  1. You think she'd be understanding if the final destination was somewhere marginally less European??? Lets see....... She already complains that the bike gets more attention then her 4* hotel on St Magarets Island in the middle of the danube to mark 19yrs together or TMBF bike rally Im not even going to try and push my luck on that one
  2. I may come along.............GSX retro though Will let you know nearer the time
  3. I would but can't Have already promised the missus a week in Budapest

  8. I have these Take a look at my gallery Post Blackberry Incident one you can zoom in on Very good but the grips because they wrap round are larger than normal. Took a bit of getting used to but recommend them (either type) for the colder weather Mine have stopped working and Im no electrician so have not been able to figure out the cause Even had my mechanic look at them and he was unsure
  9. I would stop to help out if I could and I have had others help me Early 80's When I had my first ever bike it broke down in Fareham and I still had some 10 miles or more to get to my home which was in Waterlooville Started walking lid in hand after getting permisson to leave the bike in a service station. A guy pulls up on a GS1000 and took me home, to my doorstep. FFWD About 4 months ago I was on way home in the dark on the A27 past Chichester A car came flying up flashing headlamps at me The guy had chased me for some miles to tell me that my rear bulb had blown He followed me to service station so that I could buy a replacement. The service station was a few miles off of his route, and he did it to make sure that no-one hit me from behind. What a star
  10. I would comment but I wear robust jeans which apparently is frowned upon around here how things have changed since I was a wee lad I did send off for and received the Hood Jeans catalogue and samples though
  11. Sorry to hijack Hope its OK but I think this may be a relevant Q I used to use sunglasses and stopped because I found a spot in a road I use quite regular where if the sun is at the right spot in the sky you get blinded on an approach to a bend Not sure if its cos I had the wrong type or what but it scared me I assume that this does not happen with the built in sun visor?
  12. Freakin sky box is playin up Had a new LMB fitted, waiting on a replacement box as I am told the transponder thingy inside is shot Touch and go if it will be sorted for the weekend so I might have a bash at the photy tag if the weathers nice
  13. Thanks Tim I did see that one Probably just trying to take in too much too quick I spent well over an hour last night/this morning figuring out how to get some pics posted
  14. Was feeling a bit isolated and stumbled across the forum whilst looking for likeminded people After being away from biking for sooooo long all me old biking mates have either disappeared, some to other countries in search of a better lifstyle or given up biking The missus wouldnt venture onto the pillion at first but managed to pursuade her to come out once for a short spin instead of using the tin can. Not sure if she will do it again but well see. Haven't had chance to attend a ride out yet as only been here a few of days Hell!! not sure if Ill even fit in yet Seems like a good site so I guess Ill stick around a while and see how it goes It was the first forum I came across and by the sound of some comments about others I have struck lucky
  15. Thats not what Tear along dotted line means on your license
  16. Note you started out on a GP100 Me too. I had mine for three years. Ended up forgetting to top the 2 stroke tank up and having to rebore it. Took it for a service one day and the mechanic had to weld the footpeg bar back on where Id snapped it chucking it round the corners. Went onto a Honda 400/4 which I attempted to fit air horns too and nearly set it alight. Then finally an XS650 which I kept for 7 years and ended up hartailing. While I was rebuilding the engine the frame was stored in our bedroom LOL. I put the engine back in with one of my mates in the hallway. when we eventually got it started it wasnt set up properly and loads of smoke billowed out of the front door and into my neighbours house completely smoking her out haha
  17. Nothing yet first race this weekend!!!! Really?!?!?!? I meant last season
  18. Im done Haven't kept pace with whats been happening though
  19. Guess that pretty much sums up the advisors to the government
  20. I'm toying with the idea of a GSXR thou at the mo, but even if I was to look for another bike I dont think I could part with this one. Recently changed my car for one thats cheaper to run, to free up some funds in case I end up with two bikes lol. The GSX is definately the one for the long distance rides though. Longest Ive managed so far is a 200 mile round trip to Bexley.
  21. It took six weeks to find my bike and would have been so easy to just jump in and buy the first bike i saw. Glad I took my time though Gotta change thhe sports rack for the original grab rail. I dont use it and it spoils the lines
  22. The air bag that is , but I guess from the response you didnt see the funny side On a serious note I expect tat you've all seen that theres another one out that inflates around the back, shoulders and ribs to protect the vital organs. Its being pushed by the medical profession and from what I can gather they and the police want it made compulsory. I beleive it costs around £600
  23. I use this site to identify parts http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gsx750-1998 ... partslist/ I was looking to fit a stuby can on mine. Any ideas?
