  1. Unfortunatley cruz, chances are, this will not be stopped (because of the aims and structure of the legislator (the EU) that ive explained elsewhere on this forum). I'm only going to make me feel better about it I expected nothing more than a massive distance between your good self and this event
  2. Ride to protest against European proposals for compulsory Day-Glo, compulsory ABS and anti-modification of motorcycles - Let Your Voice Be Heard! Make a weekend of it at the Heart of England Bike Rally. Location: Gather at Noon for 1pm start - 'Hare & Hounds', Lickey Road, Rednal B45 8UU Web: http://www.mag-uk.org Ill be there, but dont let that put you off
  3. It really does depend on the wind direction, I wouldnt go far distances with a pillion on it, 70MPH would be verging on red line. Ive done many motorway miles on a ybr, no complaints, just sit in lane 1, and it can go all day like that.
  4. my ex took about 4 days over a few weeks If you already drive a car, i think that helps tremendously.

    Breakdown!!

I would bet £10 its the alternator. a running engine always needs electricity for the spark plugs. Normally the alternator will provide enough power for the spark plugs, auxillary power consumption (lights, indicators) and to charge the battery up (since the battery needs charging after initial start up), do what rennie surgests, and if the alternator isnt going above ~13V then its buggered, similarly check the current. check voltage in parallel, current in series.
  6. hey all, a couple of years ago i had a full car licence, and riding a bike on L plates, as soon as i got wind that they were changing the test into some disasterous EUSSR thing i applied for the theory test for bikes, believing that its needed, although i already did a theory test for cars previously. i dug the highway code out so my GF have a have a read before her CBT, and i found on page 120, a note which states:- since all car licences comes with a full moped licence, would everyone with a full car licence, beable to cite this reason as for not havibng to take the motorcycle theory test?
  7. Ooooo some more unverified information. As a car driver im pretty pissed with your accusation... maybe you would like to get the statistics to back up your claim, and also provide stats on how many bike accidents are due to rider error! Thanks hello Vicky, first off we have an claims company claiming that :- http://www.thelegalline.co.uk/road_traf ... laims.html then we have the booth report, granted, done 21 years ago, but nether the less conluded:- http://www.ukwheels.com/accidents.asp and here we have scotland's government concluding:- DfT states http://www.scenta.co.uk/eco/global%20wa ... orbike.htm Mixed bag really, personally since i ride a small machine in mainly urban areas i am more likely to be in a non fault accident, whereas if i was on a big machine doing 1000 miles a year exclusivley on rural roads im more likely to be in a fault accident, possibly maybe if all cars were bikes, and bikes were cars, most accidents would be caused by a motorcyclist, lets ask why they have chainged, and making it harder to get on a bike, dispite most accidents being the car drivers fault (in built up areas). Even if the new bike test reduced motorcycle fault accidents (without droping the number of new bike licencees), and was generally a competent test, i would still be slagging it off because its the EU comission, which isnt accountable for anything that has brought this is, and the DSA ltd who passed it through not on the basis of safety, but on the basis that its a good excuse to close a number of test centres down. To be fair to the EU, i was informed that the EU allowed the swerve test to be conducted in MPH, therefore it could be done on a public residential road, but why diddnt the DSA take them up on this kind offer?
  8. more bullshit from the (unelected) EU comission. most bike and larger vehicle RTA's is the larger vehicle's fault. the EU loves unnesessary regualation and bureacracy, they need more car drivers to collect more revenue for their failed project. how about we start with reforming the car (up to a massive 3,500KG) test before picking on users who vehicles couldnt knock over a bladdy sheep ive managed to do the old test before the EUSSR brought in all this swerve test crap, never looked back since
  9. you certainly needed it on test day (practical)
  10. all motorways, including things like the A1(M), and other A roads with M in, also a section of the A55 in wales as someone has mentioned, and the A1 near Edingburgh, also known as "special roads" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_road Pedantic side of me coming out, but the A6144(M) (carrington spur) is single carrageway and until 2006 was technically a motorway, while its been downgraded most of the motorway laws still apply on that road, and its still maked on most maps as the "A6144(M)" http://www.pathetic.org.uk/former/a6144m/ anyway, as an ex car driver i find the best way of going long distances on L plates (when i had them, and still today when i have a pillion) is finding roads with either 1 or 2 numbers after the A, and see where they go, as usually there long distance, and was establuished well before the era of m/ways (e.g A1 runs from londong to edinburgh, A6 runs from London to carlisle, A5 runs from London to holyhead) and same with the 2 numbers (A49 from preston to ross-on-wye, A50 from Warrington to Lestershire, A57 from liverpool to somewhere on the east coast) and so on EDIT:- A49, not A46 (not that anybody will notice)
  11. thanks very much, i think it will be GG (back is drum), unless a YBR 125 is a performace bike (but they offer HH for the YBR ) cheers again
  12. silly question, but i assume GG or HH type pads refere to the breaking power of the pads, they will still work no matter which one i get cheers
  13. bit optimistic I try to see the BIB in a positive light
  14. congrats, your licenced to produce electricity! you have to pay £20 to get the restriction code removed, personally i wouldnt bother if your only riding a big bike within the UK as the police should know thats theres a 2 year limit on it, but if your riding in another EU country then i would personally fork out the money to get it removed as trying to explain that the restriction only lasts for 2 years to a spanish policeman is probably a mamoth task!
  15. sorry to correct, its its under 50cc thats not allowed on motorways, anything above (the C70, C90, learner legal 125's) are allowed on motorways as long as you have a full licence although personally i wouldnt carry a pillion on a motorway on my 125
