  1. Hi guys Anyone on here from Stockport part of Manchester? I,ve recently bought a Vulcan and have become a proper road rider now. For about 20 years of biking I just concentrated on cornering at high speed and cranking the bike over riding on the edge. I recently decided to change my style and become a road rider enjoying ride outs. If anyone fancies going for rides around the Derbyshire roads, Matlock and places like that please let me know. Hope to see some of you very soon. Cheers Ray
  2. It is awsome isn,t it just? Absolutely amazing, 20 miles of twisty technical bends. Its definitely my cup of tea. Shame you,re too far away the weather,s great at the moment for it. I normally stay over in Newtown and go out about 6 am the next day and ride for a few hours then back to b n b for breakfast. In a couple of hour window its easy to get a couple of round trips in. That road is like twice the length of Longhill and cat & fiddle combined. I just wish I lived some where a bit closer to it.
  3. I enjoy watching the football and the best game of the tournoment so far was France vs Argentina yesterday. That was a great game. I think England is developing fast and hopefully we,ll see them with France in the final.
  4. It does seem that these days you don,t see many police cars about but unmarked ones are every where. This is good I think, at least it makes everyone think twice about doing anything too illegal and stupid.
  5. Does anyone know this road in Wales? I fancy riding on this piece of road either next weekend or one after depending on weather. Anyone else fancy it? Which weekend is more suitable for those who fancy it?
  6. Old or bold, I,ll not be riding this weekend cos of work. Gotta be working in this glorious weather now.
  7. If anyone is too concerned about what other road users might do to them they should never go out on normal roads and ride. Even on a track no matter how good you are and how well you know the track someone else at some point may take you out. I,m really surprised to see someone who thinks that way to be riding at all. That is quite strange.
  8. I,ve riden on all derbyshire roads mate but I think they,re all wasteful in terms of spending fuel. But in terms of touring they,re great and enjoyable. I ride on longhill because of all the lovely corners and its safe because I know the road really well. I like riding at Oulton park too and I,ll never get bored with that track. For the same reason riding back and forth on Longhill never bores me either. I know that kind of riding is not everyone,s cup of tea but it suits me really well. When I get bored I try cat and fiddle too to break the boredom.
  9. Thats great Beansie I,ll see you up there if you could make it.
  10. I,m going to be riding on Longhill in the afternoon this coming Saturday and have some lunch at the new mobile cafe on the layby at the whaley bridge end. For those who don,t know the road, Longhill is A5004 that runs between Whaley Bridge and Buxton. Anyone up for it? We could meet up on the layby around 2 pm if anyone fancies it. I don,t plan to go any where else from there. I normally just stay on Longhill till I get tired.
