Bars, grips and mirrors on. Still revving a touch high when I turn the bars to the right. Need to see if I can re-route the throttle cables to counter this. Need to work out high I get rid of that horrible fascia and relocate the ignition barrel. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160720/de7155034e207e7fbe36cff41c9f540f.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160720/1a309ef2d4af54620138c9bb2b75df4a.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1st bike after passing my test. Undergoing the change to become a cafe racer. Megatons are on, and sounds awesome too! Will get the clubmans on at the weekend and see how it feels. Next stop will be the seat/subframe, then indicators/tail lights, then black wheels. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/3d6acfe9b4c39451c81fffc7a426319b.jpghttps://vimeo.com/174249089http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/0645a46612675e7efdd3c896ccbe6054.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Passed my test last week and this is in the back of a van winging its way to me. Getting delivered in a couple of hours. I want to get a cafe racer or scrambler seat and clip ons to start. Then those fat retro tyres. What else ? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160603/9bd356f0223d3465fc4f0fb5dd436ff6.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I backed off on the CB1300. However this gets delivered in a couple hours. Already taxed and insured. I'm out on it tomorrow and the weather is great in Scotland right now!! It's getting the cafe treatment over the summer too!http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160603/43824acca229b1f76cc9f3ca00db060f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So, time to choose my first bike (in 24 years) after passing my test a week ago and I'm like a kid in a sweet shop.. I saw a 2009 Bonneville with mega low miles that had been SORN'd but was too late. Fancied using that as a base for my cafe racer dreams. Also considering a late 80's BMW R65 as I'm interested in doing a cafe racer conversion (not beyond my skills). It's in great condition according to the pics and video. But is it a bit boring? There's also a 2003 cb1300 a few miles away with 10k miles on it. I'm 5'10 and 14.5 stone but is it too much for a 1st bike? I'm a sensible rider/driver. I can also do some cafe mods. Bikes with fairings are not for me. Much prefer the retro/naked look. Help! Not been on here for a while as I stopped the lessons after my 2nd Mod 2 failure and I also decided to wait on spring returned to Scotland. I started back at the same training centre and put in 8 hours of training before my resit. I wanted to get really comfortable on the bike again despite my instructors saying I hadn't lost much over the winter and was at test standard after 4hrs. Well, I managed to pass with 5 minors after riding like a total plonker thanks to me putting too much pressure on myself. Last 2 tests were failed with a major and no minors on each test. Nerves were shot to pieces. There were a huge amount of "incidents" to deal with including nearly getting taken out on a roundabout by the grey rinse brigade moving across lanes to about 1 foot away. Also had a fire engine with blues and two's to contend with, 2 x erratic all over the road cyclists and numerous car drivers who's cars did not have working indicators when they got to roundabouts.. Got back to the test centre convinced I had failed as my clutch control was getting lumpy after all the above happened with about a mile of each other. Nearly jumped over the table and hugged the guy when he told me I had passed!!! I'm 41, had bikes as a teenager and feel that I have just done something for my own sanity in passing this test. Look forward to shopping and getting used to my new bike!! S. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
