  1. Would anyone be interested in going on a rideout in the Midlands area where the pace is more suitable for 125s or slower riders. My daughter wants to attend one as pillion so as I've not got the TL sorted for pillions it will be the 125. I know its usually good form to have dates and routes in mind but I'm gauging interest and if some people want to do it I'll go ahead, otherwise its a waste of time. I was thinking start somewhere near Kidderminster heading out West taking in Quatt and possibly Ludlow but obviously it depends on locations etc. Post up if you are interested.
  2. I'd love to be able to say either way if I can make it or not but its just not possible to confirm. If I can I will be there, if not then obviously I won't.
  3. Rick, I'd be quite happy to organise something, but going by previous experience, at this time of the year everyone drops out and you feel like you've wasted your time and effort so its not surprising people don't bother trying. And to be fair with the weather we are having being so unpredictable you never can tell what it will be like on any given day. When its warmer you can be more sure people will make it and it becomes worth it. So wait for this snowy spell to pass and I might come up with something.
  4. Not from Birmingham but not far away, Droitwich. I'll definately be up for a few rides.
  5. Yup, I'll do my best to get there too - Bassetts. Got a rest day so should be okay, as long as I can get a babysitter for the evening which should be easy enough. I'll try and drag my mate aswell. Keep an eye out for a black TLR and black Bandit 650.
  6. I just might be up for this, I say might as usually something out of my control happens last minute and so can't go, bloody typical. Put me down as a TBC. Anyway, Bassetts for me as Stormy is too far to ride back after dark. Might even drag along my mate on his Bandit.

    forks

Forks are easy if you know what you are doing, if you don't then you can really knacker 'em up so probably better to pay out and take 'em to the garage. By the sounds of it the chances are you've lost oil out of one of the tubes, maybe through old fork seals, maybe just not done properly in the first place. If you feel confident enough to take off the top of the fork tubes (can be done whilst they are still on the bike if you can get the socket in) then you can 'dip' the fork oil with a length of CLEAN wire, a bit like checking the oil dipstick on your car, to see if the levels are equal or not. Check the seals & fork bottoms (you should have a bolt/allen thing that holds the fork internals together) for any signs of oil, don't forget to lift the dust caps off the top of the fork seals. Also check the sliding part of the tubes are smooth and free of damage, scrathes and rust as these will all affect the performance of the oil seals.
