughter as when she wants (which is whenever I am not working)... A couple of months stuck in doors with her mum seemed to make dad seem a good option... A little more time and she has now been allowed on the back of bike and wants to go camping in it next access
13. If Carbs fuel filter and air filter all done... 1) Might be worth running with fuel cap lifted just in case its vent is blocked, 2) Electrical I would go: a) Timing sensor pick up, b) Coils,
14. Step 1 no one will disagree with Book CBT With local School £120 Make sure you have learner entitlement on your licence, I think you should. Rules do change you may need to do a theory test first, Worth using FB for recommendations for school, Don't buy gear just do it, they supply gear. If you need a second CBT don't worry, I was in your shoes and did it was not a bad thing I used different school which I found better. Step 2 - Assuming you enjoyed your CBT Here you get into Choices and options: You will need bike gear from here on - Helmet, Gloves, Boots, jacket, trousers £250 to Thousands. Think £300 to £1000 ish.. Many choices here leather? textile? some say buy the best you can get, I advise buy good mid range when you know what you want you can buy more (warning bike clothing is lie women and shoes you always want more!) take advice make your decision. A: Look to complete your licence - A 2 Part Test to get you full licence* Cost is about £1000 Can be done in week or over many months. B: Buy a 125cc Motorbike and start Riding - Then go back to Step A - when ready. 125 cc Bikes cost between £400 to thousands. £400 - Cheap Chinese 2nd hand if you like maintenance and fault finding £1200 - 2nd Hand - Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki - £1200 - Brand New Chinese brand 125cc - A quick way to loose lots of money IMHO Do your homework and buy what you think best. DAS or 125? Depends what your aspirations are and location, I did 125 route then I live in an area surrounded by good 40 mph speed limit roads & not many steep hills, it was also good for learning to ride in towns and traffic it was light and forgiving (and did not accelerate too fast). I enjoyed my time sold the bike for £100 less than a bought it for and gained allot of confidence. It also made me more aware of the type of bike I would like, I never thought I would be sports tourer type rider. If you need to use the motorway or fast dual carriageways routinely, I would suggest DAS. DAS* Full licence? yes there are different versions I think it will be universal to obtain full unrestricted licence unless age restricted as you can then ride anything in future. I never thought I would want more than a 600cc motorbike thought about smaller licence, hell I now have a 1200 as my favourite.
15. TomTom my drive does senic routes or similar...
16. That's not the Rutland I remember from my childhood. I recall frozen sheets and ice bergs I tell you, must of been serious I got my wetsuit or I was not allowed to sail....
17. £6 paid... Address sent eventually.... Crazy Bear.
18. To quote my daughter aged 10... "It's like centre parks gone wrong..." You just have to go once...
19. Can we not just get s new logo so every one can agree on the buffs...
20. Wait till you meet the Solent ferries, I can ride to the local ferry terminal in 10 minutes. Yet it's cheaper to ride to dover and get the ferry to France than get the ferry to a port 3 miles south, including petrol costs....
21. I can walk to the ferry, still does not mean the ferry companies will not do there best to make the Manx Steam Pact Company look like opportunists rather than out and out crooks for over charging...
22. In all honesty I have never actually used Amigo for Navigation, I thought it was charged. I run it in background so it Auto starts on connection with Bluetooth. Latest function I have started using is its speeding warning, you can set for a limit EG Speed limit +10mph, you get one subtle single ping. Shame it wont do as percent but that's probably my being picky. I am again paying for TomTom GO, which is my go to app for navigation as I like to pre-plan routes before departure and be able to stick to them ish... husoi Uses OPEN Street map as source, OPS maps are crowd sourced so maps can be corrupted, similar to Wikipedia. This may or maybnot be bad thing depending on your view point. Breezin " Waze has a mode with just arrows showing the next turn too." cannot find the option for that one...
23. If insured fully comp I would of thought it should of worked along the lines of: 1) You have to pay full year, 2) If Claim is paid within in the life of the policy you will have insurance to use on another bike or you have a refund as the time without insured bike is still a "loss" that can be financial reimbursed. Then again I think insurance is politely summed up here: Keep calm good luck and don't expect a speedy resolution.
24. Understanding Stu 's very understandable reluctance to put money up front... It gets crowd funding so we have to put our money up front, with the right site it refunds your money if you don't reach target. Presently as its to support a community through Corona Virus there might be a way to sip some fees... I also hope there is an over order so that its £6 crowd funded with limited number of extra stock available at £8 or £10. If less stress full for Admin maybe other bright ideas could be funded this way...
