  1. yeah but thats his problem - it wont start!
  2. The glowlight going off only means one thing - the light works! Most dieselcars have a seperate ecu for glowplug control which can go wrong. Easiest way to check glowplugs are getting power is to turn dash on/off a few times (make sure you finish on off!) and then feel the end of the glows - they work on resistance and so the end of them will be slightly warm. Also it takes a lot of oomph to start a diesel so make sure the battery is fully charged.
  3. you did tighten the rear wheel up properly?
  4. Long run - hein geriche 2 piece with full armour, alpinestar boots, carbon gloves, balacalva, arai chaser lid Track - Frank thomas 1 piece, knox back protector, alpinestar boots, carbon gloves, neck warmer, box lid Shop run - minimum of shorts, trainers, t-shirt and lid (whatever is closest), basically whatever I have on at the time...
  5. I am away 22nd, but free anything else (for now...)
  6. if you dont have front and rear indicators then your bike will be given an mot with a daytime use only advisory - basically a daytime mot. for a full mot you need full lights back and front
  7. Yep was nice to meet new faces and see some old ones too! Had one memorable experience - making progress on the ride home, cleared a lovely sweeping left to come face to face with a herd of cows....
  8. Phil - whats the website of the official photographer that was there?
  9. Yep just carefully bend it back with a couple of pairs of pliers! Be careful and gauge the tension, if it suddenly gets easier stop as it will break soon after. Also remember that if it has bent once it will bend again.

DIY stores (although they might be a bit poo), halfrauds or motor factors. If rideable most garages will have a set if you are friendly with them they might let you borrow one?

can you cut a slot into the head with a hacksaw/dremmel and then use a flathead screwdriver? Also heat works well on stubborn screws. Failing that drill the head off, gently drill out the shaft of the bolt and then re-thread with a tap/die set.
  14. If anybody wants to pop into mine in windermere for a brew on the way I am more than happy to supply a cup of tea! Any update on a time for sat morning? I might be bringing a certain forum member who isnt riding at the moment...
  15. We have purchased a disposable bbq and might get another - one for dinner and one for breakfast...
  16. There were wires to re-join - mainly kill switch, fuel pump and another one! Just followed the haynes book and connected the same colours to each other
  17. Right I will come and meet you sat morning for the ride out, what time will be good?
  18. Screw riding, we going in the van! Bike all fixed and alarm is out - was very easy, about 30 minutes - although as soon as I strated chopping wires out the alarm went berserk until i destroyed it with my trusty hammer
  19. Me and Dunc are setting of stupid early monday so should be there for sign-on... Also both camping - is it £5 each? Also - can we bring food to stick on the bbq?!
  20. Right bike stripped and given a good going over; New oil cooler and left hand radiator installed, just waiting for 15-50 oil and then I can try and get her started... Frame looks good, no dents/marks/creases anywhere - dash frame has been hammered back into shape and refitted and tail cage has been hammered back into position. Front brakes stripped and revuilt with new seals - all looks good. Its had a sticky throttle for a while, doing some exploration work the clip-on was slightly bent. So front end was fully stripped and clip on rebent to straight ish. Now throttle is smooth and springs back. While its in pieces I have removed the alarm that was killing the battery - just hoping that I have sorted the wiring out properly Tuesday is delivery day for the oil - so as soon as it lands she will get filled, hopefully started and the riden around the block a few times to check all is good. Oh and 2 fairings sections have been resined and fibre glassed
  21. No coming up the hill under the bridge went for an overtake and got pushed right, onto the grass, scrubbed some speed off but went down like a sack of shit at around 70mph We came to a hault after 4 hay bales and a long skid on the grass... She is bent and leeking and I am slightly bruised, could of been worse. Just ordered new radiators off evilbay so fingers crossed that will get her running. Plastics are screwed but will glue/tape/fibreglass back together, the dash frame is bent but it was bent anyway (more now!) just hoping nothing else is too skew
  22. Uh-oh maybe another retirement... Had a nasty ish off at Oulton today - fingers crossed it can be bodged
  23. No ive got a plastic tank and its a little flimsy where the bag sits so I am wary about pilling the weight on it!
  24. There is a forum trackday coming up - its up top somewhere!^^^ And nice pics, did you manage to keep the front down
  25. A local upholsterer will have loads of scraps that should be big enough to do it, try yellow pages for some near you.
