  1. I've always locked my bike (Honda CBR600) up at home on my drive. When I'm out and about I've never really had to leave my bike for more than a few minutes so never had to lock it up. I'm thinking of starting to commute on my bike but will have to leave my bike on a public road or public car park all day. Are there any light weight locks I could put in my bag or would it be pretty pointless? Also, would you advise covering the bike during the day? I'm not sure how I could as I'd have to wait a good 30 minutes for the bike to cool down so it doesn't burn the cover. Half considering getting a cheaper run around for commuting so less likely to be targeted...
  2. I'll be using an independent as no doubt they will be a lot cheaper. I'm just looking for some ballpark figures so I don't get ripped off really! Cheers
  3. Hi, My Honda 2012 CBR600F is due a service. It's just done 12,000 miles and was last serviced on 10,000 miles but that was 2 years ago. A year ago I did some bits myself to make sure everything was well but want to get it done by a professional this time. What should I expect to pay for this service? I'll be getting them to do the MOT at the same time. Thanks, Zoom
  4. Thanks for the insights, black tint will have to do then!
  5. Does anyone know of a company that tints visors? I want I gold mirror tint, but my the Caberg Stunt only has clear and black tint available to buy! Thanks
  6. Bit late for those dates but I get out most weekends the weather is decent! Based in Chester, usually head into North Wales if you're ever that way give me a shout!
  7. Trying to avoid it, knowing me I'll send up breaking something! Saying that I did manage to remove the battery and put back in. I lost a screw... but I'd call that a success haha
  8. I didn't think the tank looked very big, how much do you think it would require to top up? Would something like this be suitable? http://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs-blades-batteries/car-battery-chargers/halfords-battery-top-up-water-1l" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  9. That's the thing, I don't have a clue what they put in it. Not the kind of question I thought to ask when buying! What problems can it cause? If I get blue or green but a different brand it should be fine shouldn't it?
  10. Hello! I've just been doing some checks and noticed my coolant tank under the seat is sitting just below the minimum level. I've not touched it as it was filled up when I bought my bike about 9 months ago. Is it ok to just top it up? It looks darkish so I guess it's blue so will try to get the same colour as I've read it's not good to mix. Or am I going to have to drain what's in there? Cheers
  11. Yeah it will probably drop out somewhere one day like yours did Hoggs. Mines not gold though so I'm not too bothered
  12. I've give it a move around and nothing is falling out. Attempted to lift upside down, failed Will forget about it, pissed me off though as first sunny day I've had on a weekend in months and this happened!
  13. So.... I was removing my battery to fit my Optimate charger cables. Whilst doing this one of the bolts for my battery fell off my screwdriver and landed somewhere in the bike I've spent over an hour looking for it, removed parts I'm comfortable with such as the battery and side panels but nothing. I've ordered a new nut, but now worried it could cause some damage if it's landed in the wrong place whilst riding. Anyone done the same? Any advice?
  14. I've not been able to get out on the bike for about a month now because every weekend it's been pissing it down! This is my first winter riding and tomorrow it's give it a nice sunny day, but the temperatures have dropped to 3°C - 4°C and it says it will feel as cold is -2°C. I'm worried about ice forming on the roads as I know this starts to happen at 4°C. Wise or not wise to go out? Seen a lot of people come off on ice which is worrying me. Cheers
  15. Yup it's a Optimate. Would this to the job? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-FTX-7-2v- ... 5d4dbc0ed7
  16. Whilst I'm at it, another novice question... My battery has a wire running from it with an adapter for easy charging. Looking at buying a trickle charger though and they all have the standard red and black clippers. What type of trickle charger do I need that will plug into my adapter? Cheers!
  17. Time convince the other half... Maybe a new dress for her would seal the deal haha
  18. This one? https://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/prod ... stant-shed Looks interesting! I'd have to put it at the bottom of the garden though and don't think the misses would be happy looking at it from the kitchen every day
  19. Cheers for the advice! I've got a trickle charger so will hook it up to that once a month for a few days if I don't manage to get out on it once month. My cover sometimes get condensation underneath it which worries me, so may still put it in the garage if I noticed any rusting.
  20. Hi everyone, I've only been riding since June this year so looking for some winter advice! I currently keep my bike on some paving slabs in the back garden under a cover. During winter when the temperatures drop I fear this won't be enough to protect her from weathering and rust. I'm still hoping to go out if we get a nice day, maybe once a month then... but I have the option of keeping my bike in my dads garage 20 miles away, will this make a big difference protecting her? Also, I hear people drain the fuel, oil and remove the battery during winter. Is this needed if I'm still going to try and get out once a month? I've already given her a coat of ACF-50 by the way, so hoping that will help somewhat. Looking forward to your advice! Cheers
