  1. I have done my Mod 2 test 5 times and passed in the last attempt... I know how frustrating and expensive it gets, but trust me: It all is worth once it's past you! Sounds like you were very unlucky, which honestly happened to me a couple of times! The last one, was a good ride, no crazy drivers or interruptions, and I passed. You will, as well. In the end, it is totally up to you. I would personally try again if I had the money and the motivation!
  2. I have passed today! At some point, the examiner asked me to follow X and I was not in a safe position to do it, then followed Z instead. He came to my side and told me, looking in my eyes: "Are you crazy or deaf? Told you to go X" I said I didn't understand (which was not true) and he said "f**k... ok, follow me" He proceeded to ride really fast taking the lead. When I say really fast, I mean: I didn't even know if the speed was within the limit on those roads. All that time, I was following behind thinking: "Man... I am done for good... This is a real fuckup!" Then, back at the test center: "Ok, congratulations. You've passed." Well, time to sell the 125
  3. And on that I am in my 5th attempt... But don't worry! Everyone gets it easier than my, history of my life! hahahaha Took me 5 attempts,so you're not the only one! What have / haven't you done differently in the last attempt that made you pass? Did you do it somewhere else / changed your mentality / had a shot of whisky before?!? I mean... I know the ride was better than other attempts, I suppose, but was it due to lucky? What is your analysis?
  4. Yeah, I did have. Didn't pass... My problem, which I am trying to focus on now, is the "planning ahead". It feels I plan ahead a bit, but not as much as I should. On daily basis, riding my 125, I think I do it much more naturally, without the pressure of the test on my shoulders. I think that helps a lot! The day of the test, I am so concentrated on understanding the instructions correctly (English is not my first language) and doing everything "by the book", that it just blocks my brain somehow... I think I can't laugh about it anymore because I am more angry than frustrated, actually. Just want to get this over... It has become such a drain in my life, in regards to time and focus.

  6. Ahhh but that is actually BS advice because the same happened to me on my first attempt, so I 'just went' and I got failed!! There's no winning sometimes... It's REALLY hard sometimes, as nothing is really "black or white". There are so many factors that come into play when doing this exam, that makes it tricky!
  7. Out of curiosity: Why are you taking the A2 Mod2 , if you just took the DAS one?
  8. I've never heard of anyone who has passed with that guy... Putting this in different words: Every time I hear someone complaining about Enfield, it's about him. The only problem is that the complaint system requires way too much personal information, even your driver license reg number! I was about to make a complaint on him, but gave up when I saw that... Pass and then complain, he really shouldn’t be allowed to continue wasting people’s time and money let alone the distress it causes. That's EXACTLY what I'm doing...

  10. yes, of course, he seems to be known by every instructor for harassing their students. If you have a complaint, you should also send it in. yes, and the instructor was also shocked by the examiner's reason. I guess I could use him as a witness but I imagine they also don't want to get into the bad books of the test centre they rely on for their business. I've decided I am changing schools and the place where I will do my next mod2 attempt... After 3 times with that guys, I can't stand him anymore!!!
  11. Quick question: Is it the short, semi-bald dude, with glasses? I've been failed by him 3 times...
  12. I think it really varies from person to person. The year (and counting) I've had 125 and scooters prior to jumping on big bikes were extremely valuable for mine (and others) safety on the road. I have never suffered an accident, not even dropped the bike, but I got distracted with the 125 once and almost crashed into a stopped car... I can't imagine what would've happened had I been on a bigger bike. It just feels like a natural progression starting with a 125 and going to something more powerful! I wouldn't advice on buying a 125 if you don't need/want one, but you can always rent one for a couple of weeks after getting your CBT done to get the feeling of the real world of riding a bike on daily-basis.
  13. Yes, that's my fear as well! Sounds illogical that the examiner would be keen to fail you, but I wouldn't be surprised coming from this guy. Its not that he would fail me deliberately, but can consider minors, majors. In my attempt number two, he failed me for such a bizarre thing (cut corners) on a completely empty street, and that really put me off. Anyways, time to move on. I will try somewhere else next time!
  14. Yeah... I am currently searching for a school that allows me to do it in Uxbridge. I presume I am not a complete disaster since I've been riding for a year now and never even dropped the bike (apart from the school's bike as mentioned before).
  15. Thanks mate. As others said, I think it's time to change and try somewhere else. The only problem with doing that is that I will lose my "knowledge" of the area in which I am doing test in
  16. Sorry to hear about this - but don't let it put you off. However, have a think about what happened: 1. You were waiting to enter the roundabout to turn left - to take the first exit. I'm assuming (yes, I know) that you were at the head of the queue on the LH side of the entry to the roundabout. 2. A car approaches from the right, indicating to turn left. Correct response is to stay put UNTIL the car actually starts to turn left. DON'T rely on indicators - wait until it is absolutely clear what is going to happen. 3. When the car starts to turn off the roundabout, THEN go. At this point, it does not matter what the car behind is doing - it CAN'T hit you unless it ploughs through the car in front of it. The first car has provided you with a shielded window of opportunity. 4. Having started to move off, you then stopped as you have described, causing the issue with the lorry. 5. I reckon the fail was nothing to do with what the lorry did (although I agree it shouldn't have been that close) but was instead based on your apparent indecision regarding the emerging situation. Actually, the examiner clearly said, at the debrief, that I should have just gone, based on the fact the guy had his indicator turned on! I get that my acceleration and brake gave the wrong signals to the lorry, but I agree with you and disagree with the examiner... Anyways, it's not something I can change now. This guy failed me before for a WAY more controversial right-turn "cut corner", so I guess he's just one of those picky MFs that are not really opened to interpret things differently from his perspective.
  17. So, went there again, "let's give it a go". After riding my 125 for 50 min to get to the Instructor's office and get the bike, off we went to Enfield (and a couple of situation trials before). 3 minutes into the ride, I stop at a small junction and didn't notice the camber on my left-hand side. When I try to balance the bike, the weight of it is just too much and I drop it. Broke the footpeg. Instructor lends me his bike and went back to get another one for him... That was even BEFORE the test started! Then all good and my test starts: "f**k, the same examiner again!". Yeah! I've got the same guy once again... That twat... Anyways, off we went. His bike had a problem, so he followed me on a car this time. All went ok... 2min to the end of the test, approaching a big roundabout, he asks me to turn left. I see a car approaching me from the right with the left indicator on. I start to go but notice that there is a car behind him and I can't see his indicator lights. so I play safe and brake (not even hard, ABS didn't even kick in). There was a big lorry approaching behind me and the lorry slam the brakes, skidding a bit and almost knocking me off. Then that's it! That's the point where I was told I failed once back. Apart from that? 1 minor. I am feeling a bit off after this one. The lorry didn't keep a safe distance and judge my actions wrongly... I paid the price. 4 failures on Mod2 is just too many. I am calling it a day, at least for some time. I can't really just rebook a resit straight away knowing I will (most likely) have to deal with that guy again... Might give it a go somewhere else, like Uxbridge. Dunno
  18. Sounds like you've got the same examiner as me (He took me to this route, where he failed me on that corner because he said "I cut through it". Short, bald dude with glasses and a very unpleasant demeanour?!? His name was "H" - didn't seem short from memory, and very pleasant (we were both laughing out loud before and after the test). Cool. He's a nice bloke, Indeed. Done my first attempt with him as well!
  19. Thanks mate! Glad you passed!!! Did you do yours at Enfield by any chance? I took mine in Enfield (apparently no longer the lowest pass rate in the country!) last week. I thought my particular test route was quite undemanding, save for a very steep downhill street with a sharp right turn at the end. I got a minor for that turn, in fact! Sounds like you've got the same examiner as me (He took me to this route, where he failed me on that corner because he said "I cut through it". Short, bald dude with glasses and a very unpleasant demeanour?!?
  20. Honestly, I really think "money is not the problem"... I am by no means rich, but I can be homeless with the A license anyways! Relax is the word of the moment... FFS!
