  1. Looking to change my helmet for the new season. I ride a FZS Fazer 600 and looking to replace my Shoei xr1000 with a Nexx XR1R Carbon or Arai Chaser V. I have a budget of around £300 and would like to know of anyone who has experience of either of these helmets. Thanks
  2. Thanks Colin the bear, Everything is checked okay from your list. Would you still recomend changing seals and lines as I don't know when either was replaced.
  3. Yes good point, brake fluid was changed Easter time and was still quite clear.
  4. Hi everyone, I have a Yamaha FZS Fazer 600 2001 and would like advise on upgrading brakes. Compared to my gf's 03 plate Fazer my brakes are useless with the rear being very weak. My plan would be to replace the lines and all the seals and fit new rear pads (old ones still have life) All in should cost from Ebay-Lines 67, seals 37, pads 14 Have had bike now for two years and don't know when lines or seals were last replaced. So would the the above be a good idea or any other suggestions. Thanks
  5. I'm not a bike instructor but I am a car one who passed his test year and half ago. The things you will probably need to work on are. Life savers--ie when and where Lane discipline--ie roundabouts, one way streets etc. Use of mirrors--ie when changing speed or direction Road position--ie at junctions Speed--ie doing 40 in a 30 area Would recommend you spend a couple of hours with a instructor who can tell you your faults etc, and then practice. Hope this helps. Steve
  6. Was cleaning my bike this morning (Fazer 600) and came across some sticky gunge under tank. Lifted tank to find some sellotape on tank where the leak was coming from.Removed what was left to a constant drip of petrol. It looks there is slight corrosion where leak is from. What is the best way to repair this.Could I fibre grass the damaged area. Thanks Steve
  7. Remember test now has 10 mins of independent riding,ie follow signs for x for 10 mins or may give you 3/4 verbal directions to follow. Wish you luck. Steve
  8. Also think about Avon Storm Ultra 2, just fitted to my 600 Fazer and what a improvement over my previous tyres.
  9. Brakes now bleed thanks for all your help
  10. Remove rear brake caliper from bike to get a pin removed so refited caliper with new pads and reattached brake pipe. Only problem cant draw any brake fluid through system. Hope someone can help. Thanks
  11. Just spoke to a tech friend who said a garage can drill into the pin and remove it with a special tool.
  12. Has a thread and i can reach both ends
  13. Hi, Have a Yamaha FZS fazer 600 03 plate and went to remove rear brake caliper to clean it and first found one pad very worn so went to remove pad pin to find one of the pins has no hex head. So what is the best way to remove this pin which has no hex head. Thanks Steve
