  1. Just got back from Barmouth and the cost road down towards Twyn looked a great ride unfortunately I was in the car. I did speak to someone who said they'd been done speeding for 31 in a 30 but just took it with a pinch of salt, heard a few people say it now though seems harsh!
  2. They did when I passed mine, The reason they told was if your following a car or bike and reading the road ahead you can see parked cars etc but if your following a truck your view could be obscured.
  3. As a hgv driver myself that bike was lost in the blind spot caused by the mirror by the time the bike was out of the blind spot it was too low to be seen. Not excusing the driver at all he should of been looking well up rd as he turned in and spotted the bike
  4. This was something I found weird on my lessons as a hgv driver I did it without thinking but you soon get the hang of it [emoji6]
  5. Nice route I did my first proper ride a few weeks back heading over to Saddleworth and back to Wakefield via Holmfirth . Great roads and views but a bit daunting for a newbie lol Ill have to have a venture on the roads I'm your map
  6. What are you wanting to use it for? I've been into my mtbs for years, tried a road bike and now have a cyclocross. Boardman and Carrera do decent entry level bikes for all styles but as said if you go new fro halfords check every bolt lol
  7. Yeah your right: "He (Kenneth Noye) and fellow crook Brian Reader were acquitted of murder after pleading self-defence but 11 gold bars were discovered hidden beside Noye's garage wall. The pair of them were jailed for conspiracy to handle stolen goods." And Noye was the one who got sent down for stabbing someone to death in a road rage incident, they had to put his fiancee in to witness protection due to Noyes associates [emoji20]
  8. Career criminals I reckon as soon as the ages were released I guesses there probably "known faces" from the oldschool mobs. I think the 76 year old did time over involment in the brinks mat Google his name
  9. Great pic! I'm jealous none of my parents, grandparents were into bikes.
  10. Only if you chop the main frame ( you can chop the bit that the seat mounts to I.e change the tail end) and only if you tell them
  11. I was out last Sunday for a local ride about with my brother and his mate there both on old Vespas and I was on my Bandit. I was happy enough tootling about I also dabbled in the scooter scene very briefly on a 50 and was suprised how many bikers nodded.
  12. I watched it till the end, well skipped to the end I suggest you do the same
  13. I thought you went to hell if you jetwashed a bike [emoji1]
  14. That is rather the impression I've formed. I've had a go at a few and upset myself because I've clicked at things that apparently are not hazards, because I'm so anxious not to miss anything, and then tried to avoid that and not clicked enough - haven't failed as such but certainly haven't left myself a margin of error. When I come to do the real thing I will need to be much better, as I'm bound to drop a few points because of nerves. It does seem to be very much about working out how to pass the test, as much as actually being able to pass the test. I agree, I've done the test and it's all about how to "play the game". If you could sit with an actual person and talk them through the hazards you perceive, you would get a different score than the one given by a computer program. Best thing to do is get a CD-ROM of the test (sounds a bit old school now, not sure what format they now come in) and learn how and when the program is expecting you to click. Couldn't agree more, I have done it 3 times now car, hgv, bike and found it more frustrating each time. The bike ones first clip showed a bus pulling up so I clicked (potential hazard) then kids getting off... Click then walked around the front of bus.. Click now there in road.. click first video and I get a message telling me I've clicked too much so will get no score, luckily the nerves settled down and I did o.k with the rest lol I passed all three first time but for me it's the worst part of the tests
  15. Ha ha that made me lol
  16. Depends on council ours want £45 to say yes or no but they no longer do the work any qualified builder can do it, A nearby council has a list of approved builders etc
  17. Yep passed recently and just A without the others, you're winning on the entitlement front too I have no intention of getting the bus ones lol
  18. On my Suzuki push key right in then turn to right and slowly start to pull key back out. I'm so used to it now it works every time but if anyone has to move my back they struggle like hell
  19. Old engine oil cured mine but it did seep all the way through and take a bit of cleaning of the front end.
  20. As above I always thought the Sharp rating was a bit suspect because of the way they tested it. My lid is a Shoei and was quite expensive but It was the only helmet that seemed to fit my weird shaped head I would of preferred a £120 Hjc jobby just didn't fit.
  21. Watched twist of the wrist today thought It was very good the acting is shocking though lol
  22. I know reading and online vids etc is no substitute for real training but wondering if anybody has come across any good stuff online covering the basics. Done about 100 miles so far but I'm constantly questioning myself mainly road positioning and braking for corners etc. I did think following another rider might help but so far it's not been sunny enough for the people I know ride to venture out lol
  23. I got mine back last week turnaround time was about a week but the examiner sent it off and I heard that was quicker?
  24. 20th is a Thursday.... Whoops luckily I'm still off work, love my work rota I never know what day it is lol
