Hi all! I've moved to ashford and I'm in need of some help. I really need to find a good reliable mechanic to help me out and was wondering if anyone knows anyone around here who could help. Ideally I need to find someone who runs a bike garage and would be able to take my bike and have a play with it to figure out the problem... I have a Suzuki sv650 s k4 2004 model. It's ran fine for past three years, had full services etc. and no major problems. Now though, (probably because its sunny and good riding weather) it's decided to start playing up. I switch her on and she runs fine for up to about 20 mins, then the revs seem to mess around, particularly at slower speeds - 30mph or less. Keeping the throttle steady, the revs might drop or pick up for no reason. Likewise, when speeding up or rolling off the throttle, she sticks at the revs she was at for a bit before reacting. Once all this starts, she then sounds "clunky" if that makes sense. The engine noise seems lower in tone, like its struggling to keep going. Then, when slowing down at traffic lights or junctions with the clutch pulled in the revs obviously drop, but then she cuts out. When you start her again, you have to keep the revs high or else it just cuts out again. Makes riding in a town a. Difficult and b. embarrassing!! If anyone could point me in the right direction, either by diagnosing my problem (not mine, I mean the bike- I know my problem, I waffle when trying to get to the point...see?) OR by pointing me in the direction of someone who can help without ripping me off for hours spent on labour it would be much appreciated. CHEERS! Bob
