  1. When I try to start up my 50cc moped (2T) it cannot take any throttle whatsoever. I start it with the electric starter and as long as I don't pump the throttle it will idle for a few seconds before cutting out (due to cold engine) and same when I kick. However if I try to apply any throttle to build up RPM the engine starts to stutter and ultimately dies. However as long as I give it full throttle just after it starts it will build up to 5,000 RPM (still stuttering) and then starts to die but catches some throttle at 2-3,000 RPM just before cutting out. After 6+ tries of starting up it will eventually get going but if I let the RPMs drop to 3,000 or below to shortly afterwards it will die. Once it has been running for a little while no further problems occur. Initially put it down to the fact it might be cold (as temperature has been sub zero lately) however it only needs to be off for 5 minutes at midday when its around 10 degrees and the problems occur again so I have ruled that out though I could be wrong. Any help is much appreciated
  2. I already have a 125 just trying to get this sorted out as well. Thanks for all the help will look further into it now
  3. No that is not what I am trying to achieve. When I got the bike it was already de-restricted and only had an electronic restrictor which is not necessarily good for the bike as it runs too rich and floods. The bike was restricted by a single wire going to the CDI which I clipped. However the bike is running far to lean now and I have already adjusted the fuel mix as much as I can. I melted a spark plug a few weeks back as well due to lean running.
  4. I have a 50cc moped however it needs a bigger main jet but I cannot find out any information on it. The bike is a WK Wasp 50 TTR and specification link is as follows: https://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/wk_wasp_50_ttr_2017.php Does anyone know what main jet I should be looking for or where to go to find one??
  5. Well on the quote that I got I selected the bike model that it is, which is a WK wasp ttr or something similar to that. This also clarified that the model was originally a 49cc model. It then had a separate section for engine size and such and I entered 100cc so I am not really sure if they are taking that as being modified or not. I couldnt see any actual modification options. Any suggestions for another insurance site or comparison site to use?
  6. Yeah I just noticed. My insurance currently is £45 a month but it is looking like it will rise to around £65-£70 if it were a 100cc engine
  7. Thank you. I will look further into insurance. I feel like if I can get insurance it will be very expensive
  8. Hello everyone, I am very new to all this forum stuff but hopefully you guys can help me. I have a 50cc moped and I am 17. I am a fairly confident mechanic as my uncle is a mechanic and has taught me and so I wanted to put a 80cc or 100cc kit on my bike. I have done some research and realize I am allowed to ride a 125 and already have one but I just want to mess around with a 2 stroke engine. However I am wondering the legalities of a 50cc bike and if it is legal to go more than 45 km/h (28mph) on my 50cc and if it is legal to put a bigger kit on it and ride it on UK roads. Thanks
