1. Less than one month after passing my full test I was stationary at a T junction turning right minor to major positioned about a half a meter back from the junction line and same from the middle line and a car coming from my left cut the corner and drove into the front of my bike without having seen me, no breaking I think. I'm gutted and shaken and upset. I think the bike is done. She is only worth about 12-1300 pounds and the steering points straight and the wheel points to the right. Have taken the details and handed them to the insurers. I'm just gutted if I have lose my bike, I'm not mechanically minded so have no idea what the above symptom is likely to be because of and how much that will cost to repair. I really love my bike Not sure why I am posting really other than you are my tribe and might know what it's like. or have some wisdom.
2. ftw you sir are in the wrong. Five minutes on the naughty step then say sorry to fastbob when you come off. He has been very patient with you.
3. Happy Birthday fastbob
4. Don't get me wrong, £600 is a lot of money and not easy to find but it is a reasonable amount for what you get I think.
5. Are you old enough to go for your full A? My course was 3 day 750 including tests and test time. My instructor offered 2 days to someone who did a sighting lesson with me with a similar story to yours. I guess that was cheaper. 600 for three days does not seem that much to me when you think th einstructor needs to earn, pay for bikes and insurance etc.
6. There is a section on here about member’s text experiences. I cannot link on my phone but worth a look. I was lucky to be able to do my mod 1 as a part of direct access training so had about 7 hours mod 1 practice during my 3 day training. I found it difficult to nail a couple of items but worked at it and made it work. I found it helpful to say outloud in my helmet the steps I was following for each manoeuvre I found difficult. I-turn: “shoulder check off you go, shoulder check and turn not too fast not too slow” for example. Also look towards where you want the bike to go rather than where it is or you’d eat it being. Good luck
7. Take another test on it. If you really enjoy it buy it and do Norbert get on a different bike until you want to get rid.
8. Have a good time. I am jealous
9. Pretty much new to both fastbob been in Brum and riding for about fourteen months but only passed my full A a few weeks ago. Riding for pleasure didn’t work for me on my 125. Thanks for all the advice
10. Headed south on the 435, swing off to Redditch then followed the signs to Stratford, then out of Stratford towards the m40 but decided to head back the way I came. A nice couple of hours out.
11. Hello groovy gang, What would be a nice ride out from south Birmingham? Up to a couple of hours. Any suggestions?
12. Even when they are noticed, anti-Iraq war march was noticed and ignored. Plus others.
13. What , the bike or the kick picker ? Lock pick set, not from wish though. Mine has multiple padlocks with different locks in to practice on.
14. I have one of those! They are ace fun.
15. I love my 1990 zzr600. No idea if it can be restricted or if height is okay but it is a six hundred and a sports tourer
16. My Zzr is European according to that
17. I had 74 indicated out of my Lexmoto Falcon a few times but it was into the red and good conditions.
18. No that isn’t good. Get the falling apart bad day done and out the way before test. Good luck!
19. This is my Lovely Callie. I enjoyed being in the road in my 125 but I am truly loving this bike. A few days away at in-laws and I miss her! Think I might do some riding for pleasure not just my commute.
20. I found practicing on my 125 too different to the 600. I had a mantra in my head as a part of the routine. I would shoulder check, set off, day and do shoulder check and then say ‘off we go, not too fast no too slow’ then complete the turn. I found this really helpful not sure why.
21. Just want to add to the buy a used Japanese bike. I bought Chinese new and have lost shed loads on the value. It's been an okay bike but I wish I had bought a CBF125 or some such.
22. My two penneth would be get the 125. I'm in my late thirties and just spent 14 months on a 125 before doing my bike test and I now have a 600. the time on the 125 was ace and it was only because I started doing 10 miles of duel carriageway each morning and afternoon as part of my commute that made me want to change. It was enough for everything else. Plus the time on the bike was great experience as well as enjoyable.
23. All tests are THEORETICALLY to the same standard. Not sure I believe that. It if it needs work to pass not all work us to the same standard. No idea about OP but I have garages I have trusted and ones I would rather not.
