  1. Good news!! It was the clutch cover gasket causing the issues. Original one was a paper gasket which had blown out and this has been replaced with a new gasket not made of paper. Again cheers for the help and advice you guys have given.
  2. Thanks for the help guys Just want to get the bloody thing fixed and enjoy what good weather there is left to come. They've went from saying it was safe to ride to don't ride it now. I haven't used it as it's an oil pressure issue I've told that and I'm glad I haven't as I could have killed the engine. It just surprise's me that a main dealer wouldn't know of what turns out to be a common issue.
  3. They have finally found the problem with my bike turns out it's a common issue with this bike as well. There's an issue with the clutch cover gasket that's causing it loose pressure the manufacturer have a modified gasket that stops the problem. Quite surprised they didn't know this being a main dealer but at least it's getting repaired.
  4. That's exactly what I said after the second switch but the chances of it being 3 faulty switches I very much doubt it. I've not payed a penny luckily this happened a month before the warranty ran out so they are having to deal with it. They are a nation wide dealership with something like 40 stores so I'd imagine they'd get on with it. I did kick off a bit the other week as they hadn't done anything and now have the GM of the company dealing with my bike, but it doesn't excuse 8 weeks of me having to wait for a repair.
  5. Well fingers crossed it's that and not any engine damaged. As the dealership haven't got a garage at their site I am using a third party garage who have also said the same. I got a quote from them to strip it down it's 2hrs work which is £112 and a new valve is £7 just trying to get the dealership to agree to it. We've had 3 new switches so far after the second one I thought they would have dug further.
  6. Just had a look at the old switch it states on the side that the minimum pressure cut off should be between 0.3 and 0.6 bar. Which is 4 psi to 8 psi. The test we carried out showed 7 psi at idle. New switch is being put on today but I'm not hopeful of this getting rid of the fault.
  7. I'd love to know where they got 7psi is okay. Thanks for the info though. I'm going to let them put the second switch on and then see what they come up with next. I've already told them to look at the relief valve, but again the are sure it's the switch.
  8. Thanks for the reply, This is what I was asking the dealership, they are 99.9% set on it being the switch and have ordered another one, which baffles me.
  9. Hey guys first post on the forum, Having an issue with my bike it's a derbi gpr 125 4 stroke (don't mock me). About 7 weeks ago I reported that the oil pressure light came on at idle once the bike was warm but cleared once it was over 2300 rpm to the dealership I got it from. As it was under warranty at the time of the issue occurring the first time. So far we have had a pressure test done 7psi at idle and 45psi when revved up. They have also changed the oil pressure switch and done a service so fresh oils and filters but the issue is still there. I have gone through the workshop manual and there doesn't seem to be a guide on what sort of pressure the bike should be at. Is there anyone who maybe able to advise on this? The dealership have also said the bikes okay to use which I'm not to sure on as it's an oil pressure issue and don't want to risk damaging the engine. I'm pretty much fed up as they don't seem to know themselves on what's causing the issue. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this one.
