  1. Nothing yet I'll have to find some unlucky bast*rds to join. I suspect I'll keep it within the UK (and/or france) as I'm fairly new to full powered bikes. Long distance isn't really a problem, I've only ever done long distance
  2. Just bought a Xena XX-15. Seems nice, bloody loud. Xena £20 jobby off ebay bloody rusted up! Leave that! Back protector, get the forcefield L2 (~70 quid) excellent imo (not 'tested' tho)
  3. Good luck then matey. Don't forget to double check this guy is worth the money - see if you can find any reviews knocking around. ps: I'd recommend getting a theory practise book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Learn-Ride-Ever ... 1844252205 / That one for me was excellent
  4. As the guy above said the A2 costs about the same in training as the DAS does. Where the A2 benefits is you don't have to pay the insanely high training costs. If you're suitable competent on the 125 and you've read up on the various rules and regulations you could just take your test. I choose to do it via that route, it saved me a lot in the short-term. In the long-term I had to worry about buying a restricted bike and all the fuss that goes with that. If you're under 21, I'd recommend the A2 route. If you're over 21 consider the DAS is you can afford it. If not be prepared to wait for your license to mature.
  5. I forgot about this thread I ended up buying a berick alien 8 in a 46. Fits great!
  6. ...and don't foget there's other kinds of restriction. Throttle stops for example.
  7. In my experience a restriction can be performed in almost anyway. None that I know of stop you red lining the bike. My bike for example, uses a throttle stop. It simply stops you from giving the bike all the gas you could do normally. I've only noticed this if I accelerate really hard or if I'm on a motorway (at around 80 you run out of throttle). As for speed, you can happily out accelerate most cars. I've overtaken BMWs, mercadies etc. Off the line you are usually far ahead of them (oh and yes, liberals - without speeding)
  8. Couldn't agree more, I had a brand new CBR125 and it couldn't have been more gutles if it tries. My new bike (hardly a supersport) feels at least 10x faster than that bike. Even with an A2 any bike is faster than a 125
  9. Well my A2 cost me the price of the tests (75+15) but that only works if you're confident on the bike. DAS can be anything from 300-1000
  10. I'll echo what eveyrone else has said, the Sky is the limit with gear. Usually 200 is a good price to spend on a helmet (That's when you start getting the RSR2s, RSX etc - aka spots helmets). Jackets seem to get good around the 100 mark. Trousers, probably around the 50-100. Gloves, 30 Boots, 75~ Obviously ebay is a great place to get some bits and peices, people get shot of unused jackets all the time. Very good way to save hundreds!
  11. lol. Don't worry both my girlfriend and I got stuck in several 400-500 jackets! Luckily the staff were too busy with another customer to laugh. We just about managed to pull ourselves out. Quite funky and nerve racking. Cheers for all the comments guys, I'm going to keep up my search.
  12. Sounds like you have hte same problem as me. Mind if I ask your size? I only had a chance to try on the RST range :/
  13. Hey ladies and gents, I've been in the market for a leather jacket recently, decided rather than get something cheap on eBay I'd pop into a store and try some on. I quite fancied the look of the RST Razor. Jesus they're small. I couldn't even put on a 40... a 46 was tight! I'm about 6'2, 32" waist, 40" chest (need to go the gym! ) fairly slim but still struggled. Did I miss something? I thought jacket sizes were based on chest size. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
  14. I do, not entirely sure how useful it is yet. Bike gets a liberal covering all over, tends to make it a little messy thouhg
