  1. I filtered down the outside recently to the front at lights and was waiting in a lane which was straight ahead, or right turning, and filtered in if you went straight after about two hundred yards. The lad in the car to my left was some middle aged type in a Nissan leaf and I wasn't paying much heed til he, seemingly haven taking the hump, absolutely floored it. I was on a 140 bhp 1200, and he would have pushed me into the traffic island had I not absolutely redlined. Granted with hindsight, I should have pulled back, but I wasnt even thinking anything bar I'd accelerate away from the lights and off down the road. Beware electric cars. They are very quickly away, especially with some irate oddball at the wheel. (I'd add that in a car, it was only another few hundred metres to a long line of 30mph traffic on a 60mph road)
  2. Some of you lads need to get a life. Ranting on an Internet forum that some stranger didn't wave back. Dear me.
  3. The OP is clearly and understandably shocked, and wants to tell like minded people. No harm in that.
  4. Have you actually read what some of those soldiers did?? The police thing is disgraceful if true, the disgrace about the soldiers is that it took this long.
  5. They are not inherently dishonest, they are just bike flippers, buy a bike and shift it quickly. They aren't disingenuous, but it's crowded in there and a lot of the bikes haven't even been cleaned up. They are cheaper to buy from than average, but it's buyer beware with them. They are very poor with trade in prices, I wouldn't bother myself tryi g to trade in there, but I'd have no issues buying from them, in the knowledge that its big boy rules.
  6. I commute everyday on mine too. I quite enjoy the inclement weather z Funnily enough, I do too. I wear full rukka goretex, and apart from my hands I'm pretty much always warm and dry. Heated grips don't work for me as my fingers are always covering the levers. I have the best pair of lined goretex lobsters I could find but my fingers still get very cold
  7. I commute every day hail rain or snow on the bike. Its handy, the worse the weather the bigger the traffic advantage, but I don't feel the love like some here, its just a tool. Maybe I need something blingier.
  8. I cycle a lot, and I detest these fcukers. Generally sanctimonious with it. They have uber bright lights not only on the bars pointing high, but also wear head torches out of colditz, just in case you didn't get the point. Cycling along a dark two way bike lane, it is the ultimate selfishness, they can see fine and fcuk anyone else.
  9. People are missing the main and obvious advantage of fairy liquid here. It's always there, for free, in a bottle on the back of the sink.
  10. I Hose mine down once a month in winter. That's about it.
  11. PS, I should have made it clear that I'd happily pay cash.
  12. Can anyone recommend someone about manchester/South Manchester could help change the front shock on a bmw r1200r?
  13. I had no interest on here or on gumtree, and readvertised on gumtree twice, each time costing more money. Stuck it on ebay and sold in a week.
  14. Norton V4 rr would be thereabouts.
  15. What's the liklihood really of "a neighbours wall fell on it"?
  16. I'll buy them if they're still for sale. Edit, I've just seen the length. No good for me unfortunately.
  17. You do in the summer. Your winter bike is rarely a thing of beauty.
  18. Bizarre train of thought. Having consideration for your actions and not wishing to be a nob is not exactly bizarre. Genuinely, why would anyone give a flying fcuk what some random lad hell never again encounter found to shake his head at? I find it strange. The op got home in one piece. Noone got hurt. Nobody endangered anybody. I'm puzzled.
  19. Because he's a top bloke who wants to make sure he's not giving bikers a bad name by being a knob. Bizarre train of thought.
  20. No worries. I'll stick it on gumtree when I get round to it anyhow. Cancelled the mot today as there's still salt about so won't be ready for a fortnight til the salt is properly gone anyway.
  21. It might be an r. I'll check. It was my first bike, and I bought it as a lad that works with me was a mechanic and said it would be a grand bike. I didnt do much research, just bought it and rode it for the summer, then put it away for the winter and bought the bmw as I wanted traction control, and didn't want to get the harley dirty. I'll check the documents and post a photo tomorrow.
  22. 2007, 7020 miles. Just mot'd Full service history all harley, bar most recent oil change (400 miles ago) Pristine condition. No scrapes. Never dropped. Extra badges, trickle charger, and official leather harley branded panniers. It is mint. Never seen salt, and very rarely rain. Selling as having ridden my bmw r through the winter, I've just realised the harley is too small for me. It is a lovely bike though. I'm the second owner. First was a professor. £6000 ono. Photo to follow, probably Friday as I'm too busy to get it out til then.
