  1. It has been recently serviced before I bought it so no mechanical work planned yet. Which may also be beyond my talents... All cosmetic work hopefully, but even then it could be a test for my lack of skills. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No, they still move to full lock. Just not the most practical in that position. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Cheers! Yeah, now I just have to do a 15 point turn to get out of my garage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Bars, grips and mirrors on. Still revving a touch high when I turn the bars to the right. Need to see if I can re-route the throttle cables to counter this. Need to work out high I get rid of that horrible fascia and relocate the ignition barrel. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160720/de7155034e207e7fbe36cff41c9f540f.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160720/1a309ef2d4af54620138c9bb2b75df4a.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Update: Megatons are on, clubmans going on at the weekend (I'm away with work until then) https://vimeo.com/174249323http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/56fec55af905a72059f0e056cde3f6cc.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. 1st bike after passing my test. Undergoing the change to become a cafe racer. Megatons are on, and sounds awesome too! Will get the clubmans on at the weekend and see how it feels. Next stop will be the seat/subframe, then indicators/tail lights, then black wheels. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/3d6acfe9b4c39451c81fffc7a426319b.jpghttps://vimeo.com/174249089http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/0645a46612675e7efdd3c896ccbe6054.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Cheers iangaryprice, it was taxed by me when it was in transit. You can do it online and monthly payments now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks Joeman - that's why I went for this and not anything too expensive or powerful! While I will be going for a cafe racer conversion it won't be trailer princess. Hopefully next year I can go and buy something else and keep this for fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks. Spotted them a few days ago. Also http://www.flatracer.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; looks quite good. Much shopping to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Love that look. It's getting mods!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Passed my test last week and this is in the back of a van winging its way to me. Getting delivered in a couple of hours. I want to get a cafe racer or scrambler seat and clip ons to start. Then those fat retro tyres. What else ? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160603/9bd356f0223d3465fc4f0fb5dd436ff6.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I backed off on the CB1300. However this gets delivered in a couple hours. Already taxed and insured. I'm out on it tomorrow and the weather is great in Scotland right now!! It's getting the cafe treatment over the summer too!http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160603/43824acca229b1f76cc9f3ca00db060f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks Tango. Look forward to seeing your bike on here when it's ready! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Cheers Mozza- will definitely pop back in for a test drive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. So, time to choose my first bike (in 24 years) after passing my test a week ago and I'm like a kid in a sweet shop.. I saw a 2009 Bonneville with mega low miles that had been SORN'd but was too late. Fancied using that as a base for my cafe racer dreams. Also considering a late 80's BMW R65 as I'm interested in doing a cafe racer conversion (not beyond my skills). It's in great condition according to the pics and video. But is it a bit boring? There's also a 2003 cb1300 a few miles away with 10k miles on it. I'm 5'10 and 14.5 stone but is it too much for a 1st bike? I'm a sensible rider/driver. I can also do some cafe mods. Bikes with fairings are not for me. Much prefer the retro/naked look. Help! Scott Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. In Ayr. Hoping to get a bike soon! Good luck on your training. Keep me posted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks JRH and Hoggs. Never had that amount of madness in my lessons. So it was bonkers to get it all condensed into a 10 minute period after 20 odd minutes of good riding. I can laugh now.. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah the Norton or the ThruxtonR is a lottery win bike. Previous model Thruxton much more doable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Cheers! No bike purchased yet. I fancy a cafe racer style. Thruxton or cb750 would be ideal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Not been on here for a while as I stopped the lessons after my 2nd Mod 2 failure and I also decided to wait on spring returned to Scotland. I started back at the same training centre and put in 8 hours of training before my resit. I wanted to get really comfortable on the bike again despite my instructors saying I hadn't lost much over the winter and was at test standard after 4hrs. Well, I managed to pass with 5 minors after riding like a total plonker thanks to me putting too much pressure on myself. Last 2 tests were failed with a major and no minors on each test. Nerves were shot to pieces. There were a huge amount of "incidents" to deal with including nearly getting taken out on a roundabout by the grey rinse brigade moving across lanes to about 1 foot away. Also had a fire engine with blues and two's to contend with, 2 x erratic all over the road cyclists and numerous car drivers who's cars did not have working indicators when they got to roundabouts.. Got back to the test centre convinced I had failed as my clutch control was getting lumpy after all the above happened with about a mile of each other. Nearly jumped over the table and hugged the guy when he told me I had passed!!! I'm 41, had bikes as a teenager and feel that I have just done something for my own sanity in passing this test. Look forward to shopping and getting used to my new bike!! S. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Cheers folks. You're right. I'll go nuts if I need to wait until spring.Got work travel through October might see about a weekend test.
