  1. Done, I do love a good survey, good luck with the Masters boss!
  2. That's because they don't know you...
  3. Unlucky boss, oh how I did LAUGH OUT LOUD when I read your text though. Such a dribbly excuse, we live in Britain, it's usually always high winds ahoy!...

  5. +1 to the Spada Flage. I have managed to fit jeans and trackies under them in the freezing weather, didn't need it mind and was swetting my balls off.
  6. Agreed. Diagnosed my bike's failures and listed what to check to fix them. Not only do I now have a working bike but more mechanical knowledge.
  7. Fixed the bike! Turned out there was water in some places it really shouldn't have been, resolved by a fan heater. Of course all help was provided by the font of knowledge, formerly known as megawatt. I also agree with his statements about Chinese bikes. They are essentially... shit. Now to see if I can find anywhere in Manchester who do this 1 week course to do mod 1 and mod 2... Apparently it's like DAS but for A2 licence.
  8. So I'm back posting about this failure of a bike. Long story short, it was working absolutely fine for a few months until cobbz persuaded me that pressure-washing it would be fine, later that day it was a bit on-and-off as far as starting was concerned (needed bump starting twice but the rest of the time starter button decided to work). Now it's just not having any of it, haven't tried bump starting it yet but I assume that would work. I don't know if the pressure washer affected it or it's something else, but I don't think it did any good, silly Taiwanese bike. Basically it's not starting, electrics seem fine, electric starter button attempts to start it but nothing happens apart from draining my battery. I have checked the spark plug gap which is fine (0.6mm) and there didn't appear to be any water in/around there. would basically like a list of common things to check if possible as I have all day tomorrow to have a go on it, I did want to work on it through the evening tonight but there is too little light and today seems to be the day my garage bulb wanted to give up. Could really do without this at the moment as I want to do mod1/mod2 as soon as possible now weather has cleared and I'm on top of uni work (for the moment), but with no bike I might have to be looking at hiring one or something. At least I have learn't my lesson about dubious mechanics with my 125 rather than a future 'big' bike... don't buy them. Thanks all.
  9. Glad you love yours, I don't, not looking forward to this winter, hopefully I'm going to be able to find the time (get off my arse) to do practical tests and get on my 600. Me farting about is taking the piss now and this 125 malarkey is turning me off biking, but i know as soon as I get on a REAL bike with safer rubber etc. I'll love it like I did when I first got my 125.
  10. Thread revival! Wow, posted some pretty daft sounding questions back then. I haven't had many severe problems with the Megelli, quite a few niggly bits and bobs though, too much to go into detail.
  11. Hey all, not posted for a while but been occasionally reading. In preparation for mucho rain and coldness, bought myself an Astars textile jacket, simply amazing. (1/2 price from the Powersport bikes closedown, bonus). Also got some Spada Flage textile pants... Also good, but have one gripe, I sound like a tent. With any movement it sounds like I have a tarpaulin flag and I'm giving it a good old waft... It's quite loud... It would definitely be a head turner at uni. Does this unwanted audio go with time and wear? Or is it because they're cheap because the Astars textile does nothing of the sort. Yet to try them out but I'm overall happy with them. 12. I have an RST Helmet which is decent for it being a dirt cheap one. Also recently bought RST kevlar lined jeans, great quality denim and really comfy, great alternative to draggin's but I haven't purchased any leathers, tried one of their jackets (Razor) on at J&S and it was sporty and comfy, nice fit, possibly not as comfy if on a non-sport positioned bike but having not bought it I can't really say any more than that.
  13. Good to hear that mate, glad to see she is getting back on bikes. Many people decide not to get back on the steed after this kinda stuff.
