  1. I have been wearing bowtex elite leggings since last June and next week will be ordering the top. The stuff is sooooo comfortable that pyjamas would struggle to compete. The vids convince me they are adequate protection. The only flaw I see is the stretch in the material could mean in doesn’t stay in place if you’re sliding in the wrong direction. I’m going to add some ties to keep the top n bottoms securely fixed together to get round that. Better than Knox I think. Can’t imagine the flimsy elastane they use lasting 5 seconds in a slide. They are also superb in the summer heat due to great wicking. I flapped about in chiffon trousers (and a mesh jacket) cool as a cucumber while others sweated Adding to basket as we speak!! If you don’t mind letting me know how you get on with ‘connecting’ the top and bottoms I will do exactly the same. I also wish they had foot loops on the leggings and a method of attaching the top to an over-jacket so it acts as a permanent inner, until tassels go out of fashion and I have go and change my leather jacket You know, when you have an idea an think surely I am missing something and then I go and get a reply like yours Slowlycatchymonkey, it’s awesome —and I think we are aware it’s not flawless, but it removes the risk of me jumping on the my bike in my Speedo’s out of convenience Cheers Slowlycatchymonkey, massively appreciative of your reply. Now I can go and buy that cool leather jacket, and the cargo pants that don’t assume I have legs like tree trunks!! Thanks everyone for he discussion. Glad I found this forum, cheers.
  2. Many of the jeans allow the armour to be removed from the outside, other than that they are pretty much like normal jeans. And if you search hard enough not all jeans are made equal, you don’t have to wear the baggy huge things (my preference is a trimmer fit because I’m not a big guy).
  3. Hi all, first time post... What do you reckon to wearing a Botex Elite Kevlar top and leggings with CE armour as a base layer and then wearing your choice of clothes on top? Reason for asking is it then gives me complete flexibility of what I wear depending on the seasons (and fashion). I am a long time biker but recently returned to biking and looking where best to spend my money. I am guessing full race leathers are better than anything, but just how much of a compromise is a base layer vs a more casual armoured leather jacket with pads and Kevlar woven jeans with pads? The advantage for me having the base layer is I can ride into work and remove the base layer and not have to spend the day in bulky trousers and have to transport a change of clothing with me. I can also then almost wear whatever I want over the base layer, without reason I suppose. Cheers https://bowtex.com/product-page/bowtex-elite-shirt-dyneema-fiber/
