Not that I'm the slightest bit interested in buying this, just found it browsing ebay, how can this be advertised as HPI clear when it looks like the head stock is ripped from the frame?

I actually bought a bike a bit like that (well not that bad but still).

Triumph 1050 sprint, looked alright but the owner did say it had been crashed and repaired.

Seemed fine but a year or so after I bought it it rolled backwards off the side stand and fell over - unsurprisingly cracked fairings, more surprisingly the headstock snapped..

Turns out it had been welded back on at some point, after the crash no doubt, and not very well at that.

  2. I've been fairly sure for a while that society in general is moving towards a place where zero risk is acceptable.

Safety is paramount, and any argument against it is just met with 'you're being selfish' as though all drivers/riders who actually enjoy the activity (as opposed to seeing it as a mundane necessity) must be reckless idiots.

Councils making these decisions just want everyone to use public transport anyway.

I personally don`t think so but if I did decide to sell it at some point I would probably ask around on here anyway.

By the way there is a very clean 2005 Hayabusa waiting to be sold which I must get on with cleaning and advertising.

    Cheers

I'd love to buy your busa but pigs may fly before I could afford it 😆

I'm sure you'll have no shortage of offers for it, they're always popular.

Never seen the need for a jet washer. Bit old fashioned I guess. I just use a bucket of warm water with a capful of Wilco own brand car wash.  A large microfibre cloth, which is only used for the bike and goes in the washer afterwards and then after a rinse off, let the bike dry naturally. Finally a polish off with another microfibre cloth with a dab of polish on it. Vinegar based cleaner for the mirrors and light lenses to get rid of any watermarks and a bit of wd40 to wipe down the wheel rims. No fuss, takes about an hour with a coffee break. The bike lives outside so there’s not much point obsessing about it.

Similar process to me, except it takes me 4 hours with no coffee break xD ..and I usually find I haven't cleaned the wheels properly the next day either!

I suspect those, like myself, those that would fight, and possibly die, for our country are are in the minority.

The days of 19 year olds, fighting the in the air, on sea and on land, en mass, are gone.

Too many would be worried about being “triggered”, “stressed” or “outside their safe space” ...

I mean fight for trans rights .. of fight for your country .... mmm

I can see the people of Barnsley, Rotherham, Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow ... making ied's and molotov cocktails.

But .... but, ..Bristol, Oxford, London, Cambridge ... Surrey

There are fanatical religious groups , well entrenched in the UK, that would welcome any enemy of the indigenous population with open arms and full co-operation ... I suspect.

I am in contact with my friend Andrey in Kirov, his wife and girls have gone to his parents in the south of the country, he is staying to fight, he’s 64 ... but won’t leave .....

You do come out with some utter bollocks 😆

So the North and Scotland would fight but the rest of us would just give up?

No-one knows how it would go down but as Putin has Nuclear weapons it's rather a moot point.

  6. I was in the same position, I called and he assured me it would be sent out.

A week later I called again, turns out I needed to phone my previous insurer, as I hadn't been with MCE long enough to get another year.

So unless you've been with them 11 months you'll be in the same position :(

The dealer must have some paperwork for your bike taken in part ex.

Worth mentioning that cancelling insurance on a bike you have sold or part exed is not just about your premium. If someone buys the bike and has an accident whilst it's still insured by you then your insurance can be liable.

Crazy as it seems I've known cases where someone sold a bike, forgot to cancel the insurance, or just thought they'd let it run out as it hadn't got long to go, then the bike was involved in an accident. Even though they could prove they had sold it and weren't riding it since it was still insured in their name they were liable. It proved to be very expensive and showed up on their insurance record for years.

    Yikes!

I suspect they may have scrapped it as it was 23 years old, mechanically not bad but very tatty.

The bike should have been registered with Dvla as under ownership of a dealer, which of course does not show on the log book.

Surly the dealer will give you a letter?

I'll try them again, they didn't really respond to my last email except to send the invoice but hopefully they should help.

  9. So it turns out I here didn't cancel my insurance on my gsxr 600 when I traded it against my new bike, so I've been paying for insurance on a bike I haven't owned since last June..

The insurance company has said they'll cancel it and repay me the backdated payments if I can prove I've sold the bike.

Except I don't have any documentation to prove it. Nothing from the DVLA. I asked the dealership I traded it in to but all they sent was the invoice for the new bike which makes no mention of the old bike at all, so useless. Like me 😆

Any suggestions on how I could obtain proof of sale at this stage gratefully received!

Picture 5 is insane. Any cyclist who undercuts a vehicle indicating he's turning left deserves all he gets. Sadly it'll be the driver who gets screwed.

My thoughts exactly, just how is that sensible?

Obviously as riders/drivers we check for cyclists approaching a turn but the idea it's our fault if a suicidal cyclist takes the opportunity of us slowing and indicating to suddenly undercut us is ridiculous.

  11. 2016, aged 29. A couple of my Uncles always had bikes, Ducatis, (think they were always trying to one up each other) but I remember my mum was never keen so I never got to ride pillion or anything.

But it wasn't until my Uncle was showing me his 1198, Multistrada and 748, and his sons Yamaha diversion it dawned on me that maybe this would be fun, so I signed up for my CBT soon after, had a ropey ybr 125 for a few months then got my full license in Feb 2017.

Somehow I'm on my 6th bike already 😆

@Pie man I received a cheaper quote on a Tracer 900 over my Tracer 700. The only reason I went for the 700 was down to not liking the mapping on th 900.

Really how bizarre! I got a tracer 700 recently too, how are you finding yours?

OP Unless you're getting a modern 1000cc bike I reckon a 600 is more suited to riding on the roads, more involving to ride too - you can't just go everywhere in 3rd gear for example.

I reckon get what you want but as others have said check insurance and if at all possible get some test rides first (although this is much harder than it should be sadly).

I use Monimoto,  never had any issues.  Reliable and pretty accurate.  You need to take the time to find a good place to install it though.  A lot of people put them under their seats, and this is, apparently, one of the first places these thieving scum bags look.  I have used Datatool in the past which was also pretty good,  customer service with them was excellent,  yearly subscription can be expensive though. Mine was also connected to the bikes battery, and I did hear some state that it had a tendency to drain the battery, I never experienced this issue though.  It's as pie man said above,  just depends on how much you value your bike .

How large is the tracker unit?

Bristol is much the same - some bus lanes you can use but others you can't.  No bloody logic to it.

Reading is similar, and to add to the confusion there are some signposted only for Buses/Taxis/Bicycles but that you can use on a motorbike.. although maybe only because the council haven't put cameras on them (or only front-facing ones?)

It's all getting a bit heated on this forum lately. Just remember it's nice to be nice, maybe let's not be too Insulting to each other wr and maybe have a little tolerance of each others views. Hands up I can be a bellend at times and I don't think any expert in bellendedness could ever confirm I'm not one so if anyone want to call me a bellend I'll accept that as I display all the symptoms of one in short  bellend positive for the foreseeable future

*Waits for Six to chime in calling you a bellend*  😛

Don't think I've ever seen you post anything mean or bellend-ish actually!
