  1. Found last night (with help from the guys in chat) that it was the rear brake caliper... Thanks for your help everyone
  2. Oh nanas! thanks for the replies guys, will get it looked at
  3. Had started the bike yesterday as it's not been ridden for a while. Started first time, put it into 1st and noticed the rear wheel wasn't moving....when moved by hand it's as if it's catching on something. Doesn't look as if the wheel is buckled, but does move slightly from side to side when pushed.....Have maybe the bearings gone? I noticed the last time i rode it that it was as if there is a flat spot on the rear tyre, would the bearings make it feel like this? **Wish I knew more about bikes** Sigh Any ideas? Thanks Dixie

    squeaky brakes

I've noticed I've got a squeaky back brake, dad says it that the underside of the brake pads need greasing As always I know nothing about it, is it easy to do? Should I replace them to be on the safe side? Any suggestions greatly appreciated Thanks Dixie
  5. I bought the £25 pair last week seem to be pretty good. Bought them for just short journeys and everyday wearing. Found the straps much better than the velcro....
  6. Anyone know where I can get these and if they are specific to certain places?? Thanks Dixie
  7. Hi, just been asked to post this. There's a rideout for a local charity in Wrexham (nightingale house hospice) meeting at 10am at trackyou ltd (near demon tweeks) on Wrexham industrial estate going to Swallow Falls in Betws y Coed. I think minimum donation is £5.00 Hope it's ok to post this here Dixie
  8. That seems to make sense....mechanic is a very good friend, still like to get all your opinions tho
  9. Hi guys, after some advice on buying an oversized chain and rear sprocket.... The bike is having trouble going from 4th to 5th gear, losing speed and power rapdily. It's been in for a service and mechanic suggests buying a 45 tooth sprocket instead of the standard 42. Is this actually going to make a lot of difference? Bike is a CBR125 by the way Thanks, Dixie
  10. Thunderstorm didn't last too long, but long enough when on bike lol That was a very late 11:00 PPF.. You both free next week if weather better?
  11. Well pretty glad no one came out today....Got caught in a thunderstorm and realised just how bad manhole covers are to ride over Still managed to blow away a few cobwebs though
  12. It's given light rain around here from what i can see on BBC weather, but not sure how much of that I believe I'll be out around 12 on Thursday, unless it's persisting down that is. Hope MOT goes well, may see you then
  13. I have the whole day to myself on Thursday, want to spend a bit of bonding time with Cassie North Wales area if anyone fancies it (weather depending) Dixie
  14. Finally have something worth showing off.....well I think so anyways
  15. Sorry PPF was mowing lawns and holiday packing... Yeah give us a shout when your free and i'll be there if i can
  16. Is there many people in and around Wrexham, Chester, Oswestry way?? Would love to get some serious miles in this year and it's not so much fun on your own.. Cheers, Dixie
  17. Has to be car too for me Only down to practicality though. Two young children don't go too well on the back of the bike
  18. Thanks WF.... I couldn't find it
  19. hey guys Any idea's how easy chain and sprockets are to fit? Parts have just been delivered and really fancy trying it myself, don't want to not do something important though and it not being safe... Thanks Dixie
  20. When I say wobbly I mean as if the tyre pressure is low. Got a chinese honda CG copy. Am waiting for new chain and sprockets to be delivered so that should resolve some of the issue, back wheel seems to be ok movement wise but I'm new to this sorta thing and have no idea what a swing arm even is... Maybe get it into the garage....
  21. I've noticed that my back wheel feels a bit wobbly...checked the bearings this morning and they seem ok, I have tight spot in chain though..could that be my problem? Tyre pressure ok too. Thanks
  22. My CBT is due to be renewed in July, have been told that when this expires so does my MOD1. Anyone know if this is true? If so better get training and book my mod2 Thanks Dixie
  23. The morning of my CBT was fine (had already done one 4 years earlier on a moped) Went out on the road ride and found that I kept stalling the bike. All 3 of us were asked to come back to finish our road rides. Went back to see a different instructor, who happens to be a family friend, he took me out and 10 minutes into it i stalled at a mini roundabout...Guy behind me hadn't noticed me and hit me. Was stuck under bike and pretty shaken up, luckily no injuries and bike was fine. Pretty big dent in guys citroen picasso tho Got my certificate that day too, apparently only because it wasn't my fault and I'd ridden well for 2 hours after that. Never stalled since at a roundabout though. I'm always extra cautious now
  24. thanks Dan, must admit I don't even know what a pinlock but they seem to help people who have bought them. Thought it'd be better than the open visor option that I'm going for atm. Will let ya know if I can get one. Thanks again Dixie
