    getting worried

I think you have 2 valves, but you will see when you lift the cover And if you reuse the gasket try not to disturb it. Otherwise take off and clean the mating surfaces or it will leak. I'd say 2500 miles is a sensible oil change interval for a 125cc single. Mine is a scooter so I have no manual clutch do not know much, sorry.

You can easily do most of the servicing yourself. it is almost as easy as on a pushbike. you will need a new sparkplug at that mileage. Valve clearances should probably get checked as well (this is a bit tricky if you need to adjust, but just to check is easy. Just get the timing marks aligned precisely and buy a feeler gadge set.). Mine (Honda SH125) at 9K valves were going out of allowances and if I had not adjusted them I would have a full valve job to do soon. You head bearings are probably fine at that age just lift the front wheel and see if the fork turns freely and does not play against the frame. But the main thing is to keep oil changed frequently the more the better. Now you have done that you can do the rest at your own good time. Good luck on the road!
  3. Thanks queen, Yours is good advice, sadly.....
  4. Never thought about this until got myself a pair of pants off ebay which a a wee bit short at kneepads/tight. These are gorgreous brand new IXS gore-tex trousers and I would hate to part with them if only I knew they would stretch/shape a bit with time!
  5. I am thinking about installing a 150cc Malossi cylinder kit for 125 4 stroke Honda watercooled. Dous anyone know what is a realistic resource of this kit in terms of expected mileage? Why do some people say that the Malossi cylinders last 2000miles only and others say that they are very tough? The best answer I found so far was: 'I have done 9K and had been over 3 cylinders "without problems" ' . How are they compared to the original honda reliability? Any information will be appreciated.
  6. Dr Bike from J&S - £19.99 - does the job! Go for large in case you get a top box.
  7. I think the subj is a great device. It keeps your helmet clean, makes putting it on easier, and keeps you comfortable whatever the weather. I have Oxford ChillOut Thermal Motorbike/cycle Balaclava, full head with one hole. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 42ffd3a0df It is OK for temperatures about 10C and below, otherwise it is too hot. It claims to be wind and waterproof which is not far from the truth. IMHO, the main things to look out for when choosing one are: 1. the hole must be big enough to keep clear of your breath, ideally just under your mouth to avoid steaming (mine is too high) 2. the breast and back covers should be long enough to tuck deep under your outer layer (mine's too short at the back) 3. It should be waterrepellent/proof and windproof (mine is excellent) Would be the best to try one on, as always, before you buy, as size matters. Cheers!
  8. Here Hi-viz Flames on my helmet (£9) + Class2 reflective vest (£2.99) at the market stall + about to stick chevrons ( ~£10 ) on windscreen/topbox and if any left - on the sides under the pillon panels. Hi-viz are good, they make us visible but not invincible, let's not forget.
  9. Korben, thank you for a very helpful answer! Will try at home... C/J is not bad, as far as flip-ups go, but nothing's perfect
  10. My stock visor (old C/J not GT) seems to have rainbow film in light at a cert angle. I think it must be the antifog one. I does steam a bit. And at night there is some glare, compared to my openface HJC. Keeping open helps but it is annoying, I agree. I want to try a double-glazing type remedy like pinlock - the spays/fairy will all produce glare. 2 AchamaenianPride - are those anti fog shields self adhesive?
  11. I cannot seem to get to the main visor. How do you take it off? Just do not want to break anything
  12. Seems that outer cheek panels have to come off ? What else? In what order? Are any tools needed? Thanks
  13. Cost under £60 - too good to be true? Has anyone tried these lids? Cannot find neither reviews nor SHARP ratings, cheers! Added later. Visited J&S today who had another Nitro Flip-up - the quality feels flimsy. Compared to Caberg - i would not pay even £30 for it(Nitro, I would for Caberg, of course ) The lid does not lock with one hand, the latching mechanism fiddly and padding is crap. I wasn't impressed with Takachi K86N either. So unless F346 is way better it is a no goer. Might stick to my fav HJC after all, or save up for caberg
  14. J & S sell them - try it on. Feels real nice and fits me perfectly. Opted for an open face because of specs but will probably get one anyway.
  15. Thanks for that! What a grrreat news! Has anyone been able to book at the old test centres? Portsmouth is still unavailable... they did not take bookings for October so I guess they just have not adapted to the change yet. Hope the examiners have not quit their jobs !
