  1. Hi guys, I dunno how many of you will remember me from years ago, but I figured I'd pop by anyway. Bit of a strange one to return on but will see how it goes. I think the EU does more for us overall than being without it, I think it helps a lot, and I like being able to travel easily around Europe. Some of the posts earlier in the thread about displacing folk are really key ones for me that regardless of other impacts, that risk should be considered (although I'm sure if it came to it it'd be a staged thing, meaning that visas etc could be processed over many months so there wouldn't be a mass booting out of workers from Europe who were here). However in terms of the peace the EU has brought... I think this link is very informative, although has it's own obvs bais... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... ences.html
  2. Cheers very much, ended up having lazy day with gf and went into reading to do some shopping when it was tad quieter than weekends. Sadly didnt get a chance to go out on the bike, its still tucked up in garage feeling neglected
  3. Basically this. Gf had a load of problems with one of her unit places. they kicked up a fuss, she refused, threatened legal action and they backed down very quickly. Good records are key. Sounds like he's trying to take you for a ride though, let us know how it goes, would imagine it'll be fairly clear cut though. Double check you have plenty of pics of condition of place when you left though, nothing worse than realising you've missed a corner and thats where he's messed with I know what you mean, we had a fantastic one in northolt (so i'm hoping thats not a refence to where you are now and it was only where you were inthe interim or could be in for a long year ), but one I have not in reading is already bit anoying (amount of kitchen applainces we're getting changed) although seems to be pleasent enough so far, just a bit slow lol
  4. I'd like, SLEEP! so no presents, then I have no reason to get up, and can just have a nice lie in. Or if you insist on somthing, well I certainly wouldnt say no to a 1920/30's vintage mobsters car. Would be ace cruising around in one of those lol Oh, and I didnt think it was xmas until you had seen the cola advert with the trucks
  5. Due to a brain fart (read hectic with work and trying to move!) only jsut noticed this, have paid up, please add me to the attending list

    Religion

So basically Religion is like a pointles thread If you didn't post, I wouldn't reply and you wouldn't reply to me for replying to you. Got it now But what happens if someone else replies Then the Aliens have landed, runs for the hills!!!! (runs off mazking whoop noises) On a serious note though, I will not take seriously anyone who cant believe in dinosaurs (had someone on my college course say this, led to a stunned silence), but before big bang or owt hell, your guess is as good as mine. On topic of original question though, In Shepards Bush, middle of London, where else would you get young professionals, mix with old west indian ladies, mix with single mothers, mix with ...etc etc. I think churches have a very good comunity feel, where people from different walks of life can interact in ways they wouldnt otherwise. I quite like that influence in modern day society still carrying on

    Why fight?

But then on the flip side, how many people would then be up in arms about it moving more towards a nanny/police state etc etc. Just spitballing tbh but it does seem like it'd never get general public support lol (and would you want an additional licence to have to worry about)

    Why fight?

I actually realy like this idea, would also mean alcoholics could be refused sales. Only problem I see is a greater black market appearing (wheras now we mainly have knock off drinks being sold in off licences). Wonder if anyone in powers that bee has seriously considered this as a solution
  9. ah ok, thats what I get for reading the court thing not the link. But what if there wasnt a pothole or similar? I would assume the road would be checked and seemd fully servicable hence they said it, as like you say they seem to have lokoed into the specific circumstances. Maybe not though, in which case thats crap if motorcyclist had to move i to avoid obstacle
  10. So there was an accident, if the biker hadn't run the corner wide (not by much but not kept central to his lane) then it wouldnt have occured. Seems like a fair cop. Not good it happened but one for experience, dont chuck it round blind bends faster than you can react. Hopefully he'll be able to recover fully and keep on riding
  11. Car insurance amazes me, I actually cannot understand how any one can afford a car if they are male under 25. Passed my test in march, cant get a car due to insurance. they want 3k to insure me on a 1.1 peugout or a 1.2 skoda. worst bit is if I put in 2 years no claims (some will accept bike no claims) it only goes down to 2.3k minimum. My bike is a 1.4 so will be bigger than the flipping car! no claims, 2 years ncb on that, age 22 and I have that as a quote. how does an 18year old who hasnt ridden a bike do it?!?!? my bike insurance for a 1.4 litre bike is 500 quid, which is much better. but very understandable why you see all those cop shows with young drivers not having insurance being stopped, even if its 10 times a year then they pay 200 a pop, they've broken even! maddness!!
  12. usually nod unless im busy dodging taxi's. even got a few responces from pizza boys, although thats a rarity. i find its pizza boys and kids on peds who mainly dont nod back, which I jsut put down to them not being into their bikes that much. Keep nodding!!!!
  13. Reductio ad absurdum rarely leads to anything useful. Pot kettle black... Murder is unlawfully killing someone with malice aforethought. So both were murdered. I thought the seal team were ordered and it was sanctioned, therefore it was a lawful killing? (or have I misunderstodd who counts as a proper authority for legalising deaths?) And sorry, Gaddafi had money on his head didnt he? Our troops wernt there, it was rebels and loyalists. So if one of them killed him, for the reward? (assuming it wasnt jsut an honest accident, or a vengeful loyalist who lost family etc). And we gave them the means, but if I recall correctly, the rebellion began by gaddafi putting down a protest with automatic rifles? We gave the terrorists a means, but both parties started that of their own inclination
  14. Blackberry for me, I use it for texting (using bbm as well in this regard, although my contract is unlimited texts some of my mates arnt) and calling mainly, with the odd listen to music. Don't need all the fancy bits and bobs that the iphone has. I'm sure they're nice, but i have a 360 for gaming, and a computer for net (although i do use the blackberry one ocasionally). Also not really a fan of the touch screen. Battery life is the other winner, If the gf is back from uni so I'm not continuously texting her, it'll last for about 4 days, maybe more.
  15. Bit harsh, Rae's only been gone a little while, and he did give good reasons On topic: Yes there are theories. Overall, i'm sure there always will be a level of things we're not told. So? Why is that intristly bad? One instance in this conflict was the deployment of our sas operatives (might ahve been a different branch, but reported as sas, cos it sounds good in the papers). They were deployed to spot for our air support (that people were in favour off) and give our governemnt intel on the sly that was trustworthy so they could make the right decisions. Why is this a bad thing? where we told? hell we were, would endanger the oepratives, and achieve nowt. But when the papers evenutally got hold of it, uproar! theories on this and that and the otehr. Yes our economy is in trouble, but thats a seperate issue, why on earth would people assume our governemnt is that organised to stage this (and if they were, believe me, I'm sure they would have fixed those other problems rather than jsut 'distract' the public). All the governemnt is doing is running about trying to put out fires everywhere at once. I very much doubt there is an overall scheme, as it would have far to many variables to be useful. Glad he's dead, hopefully libyea will be able to set up a succesful muslim democracy, and be a better place to live without him.
