    Idle screw

Took it for a spin today and it was awesome... best ride I've ever had. . (Best either rephrase that or not let the wife see what I've put ) It was just really good. . Engine sounded and fealt good and I could just relax and enjoy just riding without worrying if it's gonna die any minute or worst still just fall to bits

FIXED The engine was loose.. O_o Tightened up the big bolt connecting it to the frame.. no noise at all.. and no grinding feeling .. its awesome now.. looking forward to taking for a spin instead of just round block

    Idle screw

This actually seems to be ok even though I've not touched anything. . All I've done is put petrol in.. I know that sounds daft and obvious but there was a bit of petrol in but don't know what is classed as on empty without a petrol gauge... BUT I have a new issue Yeah I know I need to get rid I just can't afford a newer one. I get a grinding noise and you can feel it in the bike when I hit a certain amount of revs. . In all gears.. its fine before and after but hit a certain spot and it sounds and feels awful. . I can't spend much more money on this think .. I expected a bit when I got it as it was cheap.. but just spent 190 quid on new exhaust .. It's costing me a fecking fortune..

    Idle screw

Sorry for delay been busy. . He doesn't know 100%.. he just had a play with bike and a look and listen.. he never took anything to bits or anything he was just saying what he thought. . Again I'm just getting information overload from all over the place. . I was gonna take some pictures on the weekend but been really busy, but it's getting harder and harder to get it started .. it used to fire up first time and tick over nice till I got a new exhaust fitted..

    Idle screw

Yeah got the manual but unless I'm blind (or just not looking properly which is more like it ) I can't find what I'm looking for .. it just confuses me even more Also spoke to a mate today and showed him and he says firstly I'm doing the choke the wrong way.. I was told on my model down was off.. he said I'd best double check that.. he also thinks my mix is not right and that's the problem not the idling .. He knows a lot more than I do..

    Idle screw

Hi all.. I think I need to turn up my idle speed a little as when I first start it up it always starts, ticks over really slow (it doesn't seem to matter what position choke is ) and sometimes stops.. last night was the worst so far. .. it took me ages to keep it ticking over without stalling. . I looked at the carb to see if I could find the idle screw and couldn't. .. I believe it's hiding behind a cover on my model.. (in case you've not seen any of my other posts, I've got a 93 cg125 brazil model..) I've spoke to several different people and looked in Haynes manual about changing idle speed and heard several different ways of doing it.. so I'm a bit confused any tips from any other cg or ex cg owners..
  9. Who is Heather Mills least favourite politician? Nick Clegg. .
  10. Mines boring .. its just my nickname Probably still best explain though I guess.. Dazzie as my name is darren p as my surname starts with a p (told you it was boring)
  11. Just slackened the chain and took it for a spin.. broke down again.. checked the tension of the chain and it was really tight again? ? I'm getting a bit out of my depth now.. I could do with finding someone who lives nearby who knows what they are doing. . I ain't taking back to where I took it before ..
  12. Sorry mate just seen this that you also said tension looks like this is what it could be then (hope so)
  13. Just been speaking to a guy who first of all said I've no oil .. I said I'm sure I have .. I did have last time I checked the day before breaking down.. Then he asked about chain tension and I said it quite tight .. there is a little play but not much.. he said that could be it.. it won't help.. then showed me with his hands how much play and there is no where near that.. Trouble is last place I took it said it was too loose and took some links out and didn't give them to me, so now I guess I need to buy a new chain altogether? ?
  14. I'm gonna sound like a total noob now (as I am) but how do I check the compression ?? Hoping I don't need to buy a new engine I wouldn't be lucky enough to drop on one cheap and even if I did I haven't got a spare 200 quid at mo..
  15. I know I shouldn't have left it and carried on using it Just went to get some petrol and got into 5th and it went all weird and stalled on me.. I couldn't get it started again I tried pushing it to side of road.. nope.. Tried triple checking it was in neutral and push again. . Nope .. put clutch in tried pushing .. yep.. took clutch out as was a million percent sure I was in neutral.. yep tried starting again fired up straight away.. Set off, a bit down road did same again. . I'm no mechanic but am I right in thinking that sounds like my clutch is buggered ?? (Stuck in gear, pushing knocked it back out)
  16. Filmed this today this is just the noise it makes when I push it.. https://vimeo.com/125597359
  17. Yeah got a Haynes manual and I'm dying to just have a go but just worried I might knacker my bike up The other problem is the special tools you need like this socket that shaped like a castle turret and feeler gauges and impact wrenches and other things I won't realise I need to I get to a screw I can't get out without one Don't really wanna start taking it to bits till I know I can get it to bits and can easily get hold of any parts that's faulty..
  18. As the title says ... My bike sounds shocking The engine ticks really loudly and there is a rattling that sounds like it's coming from the clutch. I took it to be looked at a few weeks ago and they did the tappets and told me that my bearing was on its way out .. I stupidly didn't ask which bearing but I assume it's the one in the clutch (as that's where the sound is coming from and that's what I'm having problems with), I don't really want to go back as it sounds worse now than it did before I took it.. I don't blame them at all they are really good and have a good reputation round here (that's why I took it), but I just feel a bit let down and want to sort it myself but I'm mo mechanic at all.. I wish I knew someone who lived near me who could help.. I know you guys on here are great and can tell me everything I need to do but I guess I'm scared of knackering it up and been bike less (especially how I rely on it to commute to work..)
  19. That's awesome mate. . I'm wanting to build my own bike shed but it still looks like it's gonna cost nearly as much as buying one. .
  20. I tried the cheap disposable foam ones last night and the were really good..
  21. It's funny you should say that.. I think the ride home tonight wearing them was the best I've rode so far, everything just seemed to be right. . I felt like I'd been riding for years Maybe I've been too busy worrying about the noise of the engine thinking mmm that doesn't sound right to concentrate before?? With those plugs in it was great.. no wind noise and I could hear the engine but even that sounded good (and I'm not a massive fan of the sound of my little cg125 engine to be honest)
  22. Dam it I'm not but I like the sound of cheap ear plugs That sounds bad about the poor guy who hit the pheasant It sure does scare the shit out of me when I hear stories like that
