  1. I use a Cetek which I have had for years and is very useful and also reliable. It just works really so I would buy another for sure. Not cheap but just does the job. I have to say I tend to agree with you about Oxford, that has been my experience as well.
  2. So after a wait of about 5 months I am taking delivery of the Hornet back end of next week. Seen a photo or two and I am very pleased indeed. Looking forward to riding it next week just as well as I am not well enough to go and ride it home this week due to a bout of covid most annoying. I will let you know how it goes then.
  3. I am having goldfinch yellow one. One dealer has told me it is the most difficult colour to get hold of. There are a reasonable amount of white ones in the system and that was one option I looked at as it available in the next couple of weeks but in the end decided to hang on for the colour I really wanted. Currently have 500f which is a nice little bike but can lack a little puff when you most need it. Solid bike though economical and has never let me down in any way. The hornet was only ordered after the 500 was serviced earlier on this year and the dealer allowed me to have ride out while mine was being serviced. After that it was more or less a done deal.
  4. So it is confirmed for the 4th October and booked in for its PDI on that day. So having waited this long another 6/7 weeks I can live with. I did check out one on Autotrader and when I asked it was not available. So I will stick with the order.
  5. OK, so today I had an update from the dealer. My bike has now been put back again until October. This is the third or even maybe the fourth time it has been put back. So I have just mailed them and requested a confirmation of the delivery date. The trouble is I have now lost all faith in them because it looks like I will not get my confirmation in which case it will get cancelled. The whole process just leaves me cold and more than a little fed up (ok then totally pissed off). Have to see how I feel tomorrow and if the dealer has anything sensible to say. We shall see.
  6. Well I am still waiting for mine to arrive at the dealers I am told it will now be in September. So if it ever arrives I will then comment further but on the test ride it did not suffer from any real snatch on the throttle. I will report back if and when I get hold of it.
  7. Awesome, with some excellent drone flying, very smooth and what a road.
  8. Signed it written to my MP for all the use that will do me. Just thought it might be worth a shout. Anything to get something started.
  9. Good evening , Just a quick line to say I have changed my user name from varaman as I moved the varadero on some time ago. Just waiting for a new Hornet which should be fun when it gets to the dealer.
  10. I have also been quoted July or August for delivery. Still put one on order as I think its an ideal motorcycle for me. Its very light and nippy so looking forward to it. Should be able to enjoy it for quite a few miles before the winter sets in, and even when it does I will still ride it. Just need to wrap up.
  11. I also have oxford over trousers, I have only used them twice in extreme conditions. They did keep me a bit dryer than my normal textiles because all the waterproofing had long gone from the textiles. Bought them from the Sports bike shop. Not expensive at the time but hardly ever use them now.
  12. Chester routes also include Garden city, Saughall and the A540 Chester High road. None of which is over busy. I don't know about St Helens as I do not know the area. Good luck with the mod 2.
  13. Just to say that the cycle and bus lane experiment in Chester was suspended shortly after it first went live and remains suspended to this day. Cycling is now very poplar but some people have no idea how to ride safely. Travelling in Lancs yesterday and one cyclist was happily riding in the very centre of a two lane road and just holding everyone up. Massive line of traffic behind him/her. Anyway rant over.
  14. Yes OVO Still give interest if you are in the black with them. Depends on how long you have been with them as to the level on interest you might be entitled to, the best is 5%.
  15. Yes a great bike and pretty large for a 125 Had mine for ages even though I have full licence. Just about to move it on when the new bike arrives in a couple of weeks. Good ones do bring good money. If mine is anything to go by they are very reliable good on juice and everyone who does not too much about bikes think its 650. because its v twin it does look like bigger bike. I will be sorry to see it go but 7years is most likely long enough to own a125. now moving on to bigger things.
  16. Same boat as me I passed in early December. I have no idea what I want, so for the time being I will just carry on riding my little bike and enjoying it. Like the colour and the bike as well have good time on it and take care.
  17. Did mine yesterday passed OK but not perfectly. The questions are just fine so to get 2 wrong was disappointing.I think the hazard stuff is a bit hit and miss but I did get one I had seem on the practice. Anyway I passed OK and I suppose that is what matters as I have no desire at all to go through that again. Next job is to choose a school and then get it all finished. So onwards and upwards.
