  1. That's unusual. How much was the track day? I'd go with someone else in future as you usually get 20 mins on 40 minutes off. At this time of year they might switch to 20 mins on 20 mins off on the day depending on the number of riders.
  2. Alas only Arai do that to my knowledge. And Arai's don't fit my head.
  3. I fell off my bike last week at Brands Hatch. I got a corner wrong, rode onto the grass, panicked, braked and the front tucked. The damage to me and the bike was minor however I'm not sure if I damaged my helmet. I don't think it took any impact however there was a small grass stain on the side so it must have contacted with the ground whilst I rolled. If it's damaged then of course I'll replace it but I'm loathed to bin a £400 AGV lid as a precaution. Any thoughts?
  4. I did a search for Bike Safe prior to posting but couldn't spot anything obvious. Plenty of hots for safe though as it's a popular signature. Maybe the posts you refer to got lost in the noise? Can you post a link? Ta
  5. I'm doing a Bike Safe day early May. I assume you've got to stick to all the speed limits including the nationals?
  6. Ha! I can think of only two reasons why people go to Amsterdam; sex and drugs. As you have a girlfriend you must be going for the latter?
  7. Damn .. matchbox sized is way too big to fit on my bike! I've got about half a match stick of storage under my seat. The camera was owned by Jonathan. I'll chase him up about the piccy.
  8. It's expensive .. £412 for the day at Brands Hatch, £342 for the day at Silverstone. Take a look at http://www.superbikeschool.co.uk for more details.
  9. I'm going to give this a go in the summer either at Silverstone or Brands Hatch. Does anyone have experience of this course at either of these venues? And can anyone suggest a convenient B&B as I don't think it wise to attempt to ride home after a whole day on the track.
  10. I'll take one of those spots. I haven't heard anything from the bike safe people personally.
  11. Yes I got my tyres changed there earlier this year and was impressed. I recommend the place.
  12. Whiteways to Itchenor is about 18 miles. We'll need to average 12mph for it to take an hour and a half!
  13. Remember to do it up afterwards though .. you don't want to get your dangly bits caught in the chain! Oh .. At Brands last weekend they stopped one of the races to ambulance off a fallen rider. One of the racers got off his bike and took a leak whilst the bikes were stopped up in the middle of the track. It was only two laps into the race! Dunno why he hadn't taken care of that in advance!
  14. At the moment you might be able to get last seasons suits at a hefty discount. I bought an Arlen Ness kangaroo suit for £650 reduced from £1100. The only difference between it and this years version are a few cosmetic changes. You'll probably want a back protector to go with your suit. Buy the back protector first or at the same time so you can be sure you can do the suit up when wearing it. Suits should be tight as they will stretch but be careful with the pie munching. An under suit is a good idea as getting out of your tight fitting leathers can be tricky on a hot summers day if it's just skin on skin! Suits tend to be perforated for added airflow. On hot summer days that's just what you want but at this time of year you'll freeze. You can get waterproof and windproof covers to go over the top .. sorta like a big condom!
  15. South East of London just outside the M25 is Brands Hatch. The NG Road Racing Club Bike Championships is there over the weekend of 21st and 22nd March. Tickets cost £10 in advance or £12 on the gate. I'm going along to see if the Triumph Daytona 675 can maintain it's racing crown! If anyone else is interested this is a fun and good value chance to see some live bike racing! https://tickets.motorsportvision.co.uk/calendar/race-event-details.asp?ProductID=3750
  16. The weather last weekend was excellent. Sunny and not too cold. Summer's here! Woo hoo! I'll be out on the bike this weekend too weather permitting.
  17. I'm looking to ge ta back protector to go with my one piece leather suit. I'm aware of the Know Aegis and the Dainese Back Space 1. What do people think of these products? Are there any others? I should consider? My budget is upto £150. http://www.planet-knox.com/SearchResult2.aspx?CategoryID=10 http://www.dainese.com/store/eng/scheda_prodotto.asp?cod=1875640
  18. The feature list and technical blurb on Garmin's site suggests this will be an awesome GPS device when it comes to market. It's also going to be expensive .. around £450 as far as I can tell. Has anyone seen or used one yet? http://www.garmin.com/products/zumo660
  19. I emailed Sussex bikesafe about this years dates last September. I haven't heard anything back from them yet so I hope your wait isn't as long as mine Paul! haha You get a copy of 'Motorcycle Roadcraft: The Police Rider's Handbook' as part of the course. You can also buy the book from retailers including amazon if you're itching for tips and can't wait till May! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Roadcraft-Police-Riders-Handbook/dp/011341143X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232670035&sr=8-1
  20. I'm not getting on my bike again until the air temperature is >10 degrees. My finger tips go white and numb if the temperature is less than that! Also my manhood freezes as my leathers have a vent in the front!
  21. aesthete .. Chi is short for Chichester which is a city on the south coast near Portsmouth
  22. Has anyone had any dealings with this tyre place in Portsmouth? Russ's Motorcycle Tyres Ltd Unit 4 O J's Industrial Park Claybank Rd Portsmouth Hampshire PO3 5SX http://www.russtyres.co.uk/
  23. I think the Daytona 675 is the best plan! I bought one in June and it's awesome!
