Bike cover that doesn't fall apart
Julesholling replied to Lumor_uk's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
My one form R&G has lasted a couple of years so far and is very good. -
rst vs alpinestars leather trousers
Julesholling replied to toon83's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Cows. -
Got a pair of the Hood jeans as they offer far more protective lining than the other jeans, basically a full lining rather than a little bit in the most common areas. Also bought the hip and knee Armour pack to go in them for added protection. Would recommend the Hood ones as they make them to your particular leg length

Comfortable Gloves?
Julesholling replied to Tango's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I got some Arc-On gloves last summer for £75 and they are the best gloves i've ever worn. Comfy, soft and a high spec for the price. Have a look at their website, only problem is i don't think they are sold in dealers just online. But the guy that does them is reasonable so i'm sure he'd offer a refund if they didn't fit. -

Took me a bit of finding ( a few duff links around) but managed to download the 'Full Control' brochure that was mentioned in one of the earlier posts from the link below http://www.fema-online.eu/uploads/documents/vehicle%20aspects/Full%20Control_low%20res.pdf

Gotta say the Pinlock solution for me. Fit it and forget it. Don't need to take the visor off and reapply something every week and once you've bought it you don't need to keep buying a new tube every so often. Once you've bought 2 bottles of spray on stuff you've practically paid for a Pinlock visor

helmet fit around chin
Julesholling replied to a topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I wear glasses and have an Arai. They fit fine and have the channels cut out so they can be slotted in. I don't think you need to buy a specific helmet for glasses, just try a few on with them and see which fits best. fit is everything with a crash helmet! -
Wasn't there anyone at the race track you were obviously at to help you track down the problem

Rucksacks (Kriega)
Julesholling replied to dimmers's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I love Kreiga kit, i use the tailpacks myself but would rate their stuff highly. Very well made, waterproof and the tailpacks are v easy to get on and off the bike. As has been said before, you get what you pay for -
RST Gear any good?
Julesholling replied to Stuno1's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Got an RST leather jacket and love it. The fit is really good, style is good and the price was very good Haven't put it to the ultimate test yet but fingers crossed i never do -
Coolant temperature lower after coolant change?
Julesholling replied to rossibizatdi's topic in Pitstop
Not sure where the 'c' is along the gauge or how high it was going before the change but if there is a big difference between before and after it would set some alarm bells off to me. Have a check for an air lock and double check the fluid level is right too. I wouldn't have thought new coolant fluid would make a massive change in the temperature no matter how old the other stuff was. -
Tankbag, Tailbag or Tidebags??
Julesholling replied to Mightycaz's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I use Kreiga tailpacks, they clip onto the rear seat and are easily remove with the straps just going under the seat when not needed. They also do a tank pad adapter so they can attach there if your carrying a pillion Have a look at their stuff (http://www.kriega.com/) as their bags are very very well made and waterproof too. Bit more expensive than the Oxford stuff but worth it in my opinion. -
Alternatives to Almax??
Julesholling replied to cypek's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Also as Jimmi said, one of the most important things to get is a bike cover. The tattier the better (if it's a crappy tatty cover the bike must be crappy too right???) If they can't see what it is straight away they'd be less likely to nick it as they'd need to lift the cover too see if it's worth nicking. Basically do everything you can to make the process of them stealing a bike as long and drawn out as possible. -
Alternatives to Almax??
Julesholling replied to cypek's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Well my vote would be for the Almax and Squire lock option. I bought one of these kits recently and am very impressed with it, bloody heavy and i would love to see someone try to hack through that lot! I also use it with an 'Anti Pinch Pin' from Torc Anchors, it goes through the body of the bike so the chain is attached either end meaning the chain goes through a ground anchor and the bikes wheel and chassis. Just means they can't unbolt the rear wheel and walk off with it. Also have a search on you tube for Almax Chanis, there's some videos of people trying to cut through the Almax and loads of other chains, the Almax is the one that the hand bolt croppers don't get through -
Bargain Oxford ground anchor
Julesholling replied to a topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Been looking for one of these but not sure if it would take my Almax chain? Doesn't look big enough to take a 16mm link chain Milsey, what size chain are you using with the one you ordered (if it's arrived and installed yet) Thanks -
Got some new gloves :-)
Julesholling replied to Julesholling's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Aye, good point, i did see some gloves for a touch over £200 covered in stingray leather, titanium, kevlar and carbon ect ect.. Taking a better look, those arcons are quite good for the price. Gotta say that those Buffalo gloves doe look remarkably similar but as 2fast2soon said it's all the other safety features that are also on the gloves that sets them apart. They keep getting softer and softer the more i wear em, breaking in nicely and they do look the mutts conkers! -
Well i decided to treat myself to a new pair of gloves for the summer. After much research and looking at other gloves i stumbled across a small London based company which make their own stuff, Arc-on. Not heard of them before but after digging around they seemed pretty good with some high spec stuff for reasonable money. Just bought a pair of their Stinger gloves and have to say they are pretty special. £75 and the spec of them is amazing for the money. Would recommend them if anyone is on the lookout for some new gloves this summer. Only downside is they are internet only, but after an email to them they were happy to refund if not happy with the purchase. They apparently are out and about at shows etc though. Pic of my gloves below (nicked from their site). I know some won't like the cost, but for £75 their pretty high spec compaired to the same priced gloves from Alpinestars or other big names Just thought i'd share my find http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx211/julesholling/04-05-201010-11-11.jpg http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx211/julesholling/04-05-201010-11-27.jpg

Yup check your policy wording carefullly as i renewed may car insurance last month and they included a policy wording correction sheet with it where they had actually excluded cover if used on the nurburgring. They mentioned it specifically, so double check with them if your not sure......

Not sure on this one...

Not sure on this one...
Julesholling replied to Rik398's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
That's how i understood it too. When you get points they get printed on your paper license. You only have one of those shich covers your bike and car license, so the points apply to both too -
Abba stands
Julesholling replied to collier32's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I got one and can't recommend it highly enough. It really is as simple as the video on their website makes out, can lift the bike and when it's there it's way more stable than when using paddock stands. -
definetly go for the blue n white, looks much better than the standard black......
