  1. Thanks a lot guys.. Definately going to invest in a charger and then I've got one either way. Thought I was being clever by just starting the engine and letting it run periodically... Obviously not as effective!
  2. Hey guys I've got a FZ6 in my garage which hasn't been used in a while. I'd been starting the engine regularly and letting it run for a bit to stop the battery going dead but I took my eye of the ball with it a bit recently. Anyway the bike starts starts when connected to my car battery but will not start on its own. I'm unable to take it for a run-around to charge it up as the MOT has expired so possibly the issue is that I'm not giving it some revs once it's jump started? I'm guessing a new battery is required but is there any equipment that is cheaper than a battery that can possibly charge it back up?
  3. If your looking at bandits and SV650 then you should look at an FZ6 aswell. Great bike
  4. Hi guys I'm still looking to source the fairings if anyone knows off anywhere to get them? Hoping to replace them myself really
  5. Cheers guys. Yeah there wasn't a scratch on me and I got lucky as my bike slid down the road and missed an oncoming car by about an inch! So to confirm is the bike safe to ride do you think? I managed to ride it back ok after I came off it... Or a trailer job to get it to the garage?
  6. Hey all Had my first off not long ago at low speed on my FZ6, I was going slow round a corner due to rain and I'm not sure why but the bike just slipped from underneath me and slid down the road. Luckily the crash sliders did there job and stopped most of the damage but I have cracked the fairings on the bike, one is on the nose by the handlebars and the other is on the rear fairing under the seat. Firstly, is it safe to ride the bike while the fairings are like this? Secondly, where do I start with repairing this? Is there some good reputable places where people buy their fairings for these bikes? Thanks in advance.
  7. I mean it's the first service since I've had it, not it's first ever. Bad terminology on my part.
  8. What makes you think that? Only bought it last year
  9. Hi my bike has it's first service and MOT coming up but I'm a bit precious about it and don't want to leave it with just anyone. Can anyone recommend anywhere around the Stamford/Peterborough area?
  10. If you can't afford the costs for a DAS then you can't afford to be a biker. Period. The training costs are just the start...
  11. As the title suggests really. I've found that a lot of motorbike gear is cheaper if you shop online rather than go to a local store.. But obviously it's a bit of a lottery I guess with ordering the right sizes? Would anyone recommend buying online for this stuff or is just better to go local and try it even though it's more costly?
  12. Always better to click more than less. I got kicked out of two of the videos due to clicking too much... Still passed easily.
  13. My instructor told me told us to go into the bend no more and no less than 15mph and then gain your speed from there. This apparently works really well, any faster and your fighting the bike to get it round the bend and losing speed, any slower and you don't have enough time to gain the speed
  14. As the title suggests really! I'm counting down the days until I can pick up my bike after passing my test a couple of weeks ago, but I've been spending the time swotting up and watching vids to avoid mistakes as I'm still very inexperienced and had never rode before my DAS
