  1. If different types of antifreeze are mixed together (organic and non organic) they can react and form a horrible gel. When I changed the antifreeze in my FJR I followed the recommended procedudure which was to drain and flush the cooling system twice using distilled water then refill with a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water.
  2. I work in a garage fixing cars and have a 3/4" drive socket set. Plus a 3/4" impact gun. Probably used them a total of 15 times in the last 10 years. I don't think someone will use them much on a DIY basis maintaining their motorcycle so a lifetime guarantee is hardly worth worrying about!
  3. I'd like to know what 'idiot' gave you a car and left it registered in their name. You have technically broken the law by not registering it in your name and if the boys mum suspects you are a part-time dealer and makes a big enough noise, you may have the taxman etc looking into your affairs.
  4. Or just get a set for less than half that price off of Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-6336 ... +mm+socket
  5. Been to the south of France/Italy (where there are some good roads) for the last four years running and I've always found the first 4-500 miles of France to be utter shite! Mind you, we weren't heading through the bit you are going to. Really looking forward to hearing how you get on. We did turn left at Calais one year and went through Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Germany was great, Belgium was crap. Avoid it if you can.
  6. I have a pair of blue Hoeshot draggin jeans and they don't look like the normal big baggy Kevlar jeans that you see. Fairly well fitted. Not cheap though.
  7. Worry is interest paid on a debt not yet due.
  8. Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
  9. I just look for the knee pads to sit in the right position. Draggin jeans do a good range if you are looking for skinny fit ones but they ain't cheap. I have the Holeshot Draggin jeans and they do fit well.
  10. And repeat things. I say repeat things.

  14. As above. You're effectively taking HGV class 1 lessons and test to enable you to ride a Model T Ford! You'd be much more comfortable on an A2 bike. Did the school you are taking lessons with not advise you of that? It just seems like they think everyone wants to jump straight on a 1000cc monster! Another possibility, unless you specifically want the actual bike you already have, is to get a 125cc Bantam and ride that on your CBT licence. You can always stick a 175cc Barrel kit on it at a later date to get that extra 3mph!
  15. Ah right. Have you considered taking a smaller class of full licence? I passed my test about 8 years ago at the age of 50 when things were different to how they are now. I took and passed my test on a 125 geared bike as I had no intention of getting anything larger - I was used to a 125 scooter and just wanted to ditch the 'L' plates, carry pillions (occasionally) and get cheaper insurance. That restricted me to certain size bikes for two years but after two years it allowed me to ride any size bike. I got a 300 cc scooter on that licence after about a year which I still have as my daily commuter. After two years I also got a 650 scooter and a couple of years after that I changed that for a 1300cc geared touring bike and have now done 4 European motorcycling trips. At the time I took my test there were others in the same school doing direct access on 600cc sized bikes. I remember thinking "Sod that! They look too big for me!" Nowdays, a 600cc bike would feel like a mini moto to me! Perhaps the way forward for you would be to consider passing on a smaller size bike or even a scooter, getting experience on one of them and then moving up in size as you gain confidence? You might be going too big, too quick.
  16. You've got two sets of brakes. Front ones and back ones. Some big fat scooters also have a parking brake too. Do you have a full bike licence? You say you've done a CBT so how/why are you out on the road on a 650?
  17. My dad told me once that if I was thinking of gambling, go into any bookies, casino or greyhound track and count the number of people that are employed to take money. Then count the number of people that are employed pay out money.
  18. That looks good. Sitting here in the pissing rain, I'm jealous!
  19. It's not a blind raffle. Whilst I have my concerns over certain aspects of this, the only thing that is fair is that as tickets are sold and numbers are allocated, no-one but no-one can predict the number of the bonus ball drawn on the Lotto the first Saturday after the final ticket has been sold and allocated so the draw cannot be rigged.
  20. What happens if not all 49 tickets are sold? How long before you get your money back. I can see that some unscrupulous people could put their bike up and sit on 48 49ths of the bike price. Or just spend it. Is it covered by the PayPal money back guarantee? What if the bike is a duffer? Does the owner have to register as a gaming company? So many pitfalls.
  21. I wouldn't trust you with a pea shooter, you evil f**king ****.
  22. Do you mean you were held on remand for a case that you were later acquitted of? If so, I'd say 'no' to any criminal convictions. However if you were sent to prison for a specific reason the the answer would be 'yes'. We can't give you advice if you are not telling us the full story so you need to be straight up with us and tell us exactly on what grounds you were sent to prison.
