  1. So this arrived today, and first impressions I'm very impressed with it. Topped up the bike tyres, and checked the 4 car tyres - one was a bit low. The battery indicator has gone done 1 stop (of 3 levels). I'm a bit dubious about how it will last long term, especially the battery, but we'll see..
  2. I've ordered this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BRGSNDVY I wouldn't use AliExpress - it gets shipped directly from China. I'm not sure were that leaves you in terms of warranty if it becomes faulty, or arrives faulty.
  3. Cheers - I never thought about a USB rechargeable option.
  4. Hi All, After being a bit lazy checking my tyre pressures (on the bike and car), and getting a flat after a slow puncture I think it's time I bought a tyre inflator that can plug into the mains. I know there are plenty online and in Halfords. Can anyone recommend one that they use? Thanks!
  5. I've been to Gran Canaria a few times, and would highly recommend it for the roads and views. Just be careful with the speed - Spain has an agreement to chase speeding tickets for UK residents. I had a speeding ticket from Tenerife, not Gran Canaria, but you have be careful in both. 6. I think any time there's a (semi) "recession" there will always be people who carry on spending as they were, or even spend more because they need a break from life. The number of new bikes that I see all the time sort of proves it - but it could be the older generation Bikes are relatively cheap for the enjoyment you get out of them - that's what I tell myself
  7. Thanks mate. I got a new Kwak 1000SX last Sep, and was going to keep both bikes. But the reality is that I'll hardly ever ride the 650F and I could do with money too.. (for day trips :))
  8. Thanks for your replies guys - I put it on AutoTrader last night. Never thought about checking Ebay, MCN and the bikemarket. I've held onto it for 2 months as I'm no rush to sell it (as long as it goes by 4 weeks or so ), and think I might get a better price this time of year.
  9. I'm selling my trusty Honda CBR650F. Details are below. I was thinking of putting it up for £4300 - is this price too low, should I put it for more? (I've never sold a motorbike before) Full Service History. 1 Owner Major Service (Shim Service) carried out 10/2022 - next service due 10/23 I've had this from new and it's never let me down. ACF50 applied twice a year Date of first registration - 01/08/2016 Mileage - 15696 MOT expires 07/2023 Taxed till 07/2023
  10. Thanks for the advice. So it looks like better to meet at my house, not offer test rides (unless deposit or wife has been left :)). I'll probably got with Autotrader. One thing just occurred to me - is it better to wait until April/May when the weather is better, and more people are looking at getting bikes? I don't mind holding onto it for a few months if I can get a few hundred £ more. Also, the MOT and Service aren't due till about July.
  11. Hi, I've bought a Kwak 1000SX and am now selling my Honda CBR650F. I'm looking for advice on the best way to sell it. A few things I need help with: 1. Where to sell - Autotrader? 2. Where to meet potential buyers - I've read they some could be scouting for bike to steal. Optionally meet them at a car park - though this does appear dodgy from their side 3. Payment - is cash better than bank transfer? 4. Anything else I should be aware of? TIA
  12. +1 for Sutton (Tamworth and Bromsgrove) - they do a great job
  13. You might be right Yorky - I'm getting a bit carried away. I'm staying at B&Bs too, and just me.. I haven't put a packing list together yet but it's something like: large camera bag, small camera bag, tripods x 2, laptop, bike overnight cover, a few t-shirts, jeans, socks, pants. Plus gopro, insta360 adapters, chargers. Also, spare gloves, and maybe jacket inner.
  14. I had a look at the measurements for a Lomo 60L Dry Bag Holdall. As it's 78cm long it would fit but goes right to the edge of both panniers. I was wondering - how would I fit the rok straps. As indicated here in green?
  15. So I'm about to buy a lomo bag soon and was wondering if I should get a smaller one and strap it like this, or get a bigger one and strap it as in the 2nd photo. (I'd put the standard pillion seat back on of course..)
  16. @fullscreenaging that's an excellent recommendation - never thought of that. I'll look into it. I suppose a dry bag doesn't have the same security as a lockable top box, but for me using it on a Scotland trip next year, it would be fine. Also, the dry bag option is a fraction of the cost of a top box, and I can use it on my Honda CBR 650 too
  17. I've heard that Kawasaki don't recommend panniers and top box fitted at the same time. I don't carry passengers so think it will be OK. The Kawasaki salesperson I spoke to said the same. On searching for top box options I found : Kawasaki Top case 47L - totals about £684.70 with all parts. link Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX (21-22) SHAD Top Box Fitting Kit £135.89 - not sure what else is required (after the box obv :)). link Does anyone on here use either one of these? If so can you advise on how well the work..? TIA
  18. Yes - I'll do this from now on. I didn't realise the hassle it could cause dropping a screw.
  19. So this arrived from Amazon and I had the screw out in 2 mins. Thanks for your suggestions
  20. I thought about checking YouTube just after posting this. I found a video of the fairing being removed on a 1000SX - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnIzC4JJclg I managed to follow this and on lifting the tank could see the screw about 10 inches away. I couldn't get anything to grab it so have ordered a flexible claw crabber from Amazon which should arrive tomorrow - https://www.amazon.co.uk/NoCry-Pick-up-Tool-Set-Telescoping/dp/B07D24Q9BP I'll keep you all posted..
  21. Hi, I've been an idiot and dropped a Quadlock screw (about an inch long) into my Kawasaki 1000SX - and it's gone under the fuel tank. The red arrow is where it fell, (the 2 yellow circles are 2 bolts I've removed) Here's another photo close-up When it first fell down there I could see it, and tried to get it with a magnetic screwdriver, but it fell even further down - and made a small clink. What are my options? 1. Remove the bolts holding in the fuel tank, and lift it, and get access to the screw. I did undo a few bolts but the fuel tank is still rock solid. 2. Ring Kawasaki and ask them what to do - the bike is 2 weeks old.. 3. Call out bike breakdown TIA
  22. Thanks - does it have room for panniers? (link - https://www.amazon.co.uk/XYZCTEM-Motorbike-Waterproof-Motorcycle-Protection/dp/B0874CJ2V2) (EDIT: After looking at the reviews it looks like it has room for panniers - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/R3TXE9Z7ZJBUHX/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0874CJ2V2)
  23. Any recommendations for an overnight cover for Kawasaki 1000SX (with panniers)?
  24. Thanks for your help guys - I went for these - RST Tractech Evo 3 CE Short Boots (the vented version) - £100 @ SportsBikeShop https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/411285
