  1. Just caught up on this. Not a massive fan of the coverage - esp. post the pit stops in race 2. Some close racing bodes well for the season. I like the look of the Hondas this year, but will still be hard to look beyond those Ducati’s and Kawasaki’s over a full season. Good to see some bike racing on the telly though!
  2. I reckon the OP has passed by now The mod 1 is less the issue, it’d be having insurance cover for your own bike on road for mod 2. That is why most do this under the banner of a training schools insurance.
  3. I’ve just fitted R&G’s to mine last week. Picked them up for £29 at the NEC bike show. Simple enough to fit and super hot. I’m happy so far. I think that the Oxford’s look a more quality product and there is more choice re grip style. The temp control looks better and allows you to adjust up and down on the Oxfords whereas with he R&G’s you have to cycle up through the heat settings to get back down to zero if you see what I mean. May be annoying when riding.
  4. I'd say worth the risk at this time of year! I've just fitted some to a Honda CRF250L and seems okay so far.
  5. Picked up another 3 pubs yesterday. Barley Mow The Anchor The Victoria
  6. Nice one . I like the look of those ER6f’s. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it a lot! Great first bigger bike imho.
  7. Took the long way home from work and picked these 2 up. Left my tag number on the bike at Epsom, so ended up writing a new number on the back of a receipt when I got to Billy's.. Epsom Downs Racecourse Billy's on the road
  8. Enjoyable morning ride along the A272 to Whiteway's Cafe. First tag for me in a while!
  9. As said above, once you know what that required speed feels like I.e. Revs, noise, how quickly to get to it all will be well and you'll likely exceed it by a good extent next time. Hope you get a cancellation!
  10. Congrats! Taking the L plates off is a very nice moment.
  11. That was almost funny to watch.. I don't think there is a high probability that he'll keep it upright tomorrow!
  12. Enjoy. I'm really thinking to do a trip to Europe this year - just fancy the idea of getting across the water for some reason.
  13. Really enjoyed the BSB racing today. I reckon that I'll try to get to a round this year. Has anybody been to a Thruxton round before? If so, what's it like? Thruxton is just up the road from me and about £40 gets you in for the whole weekend. 4-6 August this year.
  14. Good knowledge there, as always TC1474! Personally, I never ride with my Neotec flipped up. Every training course that I've ever been on are always clear and insistent that they're lowered and locked. We spend so much on safety gear so my thinking is use it in its most effective form. I flip up when I'm off the bike or filling up.
  15. I used a training school called lets-ride based in Wimborne, Poole. They managed to get me through!
  16. 2014 BMW G650GS in Black I'm putting my Low mileage (6,072 at the moment) G650GS up for sale. This is the 650 single cylinder model which comes with a centre stand, heated grips and ABS. It also has a BMW security alarm fitted. I have all the unused spare keys and an unused 2nd alarm fob. I'm the second owner of this bike but it only had 10 miles on it when I took ownership. The first owner was BMW, and this bike was a standby bike at their offroad school. It wasn't used by the school - hence the 10 miles, but was sold on at the same time as the rest of their fleet. It's in good condition and has always been kept in a heated garage during it's time with me. I've kept it clean and it was liberally coated in ACF50 for the few rides over this winter. There are a few minor scratches on the left hand tank and rear fairing and on the rear grab rails. Overall, the bike is in great nick, but I wanted to be as honest as I can in the advert. I think this model looks best in black, whether it's triple black I don't know, but it is quite black.. It's always been serviced by BMW - a run-in service in September 2015 @ 600 miles and an annual service in November 2016 @ 4287 miles. I also had the steering head bearings replaced in November 2016 by Motoscot in Luton. This has been a great bike to own. It's all kitted out for touring and will sit comfortably at 70mph on longer runs. New MOT today (21/04) with no advisories. Nice comments about the condition of the bike from the guys in the workshop. I'm offering the bike in 2 specifications: - Just the bike @ £3800 - Bike plus all the currently fitted accessories, which are detailed below @ £4350 BMW Aluminium vario panniers (these are 2nd hand and have a few dents and scratches on their outer covers but are in full working order) BMW Top box Pannier rack and mounting "mushrooms" BMW High Dakar seat More comfort and raises the seat height by about 20mm. BMW Hand guards Touratech adjustable screen mount PUIG touring screen BMW Bash guard Rear brake reservoir guard Rear brake cylinder heel guard BMW Tank Bag (unused) BMW tall clear screen Pyramid front Extender Fender Rear hugger Headlight guard Fork guards (not fitted) I'll add some photos in the next post..
  17. Big accident with very sadly a fatality in a support class race. Qualifying was cancelled due to an oil spill from the previous session. Race 1 grid positions are being determined by the final free practice times.

  19. Boeveys Tea Rooms, Simonsbath >> this one is up for sale so it may get re-branded later in the year! Some beautiful roads over Exmoor National Park led me here from Minehead. The Market Inn, St. Cleer Liskaerd St. Austell Brewery, St. Austell Black Flag Brewery. This one is on an industrial estate that only allows authorised visitors, so this pic is of the entrance gates I'm afraid. I did have a ride in there but in truth, there wasn't too much to see - it's a fairly standard industrial unit. It did have a few barrels stacked up outside though! Johnny's Cafe, Hayle - Another tag in this region that has been sold, so you may expect to see it under a different name later in the year! St Just Parish Church. The ride from St Ives to St Just must rank up there as one of the best 10 mile stretches of road that I have ridden. Wonderful views and a twisty belter. NB - There are a couple of churches very close to each other in St Just, so be sure you don't get the wrong (Methodist) one.. The Falmouth Packet Trecarne Pottery The Lemon Arms, Mylor Bridge The House that moved, Exeter
  20. Just back from a quick wander round the south west. Great place withSome great roads over Exmoor and Dartmoor, and I especially enjoyed the coast road from St Ives to St Just
